Thanks guys! I woke up this morning, (Bout an hour ago!) and while I was still in bed started running over stuff I was studying yesterday in my head, and I was amazed at how much I have remembered and stored in my brain! I'm starting to feel good and confident about these exams :)

On another note, yesterday I was getting pains in my left shin, and started worrying it was coz I'd been going running in crappy shoes. I don't know if that actually IS the reason or not, but just in case I am not going to go running again til I can get some proper running shoes (a week today) which means the couch to 5k plan will be a week delayed, but I will do other exercise in the meantime, and I figure it's worth waiting.

Morning Kez,

Thanks for the post in my journal, and yayay you sound so much more positive, and it really sounds like the revision is coming together, as well as you having the healthy snacking little and often thing sorted :D

If I dont catch up with you before, masses of good luck for your exams, by the sounds of it you will do brilliantly :)

Hey Kez! MORNING! Here is a little info I got for you off the web, I hope it helps understand it a little better: What Causes Shin Splints?
While there are many causes of shin splints, they can all be categorized into two main groups. Overload (or training errors), and Biomechanical
Inefficiencies When I was doing group power the other night, I got an awful pain in my calf, and I thought, UH OH, I've been lacking in Potassium and sure enough that was it. Our bodies are strange, but they sure let us know when we are not doing something right don't they. It is hard when you can't afford stuff right now, I feel the same way, having two boys with graduation and all that other stuff this month, I can barely afford to pay attention, so don't worry I'm right there with you! I think your exams are going to go great! so don't sweat it! You have a wonderful day today, and don't sweat the small stuff! :rotflmao:
Kim

Hey! That's great that you're feeling confident about your exams, it sounds like you're hard work is paying off. I don't know ANYTHING about shin pain, but it COULD be from your shoes? I don't know, I hope you find out though ;) You're doing an awsome job! :jump:

Hey WLF!

Well, today has been another hard day of revision for me! I mean, yesterday I was working from 7am to midnight! Not without breaks, but even so!

Today has not been quite as heavy, I am having trouble sleeping (stress) which meant I couldn’t concentrate so I went back to bed for an hour this morning and had a nap, it proved to be a good decision as I was much more productive afterwards!

Unfortunately I have had no time for any kinda exercise today (except a walk to the shops which doesn’t count). Thought his has been the first time in nearly 2 weeks I haven't done any exercise! So maybe my body will appreciate the rest anyway.

I have done the same thing today with eating little and often to keep my energy levels up, and stop me from thinking about food! It has worked, but I ate a bit too much and have ended up around maintenance today, esp with no exercise. Not that I’m particularly bothered, in the great scheme of things lol! And again, maybe it will be good for me, to have 1 day every 2 weeks at maintenance!

Don't worry, I will make sure I have a good deficit tomorrow. I'll go for a deficit of 500, by burning off 250, and eating 1750. Not going to go lower than that coz my brain need fuel!

So anyhoo…

Hi!

Not a great revision day, I’ve spend too much time napping and procrastinating  !

I’ve managed a bit of exercise though, a workout dvd (only 20 mins, I was interrupted by the builder come to scrape damp patches off the wall-yuk!) and a walk (even though its raining-LOTS!)

Walk 30 mins -133

Total cals burned 2243

Calorie deficit = 1892-2243 = -351

Verdict

Not great. Again. I have been eating too much!

I think it sounds like a good day overall. :) It's hard to manage much of a calorie deficit during exam time. But that's alright - right now your work really is the most important thing. But there's nothing wrong with a deficit of 351. That's 351 cals you won't have to burn tomorrow. :) Take it easy! Best of luck with studying.

Kezzy you are doing really really well all things considered, I have had a terrible day today because i got into the library stupidly early after pretty much no sleep, took no snacks or lunch with me so it all went wrong, your day is great in comparison!

Masses of good luck for monday, not sure i'll find my way onto here much between now and wednesday, but then i'll be two exams down and only two to go, yay!!

Keep up the fab work,

Kato x

Thank you sunny and Kate! I'm off to go try get some sleep now, and make tomorrow a better day than today! Well its gotta be really, I only have 2 days left now aargh!

I'm thinking getting to sleep might be hard, as Dave has not come over (usually he does every night) coz we are both revising hard. And, call me sad, but I REALLY find it hard to get to sleep without him! But off I go to try anyway :)

Days til exams: 3/6/11

You're doing great Kezzy. Studying time is the worst for eating. You're mind has to be focused, but your body is bored. Its so tempting to munch, but you're doing great.

Awww... sorry you're sleeping by yourself tonight. If it's any consolation, I'm away from my boyfriend for 4 months! :( Well, not exactly because he's coming to visit me here at my sister's for a weekend in June. But I know how lonely it feels when you just really want him to be there. Have a good sleep anyway, hun.

Sounds like it was a good day to me.
Exams are getting close! I hope you're feeling confident and prepared. Good luck! Keep up your hard work.

Cannon is so right about it being hard to get the food right close to exams. You are just doing so well managing to balance everything and making great food choices as well as keeping up the exercise.

Good luck with those exams. You should at least believe that you have made the efforts required (efforts = plural of effort/repeated effort :)). Congratulations on that.

I think it's awsome that you still manage to fit in your exercise (1 hour walk) while studying for exams!! Keep it up!! Your food sounds fine to me!
