Evening

This does seem to be the way to go - making a diary on here to get a bit of feedback & support from others - and also to join a forum where you can provide support to others.

Im 41 - currently 262 lbs (nearly 19 stone......). Im married with 2 boys (13 & 10) and have had weight issues all my life. Ive been slim & fat & in between, but never that happy with myself. Ive tried all sorts of ways of losing weight - from starving to small meals to binge>puking to major exercise. The last time I felt better about myself was 5 years back when I managed to get down to 15.5 stone. I looke pretty good but still managed to break a chair at a party.....(Ive done 3 of those in my life. Well good for raising a laugh :angelsad2: ).

So here I am - tomorrow is d day. I am setting myself goals of a stone(14 lbs) at a time. More SMART I feel. Id like to lose this every 6 weeks....

Id ike to welcome you to my diary - I will do a proper profile etc but thought it more important to get started on my goals.

See ya

Kevin

BTW - I have the worst typing of anyone, so forgive the typos...!!!!!

First Day

First proper day was Monday (yesterday).

I was due to go to boxercise with my 13 year old in the evening (we do it every Monday and its dammed hard work!!!) but he lost his Nintendo DS lite. Spent hours looking for it – I even went through the rubbish which was hideous. I have no idea where it is but we’ve not found it yet…….that made me happy…!!!! My youngest then became well grumpy with me as he is learning the guitar and wanted me to sing “there were 10 in the bed…”. He wanted it singing at his guitar playing pace. I was sorting washing & drying at the time so wasn’t very cooperative, which caused a major 10 year old grump in my direction…..still he spoke to me an hour later!!!

Foodwise – I didn’t do too bad. I didn’t get breakfast (my fault I was getting boys ready for school) but had 2 small cheese rolls (not too much cheese) for lunch.
Dinner – I was in a rush & wasn’t sure what to cook so I chopped some leeks, carrots & onions & fried them up (not too much oil) in went some mince & peas. Served with carrots & brussel sprouts & mashed potato. Too much potato – I did one and a half each will do one each next time.
1 raspberry yogurt for dessert.
2-3 cups of tea & not enough water.

Whilst I know this isn’t ideal – before I was having 2 lattes a day and possibly a chocolate muffin /sweets & a load of extra whilst cooking & finishing the childrens dinners as well as my food. Plus at least half a bottle of wine. I really think today was a pretty good day!!!!

Heres to tomorrow!!!!!

Day 2....

Tuesday – day 2……

Statred swimmingly with getting my 2 boys (13 & 10) off to school etc – no rows or anything. I even had tme for a cup of tea. That’s does not often happen!!

Its freezing in the UK at the moment so I think the shivering can only be losing me pounds. I still feel good about this latest “healthier eating” lifestyle. I am however constantly thinking of pizza & therefore seem to be hungry all the time. I was hungry when I got home so had a piece of ham & slice of cheese (not big though don’t feel too bad). Mental note to myself – drink more water & buy some fruit to nosh on between meals.

So todays food tally:

Lunch – 2 small cheese rolls (again!!)
Evening dinner – made some pasta & home made sauce (chicken, garlic, tinned toms, tom puree & pesto. Very little oil used) No cheese topping

Extras – bit of ham & cheese & handful of “jordans crunch” breakfast cereal.

Couple of cups of tea & not enough water.

Im so hungry!!!!

Day 3 –

Today was trying. Found out that one of my offspring had pulled the wool over my eyes big time & told a fair few porkie pies so I was not happy. I did my best to contain my anger but am having to sort out some sort of punishment. Who’d be a parent eh?
At work – I work for HSBC bank & have been here for 8 months now. Have struggled a bit but – today, I went to a meeting and not only participated but seemed to know what I was talking about. Blimey there is a God after all. What made it better was that my boss was also in the meeting so she witnessed it. Woo hoo!!

Foodwise – shreddies for breakfast. 3 teas at work & a fair amount of water. Still not brought any fruit to work……Lunch 2 small cheese & ham rolls. Dinner – baked beans (half tim) scrambled eggs (only small amount milk & butter) & 2 slices of toast. 1 horrid Somerfield yogurt for pudding. Plus the obligatory bit of cheese (small bit).

I am reading a book by TV hypnotist Paul Mackenna “I Can Make You Slim”. Whilst I don’t like the title (we make ourselves slim, noone else), the book talks a lot of common sense. I’ll post on another forum about this – it does work & involves absolutely no tricks or fads.

Feeling quite proud!!!!!

Busy busy busy

Blimey life takes over doesn't it..... Ive not done an update for a while. A bit nervous over the next few days as Im off to Budapest and will be drinking beer.!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive been doing well - a total loss of 10lbs (if you put 11 tins of Heniz tomato soup in a bag thats 11lbs!!!!). Im a bit less hungry too - I feel fuller quicker. :)

Kevin
