Lift, Train, Fitness

Had an ultrasound on my hip today, confirming I have Bursitis, probably caused by the Arthritis, but cannot get an appointment for an injection for another 3 weeks, hopefully then my pain levels will improve.

Bursitis is inflammation of a bursa. A bursa is a small fluid-filled sac that acts as a cushion between bone and soft tissue (muscles, tendons and skin). A bursa (plural bursae) reduces friction and assists joint movement.

When you overuse or injure a joint, a nearby bursa can become irritated or inflamed. The bursa fills with excess fluid, causing significant pain and restricting movement.

Not having any luck at the moment, sprained my ankle tonight while picking up a squirming baby who is rapidly on the move, speed crawling around the house.

Have not been motivated to post much at the moment, looking forward to getting injections for pain on wednesday

Ankle is starting to come good, and I think I am just about used to the elbow pain (it hurts a lot if I am not careful but can do most of my every day activities with it), but this hip pain is on a whole other level, woke up in tears this morning. The bursitis is caused by the arthritis, so not much can be done to heal or even prevent it so for the moment it comes down to pain management. It is bad when your in so much pain you don't feel like eating.

We usually do hip centering exercises for similar problems but I'm sure you're as on top of the exercise side as it's possible to be.

LaMa my muscle balance, posture etc. is really good unfortunately it is the chunky bits of arthritis causing the bursa to be inflamed :(

had the injection today, have to take it very easy for a couple of days and by the end of the week I should have a good idea about how well the injection has worked.

Have spent some time doing some crafting which I can do without moving around very much.

Starting to feel the effects of the injection, pain levels are down and feeling more myself. A few poor food choices have crept in and I need to get eating back on track, I ate 2 squares of 90% dark chocolate tonight, a little high in carbs at 2.5 grams of carbs per 30 gram serve. But I did have good protein today, a small amount of beef seasoned with pepper, fresh garlic and some smoked paprika served with 3 of our free range eggs from the chooks.

Need to get an up to date price for a side of local beef for the freezer.

Checked our tank water levels today, still almost full despite drought, but we are not feeding livestock (other than our poultry including chickens, guinea fowl and peafowl) like many farmers and still have 3 dams of water. With better mobility I may be able to get out and fire up the rotary hoe to re dig my vegetable garden beds which have been fallow since I got pregnant.

Good news, Tru- re pain & water levels. Can you buy venison cheaply your way? I love it.
Getting your veggie beds hoed would be a good feeling. Glad your pain is receding.

Wouldn't even know where to buy venison up here, it is not even a common feral animal in this area. I like chevron but we no longer keep goats, too many feral dogs and I don't think I could go through loosing my animals to dog attacks again.

I was about to say "that's a shame" about the venison & then realised how silly that would be. It's a good thing that you don't have feral deer. Feral dogs? Eek. That's awful.

While I have not been as active as usual due to my health problems, It does get frustrating with the feeling of fighting an uphill battle to fight a lot of the myths around weight loss. There is so much "common knowledge" which is often misleading, wrong or outright dangerous. It is not just diet myths but myths around exercise and "Bro Science" and very misleading exercise advice from popular magazines and celebrities.
