Lift, Train, Fitness

Sadly very true. In many areas and across the socio-political spectrum. (See vaccination myths and creationism.) The frustrating thing is that more and more accurate info just makes science deniers dig in their heels.

I think I may have overdone things a bit today on top of getting very frustrated dealing with government departments :banghead::banghead::banghead::beathorse::mad::mad:

I've actually just realised after catching up on your diary I may have bursitis, I've had it in this hip previously a few times but it's gone away on it's own (with strong anti inflammatories). I really hope the injection helps you, it's awful not being able to do every day things without pain!

An ultrasound will show it if your hip is also bursitis.

It will be a quiet day for me today, over done things yesterday making the pain flair up and went to bed with a fever last night. hope to be able to do some crafting today while my hand made modeling flock finishes drying on the verandah. I have some finished pieces ready to sell but need to get over my nerves to actually list for sale lol despite having friends keep telling me that I should sell my stuff.

Next week at the gym I will be doing staff portrait photos

Listen to your friends, Tru & go for it. I had to google modelling flock & am not sure I'm any the wiser.

lol thats ok, I am a complete nerd :rotflmao:

geek - An enthusiast of a particular topic or field. Geeks are “collection” oriented, gathering facts and mementos related to their subject of interest. They are obsessed with the newest, coolest, trendiest things that their subject has to offer.
nerd - A studious intellectual, although again of a particular topic or field. Nerds are “achievement” oriented, and focus their efforts on acquiring knowledge and skill over trivia and memorabilia.

I make terrain/scenery for tabletop wargames that look realistic, and depending on the game historically accurate. Although mum commented the other day that people in Canberra pay good money for model houses like I build for dioramas to display collectable figurines etc. I think if my daughter decides she likes dolls, she will have the most amazing doll house lol.

Usually I work in 28mm scale but can build models anywhere from 15 mm - 38 mm scale, 8mm scale is too small for me.

A full size terrain board (6 X 8 ft) depending on detail would normally sell for 1-2 thousand dollars but I am only going to start with selling small pieces. For my own use I am working on a 4 X 6 ft board which is a moated manor house located in a marshland area.

Flock it the primary material used to represent grassland areas and other types of vegetation and comes in a huge range of colours to get realistic effects, grass isn't just green and to make a model look realistic you need to use a mix of colour to make it look right.

Hmm I hate having to sit and rest but while I am I was just thinking of some of the skills needed in model making

Carpentry - The ability to work wood and use a wide variety of power tools
Sculpting - the ability to mold and hand craft objects out of plaster, clay, foam
Material Science - knowing how chemicals and materials react together to achieve specific effects (eg. knowing that adding dishwasher rinse aid to dental plaster will make it flow easier into moulds and set harder)
Painting - painting objects in a realistic manner to apear to be something they are not (make a piece of styrofoam look like aged timber)
Engineering - needed to make sure building stay up and don't fall over lol

Spent most of today re organising craft stuff into new boxes and built a set of shelves, hopefully my stuff will stay a bit more organised now, feeling hot and sore. Discovered this afternoon that my daughter likes to chase the red dot of the laser pointer around the lounge room floor lol

feeling a little less stressed today, but still pissed of about something that keeps happening (ATO keeps giving my husbands TFN to another person, which not only makes tax time more of a bitch than it should be because of the fraud by the other person, it messes up the data matching with other departments making a whole fucking mess of everything) Got notice that some of the mess is sorted again for this year in e-mail this morning.

My Daughter is at her 1 day per week of childcare today, so I can catch up on stuff I can't do while chasing her around the floor with a laser pointer :) our cat however has no interest in the red dot lol

Dealings with the ATO can be stressful enough without cockups like that!
Enjoy your day Tru.

My enrolment confirmation just came through, I am going to do the FIFA Medical Diploma, Can't hurt to complete another qualification, however this course is aimed at those already qualified in some way in the field so should be interesting. Oddly enough the first section is Hips lol

course is online with no time limits so I can do a bit at a time, each lesson is quite short but very detailed, after doing the first lesson I can see why it is aimed at those already with some medical training and fully qualified doctors, because the medical jargon would confuse the crap out of those not exposed to it before.

It's been an incredibly long time since I've gone back through your journal so I definitely missed a lot. You know, like you having your baby and all HAHAHA...I can't believe it's been that long. Anyway, a much belated and much deserved congratulations. I'm glad to see all is well with your daughter. I don't know why, but I find it hilarious that she chases your laser pointer around like she's a cat. I hope our daughter does that. Her and our cat can chase it together.

Anyway, it seems like you and the family are doing good. Good for you guys.
