Lift, Train, Fitness

Just had hubby call to let me know the results of his scan, for torn muscles, I probably should feel a little bad for asking him to bring the detailed report home after he has our GP look at the results this afternoon, just so I can compare the theory I had as to which muscles were torn with the scans to consolidate my anatomy knowledge.

but on the other hand, when he first injured himself playing football, I warned him not to go back too early and to give it an extra week, which he ignored and now has a more serious injury, ending his season rather than missing 1 extra week.

Had my followup doc appointment, I need to change brand for my Vit D as the one I am taking is having no effect, with my D levels measuring at below 1/5th of what I should have in my system to meet the minimum normal

50 nmol/L is normal, mine is in single digits.

in my region 5-19 minutes sun exposure "Should" provide Vit D needs, it doesn't, and the stats show that only 6% of Vit D tests in Queensland are deficient, not sure what the stats are for severe deficiency like mine.

Probably non-existent except for people who are genetically predisposed.

At least all of my other test markers are perfect, but lack of Vit D can cause a whole lot of health problems, I thought I was on top of it with the supplemental D but either have a bad brand or a bad batch, either way it will be a trip to the chemist later.

I'm really glad you're on top of the Vitamin D matter - at least, on top of it to the extent of knowing what you need, and that the current supplements aren't giving it, and on the track to getting something better.

Another assessment done and passed, happy with 80% on sport psychology test this morning, time to relax for a bit before getting into more study for Anatomy of the respiratory system and the heart.

todays task has been setting up a new notebook. my laptop started glitching during the week, hubby and I decided to err on the safe side and get something small just for my uni work, for both home and on campus, being small it will be better on campus than my larger laptop.

Smells like my late lunch is cooked, so time to grab the chicken out of the air fryer.

Probably sensible given your study load. It'd suck if you were out for a couple of days while arranging for a new device.

managed a solid session in the gym last night, I am still a long way from my best however solid sets, perfect form weight moving smoothly was a good sign but the intense fatigue after walking back up to the house is still a major concern. At least I didn't skip the cardio warmup lol and no cramping.

At least it's progress. Being sick sucks, kudos to you for still sticking to all the things you know are good for you. Indomitable will indeed!

Took the liquid Vit D this morning, too early to notice any difference for a while.

Tomorrow I will be heading to the hardware store to get the materials for my lifting platform, with the fatigue problem I have not felt up to full deadlifts, making do with KB deadlifts and rack pulls but I need to be deadlifting. A little bit of carpentry and I will have a platform for under $200 rather than paying thousands for a commercial platform and most don't meet competition specs.

Planted out comfrey into the swale bed today and took the seeds for more comfrey out of the fridge and planted into pots in the greenhouse.

I am finding that the liquid Vit D makes me queasy.

Just posting an update while my lunch (first meal of the day so could be called breakfast) cooks, 3 mutton chops with whatever veg I can find in the fridge. also waiting for a delivery of roadbase for Ds wall, truck should have been here by now. Cannot head into town for shopping and hardware store till truck gets here.

Waiting for a delivery is so tedious. I hope they showed up promptly so you could get going. Sorry to hear about your stomach not liking the new vitamine delivery system.

Truck arrived but then hubby just got called out to a fire, so hardware store trip is on hold as it takes two to load some of the timber wee need.

Feeling rather down right now, a goods friends mum just died, we were treated as family and she was the godmother of our eldest son. Son 1 is at work so he doesn't know yet. We will watch the live stream of the funeral in Canberra.

I'm sorry to hear that. Losing people is tough at the best of times and when you can't even go to the funeral/support the family in person that must make it so much harder.

training session completed, lightish endurance and explosive power, 10 X 10 on bench, 40 second rest, explosive reps, followed by accessory work.

Also lifting and carrying timber, we will be building the lifting platform on Friday when little miss is at childcare, we don't want her around when the nail gun etc. are in use.

Not bad considering it is shark week combined with major fatigue. Mental clarity is continuing to improve as I build up to a full dose of melatonin each night.

Started work on the lifting platform, once the boards were down it takes up more space than expected but still fits just. Need to get more nails for the frame, the ones I have are a little short and hubby was getting frustrated with them as he insisted he was going to build it lol. Will get more nails tomorrow. If it makes D happy to build the platform for me he is welcome to.

Little miss helped a little, and then spent time rearranging my gym, loading plates onto a barbell, bench press with me taking the weight of the bar in the spotter position and insisting that I run the agility ladder, skipping and hanging from the TRX straps before she then used them as a swing by climbing on the power cage safety bars and swinging across to the other side to land on an aerobics step she placed as a landing pad. Kettlebells and medicine balls were re-arranged and the foam rollers became a tower in the middle of the floor.
