Lift, Train, Fitness

storms were no where near as bad as forecast, got some good rain in the water tank, storms are supposed to be worse today but will believe it when I see it.

About to head down to the shed for Squat and light deadlift day so I can clear my head for study later.

Also just ordered a good quality FID bench (birthday present from son 3) rated at 300 kg which should be delivered early next month so I can add in some decline work into my training again.

Saturday is polling day here for the state election, not that my vote counts for much as I am not in a swing electorate. some of the outright lies from some of the parties this time around has been horrendous (One Nation and Palmer Party)

Had a good session in the gym, I will post it in the strength challenge thread shortly.

I am dripping in sweat, the humidity is oppressive today.

on the playlist for todays training was a variety of artists.

AC/DC
Gangajang
Ritchie Valens
The Angels
Roxette "Hold on tight, you know she's a little bit dangerous"
Queen
Alice cooper
Quiet Riot
Helen Reddy'
Billy Idol
Def Leppard

storms went around us again but got some rain in the tank.

scales are back moving in the right directing with a couple of big drops over the past week, mostly getting rid of the bloating from my cycle and healing from my allergies but back down to a level I have not seen for a couple of months.

I couldn't do any of your workouts but I like the playlist! Glad the storms weren't as bad as predicted: water is much better than destruction. And great to hear the scale id going your way again, if only because it means your allergies aren't plaguing you as much.

Nice playlist.. I've been listening to a lot of Pantera while doing my training sessions lately. Nothing gets me fired up like Cowboys From Hell :)

Great to hear that the scales have dropped for you, Tru. Is the Angels' song "Am I ever gonna see your face again"? I loved Doc Neeson!

another steamy hot day, 35 degrees before lunch

Happy with training today but I do have some second day DOMS in my quads which feel better after the walk to and from the shed for my training. The DOMS however made getting on the floor for the foam roller snow angels rather comical.

Full training session posted in strength training challenge.

It has been a shocking weekend, I have only just had the power come back on after it went off Friday night due to storms. It has been very hot and very humid. The generator was able to keep the fridge running and water flowing but could not run the AC, Cooking was BBQ.

I really couldn't cope with the heat & humidity in Q'Land. I had to take my jumper off yesterday & I was thinking "I'm not quite ready for Summer yet".

ok, I have had time to catch up on what happened over the weekend, turns out that the power was taken out by a tornado, no wonder it took all weekend to fix.

I am dripping in sweat after a good training session, however I already had a thin film of sweat before I started because it is sooo hot outside. Will post session in strength training challenge.

Oh wow, a tornado taking out the power and you basically not knowing because you had no power sounds... intense. I'm not too thrilled about the upcoming winter but it's a lot better than your weather.

Just wait cyclone season is beginning (cyclone 2020-21 season, which runs from November to April) it is supposed to be a big cyclone season this year due to the La Nina weather conditions.

there is a 67 per cent chance of more cyclones than average this year On average Australia sees nine to 11 tropical cyclones each year, with four crossing the coast

we were owner builders for our home and we had to build it to meet cyclone standards the house should handle a cat 1-3 ok anything bigger and we would be in trouble.

anything bigger and we would be in trouble.
But knowing you, you'll have your emergency plans all worked out if something bigger seems to be looming! I mean, the house might be damaged, but so long as you and the team are away and in a safe place... :)

The more extreme weather is worrying, though - and the perceptible shifts in the seasons. Around here, harvest has been getting earlier and earlier - it's thoroughly begun now.

it has been a mixed week, had lawyer appointment about the challenge to mums will, after sticking to what we wanted he who shall not be named was given an extension to how long he can live in the house and the rest of mums will stays as it was written which is all we were concerned about. mum was very strong willed and would be rolling in her grave if the provision that G could not have another woman living in her house was removed from the will. I am happy it did not need to go to court and he blinked first, I am as stubborn as my mother was.

My FID bench arrived this week and I picked up some more weight plates and DBs however a pair of 30kg hex DBs are out of my budget at the moment as is more calibrated plates. Hubby reckon that he is set for choosing B'day and Xmas presents for me into the foreseeable future lol because I will always be looking for more weights.

with the will stuff out of the way and my final exam for the year tomorrow most of my stressors for 2020 are done with hopefully for a better 2021
