Leslee's Diary - This time I'm doing it for me...

i know what you mean about a sticking number. my body used to be stuck at 129. i was exactly the same weight for weeks one time and i was beginning to think that someone had messed with my scale making 129 the only number it would read. eventually i went down though. and then up again-- but thats another story for another time. good luck, i know you can get past this mini plateau. don't sell yourself short!

I've always found whenever I've tried to lose weight, if I can stick it out through TOM I will ofter drop some weight soon after. Sometimes that has been the only time my weight has dropped in the whole month. But its a challenging time to stick with it. It sucks how guys get such fast results, but we gotta luv 'em.

Yeah...thanks for the support..it just amazes me that he lost so quickly...he didn't even do it intentionally just jumped on my bandwagon....doesn't that kill yah!

good day today with the 35 minutes on the cycle....no bad food choices to speak of but was really tempted by a small chocolate freddo frog...but managed to resist....

I can believe I have not had chocolate for 7 weeks.....I love chocolate and cheesecake...they are my two biggest ills.....:D :D

Heres to another week...tommorrow is queens birthday so we get Monday off...yipeee a short week!:D

Well done on giving up the foods you like the most, that's a really big achievement! I'm determined to only eat healthily this week as I slipped up twice last week.

Hmm you've reminded me I need to get the tyres on my bike blown up to go out at some point.:)

he didn't even do it intentionally just jumped on my bandwagon

That makes it even worse!!! Just another area where we women have to work harder and smarter....nothing new under the sun, is there? :D

Well worked out I eat far too much bread....especially in the weekend (had 7 slices yesterday)eeeeeek that is not usual but it is common for me to have 3 or 4 slices of bread on a saturday and sunday...even if what is inside is good the bread isnt, so even though on those days my calories are still low my carbs and fat are high.....not good!!!!

The other revelation is this....I HATE JOGGING!!!!!!

BUT I really like cross country running.

I went to take the dog for a walk today and then got really excited because I decided to go through our local bush walk track....when I got there I decided I may as well jog it, the track itself is only 1 and a half miles but man did it feel good. running through mud and puddles, running on gravel and up and down little hills through the bush, and only being able to see a couple of metres in front of you at a time...I just loved it, it only took 15 minutes of my 50 minute walk but boy it was fun!

That is when I realised that I always used to love this type of running, give me a paddock or an off road situation, some puddles or mud to run through and I love it!!! I was always really good at it too.

I am going to try and find a running group to join in with...but until then I might just do this run once a week when I have time.....unfortunately i don't have any time in the mornings or evenings to do this run as it takes my 15 minutes to get to the track itself and I have 30 minutes max in the morning plus it is dark...

Anyway quite the revelation....

I am going to cut right back on bread completely and see how it goes!

Congrats on the running. I too enjoy runnning and just kep plugging away at my 3 mile walking trek. Just keep trying and you will go a little further each time! My hubby can lose weight just by saying it I SWEAR! It can be so frustrating! Keep up the good work....Your posts keep me inspired!

Geez, you soooo rock! I am so impressed as I find it hard to find the time for workouts and stuff, but I've no kids yet.
Mom's are amazing. Have fun running and thanks for saying nice things in my diary!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Isn’t it wonderful when we find out new things about ourselves and isn’t it sad that we have forgotten what we love.

You know you make a good point about the bread. I love bread. I always have. My favourite is fresh white bread. I have made the leap from white bread to a nice multigrain dark rye bread, however I love turkey sandwiches and the thought of putting turkey between two pieces of lettuce instead of bread just is not appealing to me. I figure I eat at least 4 pieces a day. I don't butter my bread which is good, but I would like to cut bread out of my diet almost completely.

Hey I have an idea....I think I am going to challenge you. Lets try to go a whole day without bread. I think I just might be challenging myself more than you but hey why not. In fact lets see if we can go three days without bread.

I know your days and my days are like 14 hours or so different in which case your probably around noon or so Monday June 5 right now. I am going to start tomorrow morning which will be my Monday. Let me know if your up for the challenge. Of course anyone else who would like to be in the challenge is welcome as well.

Oh yes I'm up for the challenge...is pita bread ok, or out too? Lol....I don't butter my bread either, but do think it is the bread that is the problem...

I will start tomorrow too, just had salad on pita for lunch...:D

Well just finished my workout for the evening...30 minutes of skipping, longest I've ever managed to skip for....the radio was thoroughly annoying me though, kept playing slow songs...not what you need when your skipping that is for sure!

With my run/walk this morning and the skipping this evening that is 538 calories burned.

Eaten today - 977 calories (no bread other than the wholegrain pita) probably wont eat anything else...if I do it will be a pear or apple, I know those calories are low...but oh well:p

naughty naughty, mumma! :p You gotta eat!

Lol, nah you are doing great. Your focus is inspiring
I know how hard it can be cutting back on carbs, but you get used to it surprisingly fast.
Good work on the run too! It is pretty fun aye!
It's raining something chronic here at the moment so no running or me :(
Hope everything is going great mumma!

Proud of your last few entries!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo :D

About the pita. It's up to you. Actually I would like to start the challenge tomorrow because this am I got up made toast and ate it then I realized what I did. What a bad habit I have formed. So we can both start fresh tomorrow!

Good luck.

Y'all are totally right about the bread. Bread is my enemy. LOL!!!!!

I bet if you try it for a week you'll notice a difference. Especially if you are at a plateau or don't have a lot more to lose (like you mum). Cutting out the bread may be the "shake up" your body needs to get those last few pounds gone. Just load up on fruits and veggies and see what happens. Good luck!!!

Survived one day without any type of bread...given I only ever eat grain or pita bread in the week days but it is still bread...so check one day off....

My major problem is the weekends when we tend to have sandwiches, but I'll try for a free week and then maybe try for a bread free weekend...

Got in 30 minutes on my stepper this morning and used weights for about 5 minutes while on the stepper.

Did 30 minutes hard workout on exercycle tonight and then 60 crunches.

Total burned - 560calories
Total eaten - 1143 calories

Have managed to get my 2 daily sessions in for Monday and Tuesday and worked out both days in the weekend so that is a great start so far!

Really focussing on cardio this week and less on strength and weights.

Thanks for noticing my success. I am the same with bread. I am much better not having it. The program I am on is a low carb one. After being on it for a short while I no longer have any cravings. I also notice when I eat bread, its not long before I'm hungry again, and it bloats me up. So all the best with that:)

Good job on the no bread... Congrats on your first full day without it :D I really gotta do that as a goal... I love all breads,YUMMMY!!!! Well, Have a GREAT day and keep up the EXCELLENCT work on your exercises.Oh yeh, DRIKN YOUR WATER;)

Hi Name Buddy! I've never been able to cut out the bread. I did switch to bread that is whole wheat w/ 3 or more grams of fiber per serving. That seems to have helped. I also replaced white rice w/ Basmati rice. It's still white, but it has the nutritional content of brown rice (which I can't stand). The only one I like is Basmati Rice from India, not from Thailand. That's super starchy for some reason. It drives me nuts, though, since the packages are almost identical. When my husband goes to the store for me, I have to threaten him w/ his life if he doesn't read the packages for the "from India"!!
