Cohen's Lifestyle Kristy's Journey... =)

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Hi there!

Yes, the coffee thing I found very hard at first hence my crack...but yep, sure enough it made me not loose for a week so definately not worth it!!! I think now that I have lived without it for so long - there's definately no going back! I've proved I can live without it fine so I think going back once I have completed would be a step back.

So I said I wouldn't weigh - grrrrr - curiousity got the better of me this morning as it's my normal weigh in day today - I was curious to whether I had gained from my awful week last week......and yes I had :( 1kg. But now the scales go awayyyyyyyyyyy and Kristy's head stops thinking! I am just going to plod along until my next weigh in at the clinic and not worry about my weight and just keep remembering that everyday I am choosing a healthy lifestyle for myself and thats the main thing!

Here's to a new week and a positive one! Will check in again soon.

Probably a good thing on all counts :)

YES!
Excellent Kristy. Good thinking. I'm really happy for you!! :) xo Cate.

Hi Kristy, glad you are back in a good place. You've done really well to get there. These are the things that decide whether we reach our goal. Snaps to you. x

Thank you for your kind words :)

I am definately back in the zone and it feels much better than self sabbotage!!! And now the weather is fining up and it is going to be great to go to the beach/walks etc and get moving.

I have completed a special project at work over the past few months and am being rewarding with a $400 voucher at Christmas time - it is going to be great to be able to go out and reward my hard efforts with some nice new clothes and shoes (my shoes are getting too big for me?!) .... new bathers here I come!!!!

Oh also another little piece of news I thought I would share with you all... my partner and I picked my engagement ring a few months ago (I still have not officially got it! waiting for 'the right time' and all that..) anyway, I had 'visiting rights' the other night and IT DOESNT FIT ME NOW! :( Which is good but also bad! It means once I do get it, I will not be able to wear it until I have it resized...damn :( But wow, I cannot believe I have lost weight from my hands and feet!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day :)
Kristy xo

Hi Kristy. I went down a shoe size & have a lot less trouble finding shoes to fit me now. I also wear a ring I haven't worn for 30 years! Instead of saying bad luck re needing the re-sizing I'll say well done Kristy! It's good to hear you happy sweets! Cheers, Cate.

Kristy that's great. You know, that ring will be a symbol not just of your love, but of what you did to get to where you are. So if you ever feel it get a little tight, you'll have a reminder of the strength you had, which will pull you through in the future, through any hardships you encounter. What a great motivator.

Good morning,

That is very true - it will be very symbolic :)

Today I'm feeling great!! Mmm I love my yoghurt with fruit in the mornings! It's something I look forward to everyday :) Cate, I notice you still have this even since you finished cohens, I am definately going too as well! Does the amount of yoghurt increase once you're on maintenance or does it stay at 175grams? Just wondering =o)

I decided to wear a skirt to work today that was way too snug before (size 10!!) and today it fits perfectly.... also starting to loose the bloated/yukky feeling after last week's episodes...

I was happy to find out that the place we're staying at for a few days in Denmark in January has BBQ's. I thought the rooms were self catering rooms but they're not... so it will be a little difficult, will have to be very prepared and take all our own stuff eg: chopping board, knives etc... but as long as I am really organised it shouldn't be too hard :)

Anyway, it's HUMP day and I'm looking forward to the weekend...

Check back in soon

Hi Kristy. I don't weigh any food on maintenance. I love my yoghurt & fruit for breakfast. I also have flavoured yoghurt (Lemon Vaalia) & a lot more than before. Yum. When I have eggs for breakfast I have 2 with about 2 mushrooms, 1/2 a tomato & 2 rashers of bacon(leanish) & I have 2 crackers with it. You may be able to eat toast but I can't. Following Cohen's maintenance really does work.
Congrats on the size 10 skirt. WOW!! xo Cate

Hi Cate,

Wow! That sounds yum haha! Sticking to cohens maintenance does not seem so hard after all. I know I'll do a good job on it :) Do you also eat a lot more fruit now you're on maintenance? Pre-cohens I was not a big fruit eater but now I have become addicted! I know it would still have to be limited but I'de love to be able to eat 3-4 pieces a day?

I'm in such a good mind set now I have been back on cohens 100% for 5 days. It really is true that the chemical inbalance makes you crave things so much worse. I just found myself CONSTANTLY thinking about what I'm NOT allowed on cohens... Ahh am I glad to be back!!!!! Now here's too getting to the end with no more hiccups :)

Sure do! I love my fruit! xo

Hehe yeah, my mind set has changed a lot, and it feels so good to be back!! :)

I'm not loosing at the moment because of my week last week but I can't say I didn't know that was going to happen. Hopefully by this time next week my body will love me again and it will start dropping the weight again. But either way, as I said previously, I'm living a healthy lifestyle and the weight will come off when it's ready!!!

