I love your workout mentality, and I wish I could play tennis, but I fear I'd injure my elbow and, I probably need to get a bit stronger first. You've done an exceptional job, and your commitment to losing weight is paying off big time. :)

do you have a bad elbow? the only way you really hurt your elbow in tennis is if you swing badly. what a lot of people don't realize is that your body does most of the swing, your arm just follows through, so i doubt you need more stregnth, just make sure you use your legs and body to swing and you'll be all set. also when you use your body, you are working that core like mad!!!
 
Hello!!!!!!!! Sounds like you are still doing great. I just got home from my trip, had a good time and actually ate well..didnt get my exercise in...your running routine makes me feel very very slow ;-)

what a post!!!!

SO i am house sitting... its ok. but i found a routine that can work. i go to the house, sleep wake up at 4:30, go to the gym, which is the opposite way to work. since i'll be done so early, head to my house, which is on the way to work, relax eat. pay bills browse net blah blah, oh yeah shower, and head to work. today it worked like a charm. just 5 more days, well four since i don't work saturday. Today was cardio day. My endurance is going up. i put in 8.2 miles in 60 min. 8.5 including five min cool down. it was 960 cals total. This is up from 8.05 on thursday. Before then i never could manage 8 miles on level 10. When i get to 9 i will move up to 15. I am so impressed with myself. i am really pushing hard. I can't wait to be in mike position where i can focus on building stregnth, but i just want to maintain til i lose a bit more. i'm only 5'8" and 277, so i am not quite where mikezorr is yet. but i'll get there in the next couple months.

Story time. i'll keep it short. so saturday at my sisters graduation party, it was the first time most of my family had saw me since xmas. boy were they surprised when they saw me. I was getting comments like where's the rest of you! and some people were saying they feel bad for my ex now because i look so good lol. After that i went on a date, and i was getting the same thing from my date. she lives 4 hours up state, so she isn't around too often, but when she comes down we hang and now we go out. its fun times. you goes, i heard you lost some weight, but you are like half the size you were before! she was impress, as she is trying to lose weight too, and has lose about 11 or 12 lbs. so it was a good weekend indeed. Yesterday i got in about 1.5 hours of tennis, which would have been 2 hours, but i wanted to check out this spanish group around 8 pm. it was crazy everyone was just speaking in spanish, even when i approached, they only spoke to me in spanish, and it was so overwhelming i forgot everything in a instant, lol. but i warmed up to it and maybe i'll go again. who knows. Well that's all i got for now, i'll be playing tennis again today post work, so that'll be fun. i think i'll take wed and thurs off from tennis and maybe play friday. talk you you peeps soon.

ha supposedly i have a small frame but i have a huge ass chest, i think my lats and upper back make me look really big tho.

I did not hurt my elbow playing tennis, I injured it when I first started working out. It healed with rest, but I tend to favor it a little. I probably would not be a good candidate for tennis, not until I at least worked on my form. As you mentioned, I know I'll end up swinging from the arm and not with my body. Maybe I should get a racket and practice swinging lol.

boring day yesterday. went out to eat after work. had brilled salmon, with yellow riched and steamed green beans. no butter or garlic on anything. i also had a couple of coconut shrimp. nothing too bad there. today was elliptical day. did 8.3 miles in 60 min. which is another new record for me. i am slowly pushing to 9 miles per hour with the resistance set to 10. then i will go to 15. exciting. other than that not much else went on since i last posted. just blah yesterday and probably today as well. I may try tennis, but i may wait until tomorrow.

In other news, the jeans i just bought two weeks ago, a size forty for a little extra room. no longer stays up. kind of annoying. i am going to buy a smaller belt to help me keep these things up! I am alsor really sore from yesterday's workout! nice to feel the burn the next day. talk to you guys soon.

YAY:hurray: Yeah its annoying but how COOL IS THAT!?!?!? jeans that dont stay up are A-OK in my book hehe... means PROGRESS... oh sweet sweet progress! hehe.

I have some dress pants that are like that. I cant bring myself to go buy a bunch of new ones... bc i plan to keep trucking along... so ya i hear ya... thats the most frustrating this hehe

The food sounds healthy and yummy, good combo. I love Salmon and shrimp. I wish I could eat more of it. At some point I will, when the bills are paid down. lol

but the elliptical sounds scary. I think I have seen the machines before, I am scared I would mess up. I plan to join curves. Thanks for writing in my diary. Im sorry I dont write in your diary much. I get overwhelmed by how many peeps write. The diaries are overwhelming for me, but I will start posting more often.

