Kez tries again!!!

When I weighed this morning I have lost a pound since Saturday! Not counting it til Monday, my official weigh day though. Hope I'll be down at least another pound by then too.

So, just got back from the gym, 520 cals burned :)
 
I hope so!!

My biggest short term goal right now is to get back to the lowest weight I reached in December, before I started letting my healthy habits slip, and then completely gave up before Christmas!! That lowest weight was 147lbs, and I'm hoping it'll only take 2-3 weeks to get there. 2-3 weeks to undo the damage of about 6 weeks of bad habits isn't too bad really. I am just so glad, like M2M said, that I managed to regain control of myself and get back into my healthy lifestyle, now rather than giving up and undoing all the hard work of the last 4 months!!

So between now (153lbs) and then (147lbs) I will also pass the 'lost 10% of my body weight' mark and the 'back into healthy BMI' mark, both of which I obviously passed last time, but then went back up over. So then next 6 pounds are important ones for me!!!

Thanks everyone for all your support, I'm trying to pay it forward too!!

It is really important that you were able to stop your drift from staying healthy and get back on track. It's a vital skill in this process. :)

Verdict
So. My calories were 300 higher than I said yesterday I was aiming for *gasp!* I think it happened coz I didn't eat at normal times, so by evening I was really hungry and sneaked extra bits into my dinner which I wouldn't have otherwise! But I did LOTS of exercise and still have a very good calorie deficit, which is what matters at the end of the week!! And I met all the other goals I said I had for today.

Goals for tomorrow
Walk 1 hour
Exercise dvd
Keep to 1300 cals
5 portions fruit and veg
2 bowls bran.
Eat at regular and normal times!!

Hey, I drifted as well, which I'm sure you know from popping by my diary. Still, I'm back. i think getting control again is the most important thing.

So true!! In fact, I've never managed it before. If I slide I think "blown it again" and just give up, and invariably end up fatter than before!!

So, it's 12.45 here now and I can already see I'm gonna have to modify the goals I set for myself yesterday. Partly coz my brother is coming over again. He says he is having a sad day so wants to come over to chat and go for a walk. I am so glad he can turn to me when he needs to :eek:

But, I'm gonna count that as extra exercise today (I've already walked for over an hour) rather than a fitness dvd.

Also, I am really hungry today (perhaps all the exercise) so am gonna struggle to keep to my 1300 limit!!

So new goals for today
1) Eat 1 bowl of bran
2) Eat 5 portions fruit and veg
3) Keep to 1400 cals
4) walk for at least 2 hours in total
5) Eat at normal times
 
So, how did I do with those goals today?

1) Yes I ate 1 bowl of bran
2) I ate 6 portions fruit and veg!!!
3) Hmmm see below
4) I walked for 2 hours and 20 minutes which burned approx 643 cals
5) I ate at normal times

So passed all goals with flying colours except the calorie one. I was up between 1800 and 2000 cals. I still have a calorie deficit of around 700 though which is pretty good. V tired so no more detail tonight, but I will do better tomorrow!

I have always done this also. Until now. This is the time for us both to pin down that secret to success!! :)
 
Hey Kez! Thanks so much for your wonderful comments on my diary. It really seems as though we have a lot on common. Anyway, you're so encouraging and I wanted to return the favor. You're doing great and you'll be one gorgeous lady in that dress come graduation time! Your diet looks good. I read some people's diets and I'm thinking "Ugh... I can't imagine going through a day eating that crap." But yours makes me feel full. Haha I should be posting my foods too.

So, as you can see I haven't stuck to my calories for the past two days. Although I haven't gone drastically over, and its always been on healthy food. Like yesterday, I couldn't be bothered to post everything I ate, but although some of it was slightly high cal, and my total was high, it was ALL healthy!! Like, half an avocado, eggs, soup, LOTS of fruit, and an extra bowl of cereal!

But even so I know I'll regret not having more willpower on Monday (weigh day) coz calories are calories at the end of the day!! So today I'm gonna try even harder. I'm also gonna up my calorie limit slightly coz I'm planning to do lots of exercise!! (I think this might be my problem. I get hungry after burning lots of calories, then end up eating too much!!!)

Goals for today

1) Gym 1 hour
2) Walk 1 hour
3) Calorie limit 1500 STICK TO THIS!!!!!!!!!!
4) 5 portions fruit and veg

Well I think you'll agree I stuck to all my goals and smashed some of them-a perfect awesome day!!!

2) Walk 30 mins
3) 1500 cals
4) It's Sunday tomorrow which is my danger day coz I'm at work, so goal 4 is to buy food before my shift, while I am not hungry or stressed, which will hopefully mean I can resist the temptation to binge on my break.
5) Drink lots of water, at least 0.5L every 3 hours at work
 
Spot on. An awesome day. The food sounds terrific, the exercise is great...You are doing really well!! :D

Hey all!

Well, today was difficult for me, I was very tired, hungry and sorely tempted by naughty foods over and over again, but I did id, I resisted and stuck to all my goals!! (except I don't think I drunk as much water as I should have).

Breakfast

Verdict
Very good, though it was hard!!! And I could have eaten more fruit and veg, and drunk more water. But really, for me on a Sunday, thats a really good day!

4) Drink lots of water!!


So, I've had lots of time to come on here since I returned, but tommorow my final year research project begins-so time will be precious!! I will still post in my diary every day if at all possible, and will try to keep up with others, but if I suddenly become quieter you know why!!

Tomorrow is also my weigh day. I don't know what to hope for really. I weighed inthe week and appeared to have lost a pound, but since then the scales say I have put it back on, despite being good, well, you know how good I've been, I tell you every day!! I am hoping it was just fluid, and that in the morning I can report at least a piound, hopefully two, down this week. :)
 
Well done on making it through your hard Sunday. Keeping going, through those sort of days, and the ones that follow them, is critical. :)
