Kino's Journal!

I've heard from many many sources that keeping a journal of some sort really helps people lose weight. I suppose it gives you a fair idea of what your diet consists of and what I'm doing wrong.

I've decided to count calories and exercise in order to lose 46 lbs. That number is daunting but I can do this!

I think I've finally decided to lose this weight, not to please other people but for my own health and piece of mind. I have wonderful family and friends who love me, and an amazing boyfriend who thinks I'm perfect the way I am. So I need to do this for myself!

August 15th

Breakfast- 2 slices of white toast (110)
1 tsp of butter (70)

9:30am Snack- Breakfast bar (130)

11am Snack- Yogurt (50)

Lunch- Turkey Sandwich (110+25+50)

Midafternoon Snack- Apple (50)

Supper- Tuna Alfredo- (300)
A few spoonfulls of Goulash (300)

I also had some candy....It's my weakness. (100)

Gym

1/2 hour on the Cross Trainer - 300 cal
15 minutes weights- 50 cal

= 1295
- 350

= 945

I need to cut out eating candy..it's loaded with calories and will make me bloated and I need to try to cut down on white bread. Yesterday wasn't too bad but it could be better.

Pasta was made with whole Grain... Goulash may have been made with regular pasta.

Goal- Cut out Refined Carbs and Candy!! and drink 3 quarts of water daily

A very important realization!

I just realized something very important...

yesterday I didn't consume any diet pepsi or pop of any sort. I'm very proud of myself...I almost slipped last night but I decided to drink some low calorie juice instead.

I drank a fair bit of water yesterday but I've already drank twice that today and it's only 10:30am!!!

This feels great!!! :D

Kino - Great Start and congratulations for chosing to take control!

46 pounds may seem daunting at first (trust me, I certainly thought so when I started out needing to lose over 100!), but as the pounds come off, you will find that you CAN do this!!

You know what, i think i'm going to start counting my calories too, seems easy enough and it will keep me on track and organized.
Awesome job do your thing, I hope to lose 40-45 pounds by new years eek , WE CAN DO IT!

You're doing great! I think going for a small goal at a time is great...more of a boost when you reach each one:)

Welcome!
I've found that keeping a journal helps to keep me in the right frame of mind. My original weight loss goal was about 52lbs. I've only got 44 to go! Of course I'll create a new goal once I get there. My plan is to lose 2lbs a week, and reach my goal by new years! Everyone on this site is very encouraging!! 1lb at a time and we'll get there! Keep up the good work, and congrats on deciding to change!:)

Welcome! Keep up the journaling and you'll see over time what works and what doesn't. There are lots of people here who will help you when your down, and get excited with you as you make progress.
Good luck!

Thank you for all the encouraging words!! :D

It's really nice to be able to come here and get constant encouragement and inspiration :)

so last night I was very very tired. I was trying to stay focused on going to the gym. My boyfriend picked me up from work and we decided to go to my house to get supper before we went to seperate gyms (mines women's only). On the way to the gym, because I was so sleepy, I really thought about not going.
Sometimes I get into this mindset that if I just skip one gym session, or eat one bad thing that it's 'no big deal' but it is. I mean, it's not, in that I can just start again but when I do that I feel so disappointed and sometimes knowing how disappointed I'll feel isn't good enough for motivation.
So I decided to go, for maybe a half hour... but I would need to walk home as no one was home at my house and my boyfriend would be about an hour and a half. I decided to use the legnth of time my boyfriend would be as an excuse to be at the gym longer, because I didn't want to walk home in the dark, and neither did he.

So I ended up staying there for an hour and a half. And I felt great about it afterwards:) If only I could constantly remind myself of how wonderful I feel after working out when I'm not feeling so great.

And since I was still tired, I decided to do my 30 minutes on the cross trainer and then do shorter times on a few other machines!

I'm really glad I went and hopefully I'll have enough strength to go again tonight :)

Way to stick it out! I find that if I can get myself to just start, then I end up finishing, and I feel great:)

Great job! I know how sometimes you can just talk yourself right out of working out! Just keep convincing yourself to at least step through the gyms front door and once your in there....you can't stop!

Actually that happened again tonight. But I decided to go and push through.

It was so so so so difficult tonight. Sometimes I could be in the gym for 2 hours and it doesn't phase me but it took everything I had tonight to complete an hour, but I did it and now I can look forward to my weigh in tomorrow:)

yay!

I just looked at some of your food journal days and I must say, you are going awesome! Keep it up!

Yesterday was my treat day! I'm glad to say I didn't go overboard but I did eat more than normal and it feels a little weird. Luckily I haveno desire to continue over eating so I think it'll be ok trying to get back on track :)

I hope everyone had a good weekend! I'm anxious about tomorrow because it's my last week at my summer job. I'm the assistant planner for an AIDS Walk for Life here, and my supervisor has been on holiday's for 3 weeks so now she'll come back and make sure everything's done properly. So I hope I did ok. I can relax then for a few weeks before school starts again :)