I must say I am getting quite frustrated in the mornings when I try and find something to wear to work! I've given away probably 1/3 of my clothes already to my mum/friends/salvos and I think it's time to go through and chuck out more. I must remember to do my cm's because I swear I'm loosing cm's a lot faster than weight. I really want to go out and get some new clothes that fit me nicely but it's just not worth it :(

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Kristy- Hit the Op shops for yourself! They're great to see you through, xo Cate

Good morning everyone!

Cate, good idea. I went there a little while ago and picked up some good stuff. I'll go again this weekend for a browse and see what I can find... :)

I'm unhappy to admit I had a small deviation last night. I went over my cracker allowance by 2. I just had such a bad day yesterday as my wisdom teeth are coming through - the headache was unbearable! And for some reason I was just so hungry... I'm trying those new Premium Original crackers and gosh they are YUM! I couldn't resist :( I guess it could have been a lot worse.... My partner works out a lot but then he likes to eat quite a lot of crap too... mostly at night time...crackers & dips, icecream and biscuits. I've become quite good at just ignoring it..last night I really felt like icecream but I just asked him to eat it in another room haha!!

Tomorrow I have a baby shower and as always there will be lots of 'bad' food there. I'm going to have lunch right before so I'm not hungry at all and just keep right away from the food!

Overall I'm feeling quite good now I'm a week+ deviation free and my body is really starting to love me again. My yoghurt and fruit really filled me up this morning. Oh! I tried to Vaalia yoghurt for the first time this morning and I can't say i like it at all. I have been having the Brownes one since I started and I'm thinking I'll just stick to that.

Sorry my diary is pretty boring everyone :( I read everyone else's and they are so interesting compared to mine! But hmm I'm not very good with expressing my feelings/thoughts. Ah well, I know my head is in the right place and that's all that matters. Thanks for reading still though guys.

Kristy xo

I love Premium Crackers. I need to be careful not sound like I'm encouraging deviating - I'm not, but at least the crackers are Cohens. That was last night, and it's done and dusted hey?
Wisdom teeth pain is awful. Is it all of them coming through?
It's really tough when people eat stuff around you. I find it harder with DH than anyone else, mainly because at the back of my mind, I know men don't have to try as hard to maintain or lose, and basically its just not fair lol.
We don't get Browns yoghurt here, so I can't compare, but I love the creaminess of Vaalia. I can tolerate others if I have to. Is Browns creamy?
Your diary isn't boring, and even if it was, it's here to help you, and if it helps us too that's a bonus. As long as it's helping you.
I think keeping our minds on the straight and narrow can take up so much energy sometimes, there's nothing left to put in our diaries. I know I've felt like that before, but now, not so much - obviously.
All the best with the baby shower tomorrow. x

PS Miss Kris - I went back to a cracker I don't quite like as much eventually, as that was my problem earlier on as well.

Yeah, very true. I think I now have a strong hold on my mind about no deviating with non cohens food, but I must admit I do go over fruit or cracker allowance a little bit too often....and I have to remember that even though it cant be as bad as deviating with a non-cohens food, it's still a deviation and it will slow my weight loss down! Also something that has bothered me lately is the size of my apples? Everywhere I go, they seem to be HUGE! I go through and try and find the ones which will resemble a 'medium' fruit, but most of the time I find they're all too big.... Is this something I should be mindful of? and possibly only eat 3/4 of it as 1 fruit?

L-Jay I did not find the Vaalia creamy at all. I found it to be quite runny and one of the more tasteless natural yoghurts. I think the Brownes is a lot creamier - I think its lower calorie as well (not that this probably matters too much)... so I think I'll just stick to what I know!

Niyah - that may be a good option for me as well. But I do want to keep proving to myself that I can resist! It can only be good for me in the long run.

This is probably a silly question - but can someone please explain to me the abbreviations you all use? eg: DH, LP... some of them I understand, but some I'm still not getting haha. Sorry if that's really daft!!!!!

I will try and be most insightful and motivating in my diary! I do not want to just sound like I'm whinging all the time, haha. Actually, I'm going to try and post what I eat every da, as this will give me extra motivation to not go over my cracker/fruit allowance if I know I have to own up to it on here!! So here's yesterday's menu;

B - Yoghurt and 1/2 kiwi fruit allowance
MT - 1 cracker and 1/2 apple
L - Tuna & Salad + 2 crackers
AT - 1 apple + 2 crackers (this was where I went over)
D - Grilled chicken with cauiflower, mushrooms and zucchini + 2 crackers

I checked with my consultant about having half half of different fruits - eg: above I have had 1/2 kiwi and the other half fruit as an apple. Does anyone else do that? Sometimes I don't want to use my whole mango in one day so I'll just have half one day and half another day and then have 1/2 an apple to make up my allowance.

Hopefully if I'm doing anything wrong - you guys will pick up on it and let me know!!!

Kristy
