Lift, Train, Fitness

Ohhhh shit, you're pregnant !! I'm so pleased for you, congratulations. How far along are you???
I am due in June, and it has been a bit of a shock to the system.

I have another doc appointment tomorrow arvo, feeling nauseous tonight but at least I don't need to go into the gym to coach.

Had bad nausea late last night, feeling ok this morning, time to head to the gym for a light bench press session, I need to make the most of bench days while I can, at 12 weeks Bench Press will be a NoNo at which time I will have to swap to machines YUK because it will be bad to lie flat on my back.

After the gym it will be time to hit the football fields to get in my 5k walk.

I don't like not being able to train at full capacity, but at least I can do some training.

Weight is stable which is good, as you should not generally be gaining in the first trimester.

Back from the gym

after warmup

CG Bench Press 3 X 10 @ 60 kg, much lower intensity than usual and 20 kg lighter.
PL DB Bench 1 X 10 @ 20 kg, almost forgot situps are a NoNo, had to drop the weights rather than sitting up with them as usual
Incline PL DB Press 3 X 10 @ 15 kg, light but at least I didn't need to sit up between sets like flat bench
PL Tricep Extensions 1 X 10 @ 30 kg, dropped weight at end of set, same safety concerns as PL DB Bench

5 km Walk at football fields
100 pushups

Just got back from Doc appointment, All of my blood test results were spot on, booked for another scan next week and another doc appointment the week after that.

Comment from Doc "You are too healthy" :D

For those who are new here and think that as a coach etc I have never had weight problems you would be wrong, but it is possible to turn things around and maintain good health in the long term. Also bear in mind that If you measure health by that obnoxious BMI number, I would count as morbidly obese lol. I have dealt with many of the same issues that a lot of members have to deal with but it is possible to move on and be healthy.

Build lean muscle to build better health !

Oh, poor you. You're TOO healthy, HAHAHAHA

No training today, just did not feel up to it, I have been tired and irritable all day with no ability to concentrate. Mood swings are a bitch !!

I probably have not eaten enough today so far but have had a complete lack of appetite, I am not going to force myself to eat.

:) Now I´m imagining you as a slowcooker. Keep being kind to yourself.

lol, much more energy tonight, had a good sleep this afternoon, slept for 4 hours. speaking of slow cookers, I should prep some meals in the crockpot to freeze for those days when hubby and I don't feel like cooking.

In the past, freezing meals has not worked so well because the older boys would be lazy and eat them all in preference to actually cooking for themselves but with only 1 teen at home now pre prepared meals may stay in the freezer longer than 2-3 days :)

When all the veg in the garden ripens I will also have a lot of preserving to do.

as things progress I will need to become more organised, despite being healthy pregnancy will be harder on my body and energy levels than for a much younger lady.

I had a colleague years ago who told us (on her 42nd birthday) that she´d soon be a grandmother for the third time. That´s still a majorly weird idea to me! I guess having your teens eat homemade stuff from the fridge is still preferable to having them eat ready-made pizza and mac&cheese...

Managed to get some work done in the garden yesterday, planted a heap of new seedlings and a new raspberry bush. Also tied up the tomato plants as they were beginning to fall over with the weight of the tomatoes beginning to grow.

time now to head out and get some exercise in, feeling tired and a little nauseous but walking should reduce the sick feeling.

I did lots of gardening yesterday too Tru. It feels good, doesn't it? Our tomatoes are still inside & only about 3cm high. We put them outside during the day. We can see snow from our house today & it got down to 0C last night!
I hope you find some more energy Tru & the sickness goes away soon. I was lucky not to get any during either of my pregnancies :blush5: I know I was lucky.

Temps are a bit different up our way, it is only about 10:30 in the morning and already over 30 C . It is also hot enough at night to need a fan on to be able to sleep. Just hope the heat does not kill the new seedlings.

Just had a snack on some cold chicken left over from the chook I roasted last night. Docs instructions were to have a sweet drink when the nausea hits bad, so far so good it works. For my boys I always tried ginger but it never really worked nor any of the other old wives tales remedies.

Because I usually maintain a keto diet, the addition of more sweet food to my diet has been odd, but my weight is where it should be and blood sugar levels are fine.
