Kureransu's Log.

Tuesday!

Ok, my peeps first.

Thanks for stopping by karl, diana, and melissa. Always appreciated.

Diana, the balls don't really hurt, so need to be scared lol. As far as you needing to lose 30, well i want to lose 40. I guarantee it will just as hard for me as you. Being so big made it easy to fall off, not its going to take a little more discipline, methinks.

Melissa, I'm always here for you babe. If you post i will respond and if you take too much time off i'll be on you! so. just don't leave. i think we are just in a comfort mode here on the forums, we are well underway, and even though the support is great, we took of the training wheel and can do it on our own. so we come in a little less, because we're no longer dying for support. we figured out the formula to our own success and are running with it. but hey at least we still show up!

Yesterday we played tennis for almost two hours, during that time i was frustrated with my crappy play and tossed my racquet. Well i tossed it harder than i thought and it go stuck in a tree lol. After a 10 minute delay i finally got it out, unfortunately it was a very wooded area, so even today i am still pulling twigs and thorns out my legs and hands lol.

Today was arms and shoulders. nice long workout. i ran 2 miles doing intervals. Since the track is so small at the gym its really convenient to do intervals on. It takes 12 laps to do a mile so, I would lightly jog one, then run one. I made sure to never walk, so i can still say i ran it. it was good times.

SOOO that was my day in a nutshell. how was everyone else's?

Clare... what the hell did you do to your balls?!?!?! Did i miss something here???? ugh... i better go back and read!:blush5:

i know you are and for that i am SOOOOO GRATEFUL! Someday we will need to actually meet in person and have a sweet ass tennis match and a 5k run!!! :) Its nice to have removed the training wheels...... i like that comparisson.... now... if only i could ramp up some momentum to ditch these last 5 lbs!!! I can smell 120....... but its just testing me!!!

ah, i love the mind games we play with ourselves in order to be able to say we ran or say we did X,Y,Z... hehe its awesome!!!

umm... did I hear threesome?... with Melissa?

Ooh, count me in :biggrinjester: I like threesomes...

Seriously though, sounds like it was a top ntoch weekend. Tennis is good stuff.

Karl.... you are BAD BAD BAAAD!!! lol Thats why we love you though.....

well amoung other reasons. You can join our threesome... as long as you bring props... and are ok with it being a foursome now... because i dont have the heart to kick one of our original participaters out.

( apologies to clare for turning his once squeaky clean and viginal diary into a porno dialogue:willy_nilly:)

Wednesday

Melissa, you are a riot!!! nothing happened to my balls, they are fine lolol. Yeah it would be nice to run a 5K together! we can only hope it becomes a reality.

So yesterday I decided to take a break from tennis, because i was sucking as of late, and i had played for six consecutive days! I went home, had fresh mushrooms and hummus, along with a piece of salmon. pretty good! Went to bed at about 8pm, woke up at 4 this morning, hit the gym where i did legs and legs lol. This week is a light week so i am doing sets of 12-15, instead of 8-10. After my fun crazy workout, i ran 3 miles, which was nice, and now i am at work. Hope to get back on the court this evening, but i need to find someone to play with. well, that's all for now. how is everyone doing? hope to hear from you all soon

Wow. I just spent the past hour going through your entire Diary because I have been hearing good things about it on the forums. I totally see the appeal :) Keep up the great work, man.

Well, I'm out of weight loss mode and more into 'redistribution' mode, and it's going alright. I have to follow my plan exactly though, or I completely fall off the tracks mentally. I don't think journaling is for me... I don't like to be honest when I slip up, and that makes for a pretty boring and useless journal, you know?

You inspired me today - so keep up the great work!

Thursday

Hi all. Glad to be an inspiration!

Yesterday i did two hours of tennis and did not throw my racquet! so proud of myself! today was chest and back, whihc was nice. ran intervals for 2 miles like on tuesday. Tomorrow is a 3 mile run wiht bis and tris sounds fun lol. I'll be at 12 miles for the week. For the winter i'm pretty sure i am going to join an indoor soccer league! it should be a blast, now i just need to research soccer and get on the field and practice! lol. I am such a dork. If soccer doesn't make it then i'll definitely do yoga, but my heart is with soccer for now. Ok I have a tip for you ladies. If you want to get the butt nice and firm, deadlifts are the way to go! My butt has never been so sore in my life!!! aww mai gawdddd! just saying though. makes sure its just deadlifts, not romanian, straight-leg, or sumo. anyway. that's ymy day, debating tennis today or not...... maybe i'll ahve dinner with a friend.. haven't had sushi in a while. How is everyone doing!?

That all sounds great.

Soccer is one of the best sports you can play, in terms of overall body conditioning and such. It doesn't tend to put any undue stress on the body (although there is potential for leg and head injuries), it's good for the joints, it's good aerobic exercise. Sounds fun!

There was a guy in my gym yesterday doing straight-leg deadlifts, and I was wondering why he did them that way and what the benefit was. I'll have to look it up.

I haven't had sushi in sooooo long, and I haven't had good sushi in even longer. I guess I'll just have to make some, or wait until I'm back in Vancouver (best sushi in the world, and inexpensive to boot) next month for Thanksgiving.

straight-leg dead lifts works your hamstrings. dead lifts works your back. they both work other areas, as it is a compound exercise, but that is the main difference.

