Leslee's Diary - This time I'm doing it for me...

Thanks everyone for your fabulous comments and praise, managed to fit 7 exercise sessions into 5 days, so did well with that goal this week!

Well this week has gone well, last day of the term for me, so now have 2 weeks of holidays home with the kids, that will be great. Got roped in tonight to play for my old field hockey team, was supposed to be substitute but ended up playing 50 minutes...have not played in almost 5 years, but it all came back to me pretty quickly thank goodness, I must say I was very nervous...had to wear this itsy bitsy little dress, god I would of died in it a few months ago, but it wasnt too bad, it was a size 10 (I think that is 8 american) and very short....ewww, anyway I fitted it so that was the main thing.

The other great thing is my fitness, it is so good now, I managed the game no sweat and felt much fitter than I ever have.

The other bonus is the total of calories you burn...I think I have almost burned 700 today with my circuit training this morning and my hockey game tonight (I'm a forward so do a lot of sprinting)

Hope you all have a good weekend... :D

:D Went for a nice quiet stroll along the beach today...was nice because my leg muscles are killing me from the hockey last night...really shows when you do a different kind of exercise how your muscles have to respond. Anyway was nice to get out in the fresh air, even if it was freezing cold:D

Does this mean you're only 1kg of your goal weight. That is fantastic. Cant wait until I'm at that stage.:)

You should post some pics of you in your little skinny field hockey dress!!!! I bet that burned a zillion calories!!!

Two and half pounds and then you will be our Jedi Maintenance Master Yoda. Good it feels to goal reach!

Ah what wouldn't I give to be a size ten, I don'tthink I've ever been a size 10 in my entire life! You're so close to your goal now I'm sure you'll get there pretty quickly, hope you are enjoying the weekend!:)

Well, Tuesday here and things are going quite well....seem to be averaging about 1200-1300 calories lately, which is good. I am on holiday as it is school holidays, I have always found holidays hard to keep to my exercise routine, so that is my goal this holidays. So far so good, managed 2 exercise sessions yesterday and have just finished my morning session today. My legs were sore all weekend from the hockey, so sore I could barely move, I guess I had stripped away the muscle with all that new activity.

Have not weighed myself this week as it is that TOM.

Am off to a conference on Thursday afternoon, so will miss about 3 of my exercise sessions which bums me out. Will have to exercise in the weekend (someting I don't do much anymore as I fit 8 - 10 sessions into the 5 days anyways) this week to fill my exercise quota, but if I do 2 today, 2 tomorrow and 1 on thursday that will be 7 sessions this week anyway. If I can get one session in on the Sunday that will be the weeks 8.

Well just finished my second exercise session for the day...did a bit of a circuit tonight, bike, ab work, skipping, leg work, arm work, 100 running step ups, bike....30 minutes

I am thinking I need to add a couple of longer sessions in here and there....30 minutes morning and night is really all I have time for, but a couple of longer sessions may help the fitness level...even if it was only an extra 10 minutes....will have to see where I can fit this...:D

500 calories eaten so far today, just over 550 burned today....still have not had dinner, not decided what I want:eek:

Wednesday...
Well got up and did my 40 minutes exercise this morning as opposed to me normal 30 minutes. Did 20 minutes on my stepper and 20 minutes skipping. Broke it up into 10 minute blocks as it works my legs harder then having to change exercises more often.:D

Total workouts so far this week - 5 (2 hours 40 minutes so far)

Heres to a good day...

Hello Mum, I've just read your diary for the first time. Wow! You are doing so very excellent. I see the key is exercise, exercise, exercise! Congratulations! Well done!

Just finished my evening session, did 35 minutes, 30 minutes skipping and 5 minutes on my stepper in the middle to break up the skipping a little.

Have managed to burn over 600 calories today so am really happy about that. The key for me to maintain will be my exercise, have eaten 700 calories today (that includes dinner) but am having dessert soon, so that will reach 1200 at least for the day. That is what I want though, I want to be able to enjoy my food and have things without feeling the guilt, exercise gives me that I am finding, that ability to feel guilt free about my food.

If I can burn around 500 - 600 calories on a daily basis that more than makes up for the occaisional treat.

Total exercise sessions this week - 6
Total time spent exercising - 3 hours 15 minutes

Well, have just finished 30 minutes on my exercycle, up and down hills....phewww, did 60 sit ups, a hundred from pilates and 20 push ups as well at the end......not much but at least it is something.

I go away today for a couple of days, so exercising is highly unlikely other than gentle strolling, but at least I have done my exercise for today.

Total exercise sessions this week - 7
Total time spent - 3 hours 50 minutes

:D

that's a great point, mum. About using the exercise to compensate for treats. I remember many years ago someone I knew started exercising..and after a half hour session she would go get a bowl of ice cream. And her reasoning was that she did the exercise in order that she could eat the ice cream and it not do any damage.

I think you've just taught us our first maintenance lesson!!

Well, had a good few days away, I must say I didn't watch my eating at all, but no damage done :-[

I have decided to take one of the tools of my diet away today, for 10 weeks I have religiously filled in my fitday.com diary, but today I have decided to see if I can keep to my lifestyle change without having to write everything down.....it is weird I feel like I'm losing a part of myself...but anyway don't want to have to write my food and exercise down forever. ;)

so this last 2.2lbs is mine, I have to get rid of it....but I have to do it on my own....wish me luck ;D

Man oh man!!! You are almost at your goal! I'm soooo jealous right now, you have no idea :) Great job, tho, and congratulations :D

Hey mum, I think that's a great idea. Your brain is probably very programmed right now as to what kind of food to eat, in what portions etc. So I wish you luck with that.

And maybe it's the shakeup you need to lose that very last little itsy bitsy teeny weeny bit of weight left. You can do it!!!

Hi Mumma! I have missed you so much!
Hey, are we still gonna be able to chat and stuff after you reach your goal...which is right around the corner.

Hey u, for sure...I am going to be a constant in here as I need the motivation to keep my ticking along....

I have missed you heaps too! where have you been????

I am 1kg away from my goal but right now I may as well be 20kg away...lol

Back to work tomorrow so that will help me get back into routine, I have kept my exercise up to 2 sessions 4 days a week and on the 5th day 1 exercise session BUT have been eating mostly what I feel like so have slipped very much into maintainence mode...need a good kick up the bum!

Have started playing hockey again and that is good, it has helped me realise just how fit I have become. 70 minutes of hockey seems like nothing now.:D

Good to hear from you, mum. One kilo to go is amazing!!! And you've done this n just ten weeks, right? So happy for you.

Well just wanted to share that I finally did it....have been exercising about 6 hours a week and ensuring most of the time that the food I am eating is quality food, but have had at least one treat day a week!:D

Managed to lose the 12 kg (about 26lbs in about 13 weeks) so am stoked;)