SO here we are today. I have a case of the fridays. i was slow at the gym, i am slow at work. and i am slow at finally posting this. today was 3 circuits again, i increased the weight on everything and used dumbells. it was nice a hardcore. i played tennis last night, which is most likely why i am sooo sluggish. i am hoping to drop 2 or 3 pounds just to mkae sure i am down 60 when i hit new hampshire in a few weeks. i'm pretty confident i'll lose it so no worries there. had me a naughty lunch,well it was pretty bread heavy wtih a little bacon, but the rest was grilled chicken, and a bag of chips. it the lady is kinda sweet on my so she LOADED it with grilled chicken and i am soo full now. i opened the box and was like WOW. lol. so today i am going to torture myself and play tennis again along with tomorrow and sunday. my house sitting adventure is almost over and i can't wait to sleep in my wonderfully firm bed! actually i think i may just go home tonight and just go back in the morning to take care of the pets. tonight i am making talapia and brown rice, which i am excited about. talk to you guys later.

Its okay to splurge once in a while. You sound great though...getting in the exercise. I would have to say thats my downfall..exercise I get going good but if something breaks my routine (like going out of town) I have a hard time getting back on track. The food right now seems to be the easy part for me. (knock on wood)
 
How do you find tennis on your knees? It's something I wouldn't mind picking up when I get fitter, but my knees are pretty weak and don't fancy putting them under much stress.

You really should post a vid or something of you doing those jumps or pullups, would be great motivation :p
 
monday again..

Ok guys i'm back! no more house sitting. I have the internets again!!! So this weeking was alrighty. I got rained out of tennis on friday, but i made up for it on sat and sunday! 2 hours each day. nice nice nice. Today was normal circuit. nothing new to see there. got in and got out. Hit the scare per usual to find i dropped another 3 lbs. keep that ticker moving to the right i say! subday i went to my old church for the first time in over a year, and man i got nothing but compliments of how "skinny" i was. which i find funny, because i have a longggg way to go before i would remotely consider myself skinny. but you we are a our own worst critic, especially with me being an artist. I need to go hit a ton of journal/diaries, so i'll be around checking on every one.


Hey feenix. Tennis doesn't bother my knees one bit. the running ins in short burst and its a lot of lateral movement, so make sure you buy shoes that support your ankles. I've been playing since my heaviest, which wa about 380, and i had no probs. so feel free to jump in! oh and just for reference, it does bother my knees to run so, i don't know why it works that way.

heya, just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my diary, i see you truely are king of the elliptical! 60mins! i'm hoping to eventually work my way up there but of course that will take quite sometime.

i keep thinking that doing the treadmill on incline all these days finally paid off for me because i was working very similar muscle groups as the elliptical, of course not nearly as many with the arms included but slightly similar ones for the legs...but i think thats how i managed to get to the 10mins.

i have a quick question, i read this somewhere else on the forum ages ago so i need to look for that thread, but till then was wondering if when you started out on the elliptical if you were sort of going numbish in the foot area, sort of like it falling asleep, i guess because the legs are moving but since the foot is stuck in the same position it sort of goes numbish....it's hard to explain...but i guess my question is did you ever have a similar situation when you started on it? and if so, what did you do for it to stop?

Strange, you'd think tennis would be more stressful on your knees than running.

What sort of digital art/animation are you involved with if you don't mind me asking. Was always something I found interesting.

WOW congrats on another 3 lbs but honestly ya hit the gym daily and you do tennis a good cpl hrs a shot im not surprized to see you dropping thos numbers.

I hear ya abt hte skinny comment, I have a good dear friend of mine and she always tells me how im waisint away, yup lol have ya seen me lately waisiting away to nothing and skinny ha ha ha!!!

We are our own worst critics for sure...and it is best getting the compliments from ppl who dont see us regularly cuz they can see the difference the best:D

I had the same problem...It took me forever to find a tennis partner, no one i know is interested in it. I appraoched my cousin abt it a cpl yrs back when she moved closer to us she had never considered playing before but was happy to do it and we love it. I also got the girls into it and they love it too:D

My cous has now moverd away agian but we b0oth take once a week to commute to eachother to play:)
