Lelu's diary A goal of health

I usually keep this in a small notebook in my bag but I want to give this a try. I'm 5 feet and 8 inches tall barefoot, and I'm currently 220 pounds. I really don't like the idea of having to put my history up here but it might help me make my way to a healthier me. I didn't grow up in a great environment and my parents form of control was keeping me indoors and bad food or no food. When I got old enough to learn about nutrition from a book (pictures) (I didn't have the internet til a year ago.) I started trying to have fruits, and vegetables, cooking my own food, and less of the bad stuff. My parents countered that by adding those weight gain tabs to my food I would cook or what they cooked and forced me to eat. I countered back by only having food that didn't needed to be cooked and can easily be hidden in my room. I think that what started my barely eating habit...

When I got away at age 14 I met a man that taught me what happens in a real family. I learn how to cook for real, grow my own food, sew, read better and talk.. (yes I was a force mute for 14 years) I didn't really workout cause I was too busy learning, doing chores, and dancing the foxtrot. I was finally getting to a good weight slowly. When I turned 15 I guess they finally called the cops and I was brought back during a trip to the store. A few months later I was lucky enough to be sent out of the state and away from them.. I'm not going to say how that happen.

A year later I met the love of my life and we moved out to live together. He has the opposite problem of me. Hes 90 pounds and eats over 6000 cals a day but still loses weight. I guess I got lost in helping him or it was the fact he ate everything before I even got a chance. I finally sat him down and told him he needs to stay away from my food.

So I'm trying to get to 170 pounds for many reasons. One my doctor wants me to be in the norm before something bad happens. Two If I get any heavier I will lose my current job. Three I have a second job interview in two months and I'm lucky enough it was a call back and they said I need to lose some weight before it. And four, I want to be healthier.. I hope to feel better about how I look and do things I'm told I can't do with how I am currently.. What I really want is shape my legs, flat my tummy, and work on my arms.

My current food intake of the day.
I went off my usual and ate one of those mini microwave pizzas.. I just got in last night and no stores are open at three in the morning. Looking at the bag it was 410 cals and 54g carbs.. wow thats going to add alot for today..
One can of soda 150 cals and 41g carbs.. another wow.. but I had to drink something.. again no stores open at 3 in the morning and it seems the family I rent from for my workspace took all my cups.. again..
Once the stores open I bought myself come oranges, apples, carrots, and a bottle of water that I been refiling.
I'm currently eating some of my carrots. yummy! If I eat the serving size it will 35 cals, and 8g carbs.

So.. So far I have had 595 cals and 103g carbs (that is if I do the carrot serving)

I'm feeling pretty good. I walked to the store that about a 40 minute round trip walking. I been up and down the stairs today to sand and cut for one of my projects. I did some weight workout, 10 minutes on my arms, and squats.

Thats it for right now. Will update later today. I promise the next one will not be this long..

Thanks for reading.

Hey lovely - thanks for sharing your story!!

Well done on wanting to lose weight and become healthy!!
You have plenty of motivation to reach your goal!!!

Wooohoooo!!!! :hurray:

YOU CAN DO IT!! Best of luck!!

Hey, I marvel at your strength, being able to write so expressively about what happened, it sounds like you've had hard times, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
I like growing food too :] do you still do that?
All the best and just keep going, you will get there!

Thank you justina.

Fetterless,
Yes I do still grow food. I moved into a apartment so I had to build a indoor garden. Right now its has three tomato plants, basil, and a lonely blueberry bush. My tomatoes are currently growing seven tomatoes as we speak and I'm trying to get the mate to get his mom to take the blueberry bush cause its too big and needs a mate to cross. I can use the room for more plants.

oh.. And I forgot.. I'm growing mushrooms. I'm alittle worry cause I don't know how to count them.. They are a treat and they are always cooked in smoky butter... How would I calculate that.. I like the stems while my mate likes the tops.

Just count the butter - the mushrooms are basically zero cals, most likely.
Olive oil is better imo!
And I'm jealous of your blueberries :) I think it's too cold round here for those.

Its why they are indoors. The mate bought it without looking anything up first.. I would keep the little guy but I know a better self fertilizing and smaller size bush.

Thanks I'll remember that when they are become treats.

To Lelu - Keep your focus on the goals to become a healthier you and thank u for sharing your story....it takes alot of growth to be able to identify why we eat the way we do and alot of strength. I will be cheering you on!!

Well my last post for today.. Hopefully. I been working on one of my wood projects and my tool over heated lol, so I decided to take a nap before doing any more today.

After my lovely nap I did my second half of my work out, 20 minutes on my arms, a few hip routines. I will be doing my squats soon then I have to clean the room.

Adding to what I have eaten today
One apple, medium 81 cals, and 21 carbs.
One orange, medium 56 cals, and 16 carbs.
A can of tuna in water. 120 cals, and 0 carbs
And one serving of cheese, 110 cals and 0 carbs.

Adding that to earlier.. 962 cals and 140 carbs.
Can you believe I'm full?

Now I'm off to finish my workout and clean my workroom up.

Hey lovely you are doing great!!!
well done
Your calorie intake (962 for the day) sounds a bit low though for your weight. Maybe add 200 kcal more. i think.

KEEP UP THE GOOD JOB!!! :coolgleamA:

Well its a new day and I'm feeling pretty good, kinda sore but that happens with a new workout. I havn't had food yet but looking at the fridge as I'm typing.

I'm having a cheese and roast beef on oat bran bread. There is no nutrition label on the roast beef but looking it up says 50 cals, 4g of fat but nothing on carbs.. or protein per ounce and that is all I have left here. so all together it makes 200 cals, est 26g carbs, est 13g of protein, and 15g of fat.
I did have a soda cause the kid down stairs open the wrong pop, it seems all of them down stairs drink diet.. But that is 150g cals, 41g of carbs.

So for my breakfast equals up to 350g cals, est 67g carbs, est 13g of protein, and 15g of fat. I say thats pretty good for a breakfast.

After that its time for my workout and off to work.

carrots 35 cals, and 8g carbs, ans 1 protein
a bottle of apple juice 330g cals, 84 carbs

Equals 750 cals, est 159g carbs, est 14g protein and 15g of fat.

I did some of my workout and going to finish it after this. And yes I also believe thats low.. But thats my norm.. Also I weight myself only a half hour ago and it read 211 pounds.

I'm mostly sore today and I was in a better mood earlier but I got a call.. It seems by the courts without my knowing declare my sister to be assigned to me for a protector or whatever you call it.. And it gets better.. my parents get mandatory visits in a venue of their choice.. And I have to be there..

Well the day is young so I'll update before bed.

End of the day and I forced down a frozen dinner... with a teaspoon of butter to make it taste better..

so butter is 60g cals.. I will update this later.. the room with the fridge is being blocked.
the meal thing was 250g cals, 25g carbs, 11g protein, 12g fat.
