Lena's corner

I'm glad you're feeling that you're back on track. That's awkward about your gym being closed. When will it reopen? I hope you can find a good alternative to keep you feeling happy and motivated while it's not available.

yeah i'm really sad about it closing. it reopens on september 1st, but i'm leaving for budapest few days later, so i'll be able to do just maybe one training :sigh:
i just hope i have great classes on campus in budapest.

from next week i'll try focusing more on my elliptical, i have some light dumbells at home and a pilates ball. the only thing is i find eliptical boring every day, so i really don't know how i'll do this. but i'm going to try it for a week and see how i feel about it.

Hey Lena, I wanted to say hello and see how you're doing, you were kind enough to stop by my diary and urge me on, thank you ;) I'm sorry about your gym being closed, I'm very reliant upon mine now, I would be pretty upset. I know the elliptical can be boring but it is such a great workout...I hope you can figure something out that will work for you, although those aerobic tapes sound awesome!

yesterday i ended up having a montana whole wheat tuna sandwich at woork (it has 345 cals) but i didn't eat hard boiled eggs for dinner, so i kinda compensated there.

today's food:

breakfast: six misura whole wheat biscotti (1 is 30 cals, rich in fibres) with liver pate and kefir yogurt
snack: nescafe vanilla cappucino
lunch: salad - lettuce, 1 small cucumber, 1 pepper, 1 tomato 3 small slices of veal (left from yesterday's lunch), three slices of cheese and balsamico dressing :) about 350 cals
snack: nectarines and fruit yogurt
dinner: don't know yet

hey sara thank you for stopping by my corner lol :) i am a bit upset because i'm scared i will not be as focused and that i will slip up. there the instructors are like drill sargeants, yelling at you to do more push ups, lunges, crunches and such, and i love that, it makes you work really hard. after one hour you feel like you can climb the highest mountain.
but i'll try and find something that fills me up at least half lol :)

Hey when you're on the elliptical do you play around with it at all? When I do the elliptical I move my feet around on the little platforms to work my inner thighs, my quads, I hold myself rigid and try not to bounce at all and give my glutes and quads a workout, it keeps my mind on making the most out of my workout and I feel like my own drill seargent. I'm only suggesting this because I can't push myself like that on any other machine, so maybe it would work for you too?

great tip i might try that. i do have fun with the elliptical usually but i did try using it every day and that's when i founf it really boring. i've been playing with the following idea:
15-20 minutes elliptical changing the pace my heart rate really goes up
stretch for 5 minutes
i remembered i have cindy crawford tapes so i can do that for another 45 minutes (since she does exercises for the legs and arms and the mid sections) and then do another 10 minutes on the elliptical (unless i'm really tired).
stretch for 10 minutes

i think i might do that for 3 times a week since it takes about 1.30 minutes and rest only elliptical and crunches. what do ya think of this people?

I think that sounds like awesome cardio, as it will certainly keep your heartrate up!

yes probably, i just hope i can stick to it. it should be a good workout since it includes both cardio but also some weights. unfortunately i don't have dumbbells heavier than 3 lbs.

liver goulash? :shudder: :D

with weights, you have to start somewhere, 3lbs is a good starting point.. then look around for heavier weights, you might even be able to get them second hand - do you have the good old american concept of garage sales, where people just unload all the crap they don't want for really cheap so they can buy new crap :D or even classified ads in the newspaper or online.

lol...i already do lift weights...6lbs at my usual workout in my aerobic class, this is why i said unfortunately hehe.

garage sale in my home town? croatians are too lazy and too much of ego maniacs to have one. we do have ads...but for second hand cars, cell phones and big and expensive things.

as for liver goulash hahahaha, not a liver fan are ya? well i do like it actually. and my dad made it for lunch so i'm taking some for dinner hehe.

chicken liver goulash:

chicken liver
onions
tomato sauce
seasoning
water

put some sunflower oil in the pot, saute onions (at least 1 large) for thickness, put liver, saute just to get the color and then season it, put some tomato sauce in and water to cover it all and cook until done hehe.

you can do this with any type of meat actually. beef takes about 2 hours but the rest is done in an hour or so. if i don't want to eat it with pasta, i just put veggies in also and have a low cal dish :)

i am having a better day :) i guess i needed a pitty party. but i am better :)

I missed hte pitty party - Im so sorry girl - I havent been the greatest friend lately:hug2:  :hug2: A bit to pre-occupied I guess

i think you definitely will :) especially if you continue being this focused.

I am glad things are looking better for you! I hope you have a great day!:)

thank you :) i am having a great day.

*update
well i only had nectarine for snack and no fruit yogurt, so i had some light ice cream (only 140 cals per 100g).

and i found an excellent recipše for a very low cal icecream, and its healthy.

use fruit you want, i prefer berries
1 banana
soy milk or low fat milk
some vanilla flavored sugar, but you can use splenda. i use fruit sugars.

blend the fruits, add the milk and sugar and mix until all ingredients blend together. put it in the freezer. and voila you got yourself a nice low fat icecream :D

i'm having some stomach problems today so i don't know if i'll be able to go to the gym, but if i don't go i'll workout at home.

my dad now made me angry because he started making comments that he noticed i ate more over the weekend and that it seems to him i'm avoiding exercise (i don't know where he got that from). that really pisses me off. and it makes me wanna jump to the fridge...i won't don't worry, but i'm still angry. like he's the one to talk...grrrrrrr

sorry for ranting. its better when i get out of my system in the diary.

yeah it is isn't it? i think i'm getting impatient for holiday to come and to go to bf's place and then come home be here for max 10 days and go. i really can hardly wait :) i'm tired of all the pressure and everyone around me is annoying me lately...i don't know, without you guys i would probably gain weight in 3 seconds.

so i think i still will go to my workout. just to get away from everyone home...i need to start living alone. ahhhh when will croatia have a better standard so i can actually afford to be by myself. damn!