Friday

Here we are. Then end of another week. Another week closer to all our weight loss goals! So yesterday... Played 2.5 hours of tennis, then went to the local store to purchase a soccer ball! I'm so excited to learn how to play, I plan to read the rules and look up how to dribble the ball amongst other things today. If I don't play tennis again I will go to the field and play around with the ball for an hour or so. So cool! So today was bis, tris, and abs, followed by a three mile run, totaling 12 miles for the week, which I'm satisfied with. Next week will be a tad different, with full body weights only 3 days a week, and then an hour of cardio the other two. The plan is this mon, wed, fri, full body weights, 2-3 miles of running. Tues, thurs, 5-6 miles of running. Should be fun! Weighed in today because of the challenge I forgot I joined, and i seem to be down another pound. Go me! 38 more to go! how is everyone doing today? I hope all is well.

You are doing awesomely well - getting really close to that goal.

I wish I had a fraction of your energy. I couldn't even drag myself off the couch yesterday, except to eat.

Can you come and do my workouts for me?

believe me, you wouldn't want to be me right now. i am soooo spent. i can't begin to tell you how happy i am i don't workout tomorrow. i wouldn't do workouts for you, but i would do them with you lol. Oh speaking of you, I did chin-ups today as an bicep workout. I was so surprised that i could do them so well, never trying them before. good times indeed.

weekend in review.

Soooo its sunday.. weekend was kinda ok.

Friday after work i went for sushi and played very little tennis. I say very little because i was showing someone how to play and didn't break much of a sweat. After I left my friends, I went and bought a soccer(foot) ball!!!! How exciting!

Saturday had a semi-stressful day with week two of my class. Afterwards taught another friend tennis basics, which wasn't too much of a workout for me. After a little relaxation, I walked tot he field and practiced dribbling and shooting the ball running up and down the field so that was 120 yards back and forth for an hour. after each shot attempt, i would jump up and grab hold of the top of the goal post (it was a soccer/football hybrid goal post) and do 5 pull-ups and 10 knee raises while suspended in the air. Great workout. After another rest, i went an bought cones and markers in case I played somewhere without a goal or lines on the field.

Today I went back out to the field for more soccer practice. Same thig as the night before, doing the pull-ups and knee raises after each goal attempt. I also ran a quarter mile around the track for good measure, then ran home (about one full block lol) because my tennis partner said he was at my house. We played two hours of hard tennis (finally a workout from tennis lol). My friend and I took a food break, then we went to the sports store where i bought another ball soccer cleats and a ball air pump. Brought him back to the field and we both practiced dribbling, shooting and trying to take the ball from each other, which will wear you down! I also had him doing the pull ups, which i also did plus chin ups this time, which was super hard for me because I am not tall enough to reach the bar without jumping. So what I was doing was jumping up then turning my hands around while suspended to do the chin up. He could reach either way, so blah to him. However, he was only doing sets of three while i was doing five. After a little over an hour, I did a 100 yard dash, which was not as hard as i thought. He did it too and was done. He took 3 breaks before we made it the one block back home lol. So i guess my fitness level is pretty high lol. But yeah a lot of body movement this weekend, which was nice. I really enjoy the challenge that soccer brings. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I need to plan my full body circuits for this week.

Hey, teaching someone tennis may not be much of a workout for you, but it's an investment into future workouts, because you're training a future tennis partner that you can run into the ground...

And yeah, I'd say your fitness level is pretty high. :)

Monday.

Hello true believers! lol

Yesterday i ended up doing a run/walk hybrid for a mile with another friend who is trying to get into running, so i had quite the sunday.

Well the work week has crept back upon us and i seriously have a case of the mondays... i didn't get to work until 10, which is really late for me. As i stated new workout regiment this week, full body circuits mon, wed, and fri. Run 3 miles on monday and friday post workout, and six miles on tues and thurs, when i don't lift. I'll be taking wednesday off from cardio. i need it lol. Today's workout was 4 sets of 5, pretty heavy weight. Each day will be a differ set of workouts, and some MAY overlap, and a different number of reps and sets. so here is the workout

all are 4x5

pull-ups, BW all 4 times

Flat barbell bench press. 225, 225, 235, 245

lunges- (lbs in each hand) 65(too much!) 60, 60, 60

skull crushers- 75, 75, 85, 95

seated military press- 135,135, 155, 155

DB bicep curls (lbs in each hand) 50, 50, 55, 60

squats- 275, 275, 275, 315

Core was a little different.

decline situps- BW 2x10

back extentions - BW 2 x 12

Side bends- 2 x 10 each side.

SO, after a crazy weekend of pure cadio and a ton of sleep, i clocked in a whopping 233 this morning! oh yeah i'm on fire!! lool not really. i'm down 7 lbs in 3 weeks, which is about right. It was just my big jump. So I'll be ahppy to report that i'm holing my own for the challenge, even though i have to weigh in again on friday to post that, I don't like it, but i joined! Look out melissa, I bringing the competition!

How is everyone doing today?

tuesday

So, yesterday I managed to get in an hour of tennis before the rain came and sept us away. It was pretty cool as well could see the rain approaching the court, which gave us time to pack up and run for the cars! This morning was no weights, a first in two months. On the other hand, I ran and boy did it run. I did 6.25 miles (a tad but more than a 10k) in an hour! It was sooo liberating! Tomorrow I rest on the cardio side and its a nice full body workout only. My legs need the rest anyway. So yeah! That's my life. I may hit the soccer field today.. i guess it depends on how i feel after work. I did hit the hot tub and the pool to relax my muscles then contract them, so they feel fine. but rest is good. No one answered, but i'll ask again, how is everyone doing today?

kureransu,

Never had a lot of intrest in soccer but I think it would be a great work out.

I had a bad weekend as far as food goes but still managed to lose 2lbs and I am very happy about that.

I really like reading your diary you are so up beat and the amount of work you put into your health is so cool, isn't it so amazing how good you feel after a really good workout.

Anyway thanks for posting everything you do as it is very inspirational to see that this can be done for us newbe's
