Verdict

:eek2: Thats a HUGE deficit!! Only coz of work, but that's great! And for once I managed to have good food eatin' too!!

That's a huge deficit and you mentioned its because of work. I hope you won't make a chocolate and a banana your normal lunch. Good job for a one time thing, especially if you were short of time to eat :)

Hi Kezzy. I wasn't a member when you were here and then left for the first time but welcome back =0)

The discussion you and wishes are having about genetics is very interesting. I am currently taking a class that genetics is a large part of. What it has taught me so far is that our DNA is very "dirty" and confusing. There are genetic links to overeating, addiction, metabolism, and many other things that go into weight gain and weight loss. The existence of the genes does not necessarily mean that one will be affected by them because they have to be turned on by biological and environmental factors. Basically its biological, environmental, complicated, and confusing for everyone. There seems to be no end all be all explanation to the whole situation.

Well just putting my two cents in. Good luck on your journey.

Don't worry!! I spent too much time on the morning swimming so I was going to be late for work, so I had to eat while I was walking to work!!

Hey all!

I haven't been on for a couple of days, but I've been doing OK! (OK not great :) )

On Monday, it was a close friends 21st birthday, so there was lots of eating and drinking going on! But there was also lots of dancing at some clubs, and I did go to the gym in the morning, so I must have burned it off!

Yesterday (which I can't really be bothered to write up in full) I ate 1853 calories, and burned about 2700 so thats a deficit of approx -847 which is OK :)

I am not working today, so I will burn less calories!! But I do intend to go swimming in a bit :) I'll attempt to keep calories to 1500. I do find it very difficult to keep my calories that low though!

Some photos

So, here are a few photos, comparing me today, with me 6 and a half weeks ago. In this time I have only lost 7lbs, not a vast amount I know, but I am pretty sure I can see a significant difference in some of these photos anyway, especially the front one!

I am wearing the exact same clothes, but bear in mind it is not an EXACT comparison, as I am standing in a slightly different position in some of them, and in some of those I took today I am standing a bit closer to the camera.

And just so you can see what I look like with clothes on ;) here is me on Monday, before going out to my friends 21st party.

Thanks guys!! Kim I'm 5'5.

Looking at the pics again I can see some differences I didn't notice straight away first time. Like the little rolls above my sports top have shrunk a lot hee hee!

The pics are GREAT! Such a change!!! :D
We're exactly the same height and the same weight, so I'm really hoping to have changed the same way as you... I don't have any photos to compare with, so yours really encouraged me. Thanks for sharing them with us! :)

Oh Kez I'm so proud of you! And you're SOOOOOOO cute! Love the pics, you look great and yes, the hard work is paying off, stick with it, Girl!

Kez those photos are fantastic! The difference is very noticeable - very nice!! Congratulations!! You do look even more lovely! :)

Aw thanks for all the lovely and encouraging comments guys!!

Yesterday I burned about 3100 cals (gym plus work plus walk) and ate about 2000, so had approx deficit of 1100. Not bad, though as usual what I chose to eat wasn't great!

I find it hard to focus on exercise AND food at the same time lol - but it sounds like you're still doing a great job!! You're definitely an influence on me - with all of your hard work!

~nic~

I love those deficits! I don't know about the "as usual" - I have seen lots of great meals on your diary. :)

Hey all!

I have been home for a couple of days, as my little sister is graduating from college (foundation art, she's off to Nottingham uni in Sept) and she wanted me home to go to her exhibition! It was an expensive, stressful trek across the country, to be honest, BUT it was worth it, the exhibition was good, and it meant a lot to her that I was there.

When my sister-in-law saw me she gasped and said I'd got skinny!

And yesterday, I ran for 20 minutes on the treadmill without stopping! (That was approx 2.8km, or 1.7 miles.) The longest I've ever run before (or since my childhood at least) is about 8 minutes at a time. Usually I try to run at 10kph, on a 1.5% incline. But for my 20 min stint I started out at 9.5kph and 1% incline, and by the time I'd finished I'd taken it down to 9kph and 0%, it was tough!! I feel so proud that I did it though, it's a bit achievement for me!

The next stages of the c25k plan break it down again, with walking gaps in the middle, then build it up to a 25 min run without stopping, in 3 sessions time. Watch this space!

Today I am going swimming with my swimming teacher housemate who first motivated me to get over my fear of the pool. I'm going to show off what I can do! She's an amazing swimmer, but is really the only one who fully understands the significance of some of the things I feel able to do now, when just a few weeks ago I was so nervous of the water, I wouldn't put my face in!

This evening we are going out for an epic pub crawl. There are 8 pubs on the list! And We're going to a curry house for dinner at some point along this crawl too  This is the last day I'll get to spend with her, and some of my other friends, before they all leave uni for good  it is going to be VERY sad!!!

I actually might not make it on here for a few days actually, coz tomorrow Dave and I are heading all the way up to Newcastle to visit his brother for a couple of days. Ie from Tuesday to Thursday. Then, on Friday, I get my exam results!! Then I'm working on Saturday and Sunday, and next week have to pack and clean my house, ready to move out and go 'home' for the summer.

It's so sad, I don't want uni to be over!!!!!!

Lots v forum love, I'll try to remember to (after tonight ;) ) enjoy myself in moderation over the next few days!
