Lift, Train, Fitness

the community event had been planned for months, as it was I left early.

Spent over an hour sitting in the car on my way home from town today, an army vehicle caught fire and blocked the road, had to wait for the fire brigade to make the truck safe, I was less than 500 metres from pulling in to my driveway lol.

Food has been good today, and I don't have to go into the gym to coach, however I have be suckered into checking out the local re enactment society by a friend, which will be ok so long as i get to fire their cannon lol

I don't usually post my food, but plan to start getting back into the habit, I follow a strict keto way of eating, and my protein needs are higher than average due to the amount of muscle I carry.

Breakfast - 3 boiled egg whites
Lunch - 2 X 90 gram tubs of plain yogurt
Snack - Raw Almonds
Snack - 3 dry fried eggs
Dinner - Will be dry roasted chicken seasoned with fresh herbs and spice from garden (chilly etc.) no stuffing
served with zucchini, onion and mushroom. (Chook is still in the oven)

Hi Tru!

I don't post much about my diet either. But I do find it interesting to read them every now and then, gives me ideas on how to improve my diet. Sounds like you have a good diet! Lot's of protein indeed! :)

Hope you managed to relax a bit while confined to your vehicle. Also: yay for cannons that go boom loudly with no direct connection to human suffering!

Tried to get some work done on the juvenile pen for the chooks, did not go as planned, brushed up against a tree, got covered in ants, then bitten by ants. :( gave the tree a major hair cut and will try again tomorrow to get some work done.

sitting here at the computer I can hear the peafowl honking so almos time to give them their bed time treats.

incubator arrived today, watched a few videos for slaughtering and preparing chickens for the pot. I have seen it done by family members but have not done the slaughtering myself and hubby is a city boy lol. hubby and I want to become more self sufficient which means killing any extra roosters we raise now I can incubate eggs.

eating has been ok but training has been nil, not feeling very good today, must be a bug going around.

Meh on the ants, yay on self-sufficiency, even if slaughtering will probably feel very weird the first time.

Have been really tired today, had Doc appointment at lunch time and waiting for a tanker of water to be delivered this arvo, I soooooo wish it would cool down and rain.

I have placed a clutch of eggs in the incubator, so in 21 days I should have some baby chicks, this is a bit of a learning experience before incubating peafowl eggs later in the year.

Coached last night, went well.

yes the doc appointment went well,

had blood tests ordered to among other thing, track the vitamins that I am often deficient in to make sure I am taking enough supplement. Specifically Iron and Vitamin D. I don't produce vitamin D from the sun and with current research showing that lack of Vit D during foetal brain development as a major cause of Autism, knowing I was Vit D deficient when I had my boys would have been nice to know. Raising Autistic kids is a challenge.

Vit D is also very important to maintaining bone health, more so than calcium, because the calcium will not be used if there is not enough Vit D. I have a very strong bone structure and I want to keep it that way.

Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, heart disease, depression and weight gain

Always good to hear you´re looking after yourself. It´s raining here a bit but not as much as I´d like or expect for late winter/early spring.

After eating a less than healthy breakfast, I have a bit of outdoor work to do today, First on the list is to clean out all the chicken coops and replace nesting material before it gets too hot outside to work.

I also need to coach tonight, I have a new lifter joining the training group.

feeling a bit tired today, hopefully I won't be quite so tired tomorrow when I need to get into the sports fields and stocktake the sports medicine shed for the upcoming football season.

I take Vitamin D now every day too, even though I spend quite a bit of time in the sun. I'm trying to reduce the number of supplements I take, but that is one I'll continue with. It must still be very hot where you are Tru. It's a fair bit cooler here this morning & it feels good. Take care

The temp may look deceptively low, because we have high humidity, it feels a lot hotter. After all, I do live in a sub-tropical zone.

The summer's where I'm at get pretty humid (although probably not like yours) and it's miserable. You know what it feels like to drown and die of heat stroke at the same time.

feeling less tired this morning, stocktake of sports medicine supplies went quickly, very humid this morning.

not particularly looking forward being on duty next Saturday at football, with the heat and humidity still high I can see myself needing to treat a lot of heat exhaustion.

Spent a lot this afternoon sleeping in front of the air con, spent time at the gym coaching.

food has been ok but not perfect, ate some watermelon which would have put me over my preferred carb limit.

tomorrow is chess at the mall, so at least I won't be too hot at least during the morning.

Need an early night to give my body the sleep it needs.
