kelly's diary

Kelly, I am SO impressed -- jogging for an hour. Wow! I bet 3 months ago you thought that never would have been possible.

I just had the best run ever. Strapped the girls in good and tight and started right away up a hill and continued. Ran my first mile non-stop. Finished it for you guys. Walked long enough to change my cd and ran another mile. Huh, that felt pretty good, so I went some more. 1 hr 15 minutes and a solid 60 minute jog. Reading about the marathon man helped.

Never discount the possibility of a quick turnaround when things are looking dim.

I'm starting to feel gooooooooood.

Gonna roast some vegetables tonight, parsnips, sweet potato, asparagus, broccoli, brussel sprouts, everything, in a little olive oil.

Thank you everybody for stopping in. You helped make my day. Love you.

WOW, just WOW!! You are doing great!!! Keep up the great work.. isn't being active so much fun?!

When you said you had "started running", I didn't think you would mean "for miles"!! Wow!

It is a great spirit lifter. Always.

Those veges sound sooo wonderful too!

Have a lovely day.

Kelly, you're doing amazing. You have really done this thing in such a philosophical way and taken so much inspiration from so many places. It really feels like you're changing more than your fitness level (I think a lot of us are). I think sometimes when you change your body, your body changes you.

Congradulations!!

That's excellent! You must feel great about yourself! Running is so fun--I'm glad you decided to go for so long. Have a great Easter!:)

It's Easter morning and once again I am beating my mind with a shoe. Gotta get up and get the day started. Getting hit with worry when I wake up. Mainly money.

That run wore me down last night but I'm glad I did it.

Oh dear - not with a shoe - a slipper would be much safer.

I hope you wake tomorrow looking forward to the buzz you will get from your exercise that day, and the satisfaction you are already feeling about all the many great things you have already been doing. :)

I'm in the Spring Challenge as a Fresh Air Fox and tomorrow is weigh in day. But I have put my scale away and don't want to get weighed, after all, its only been a week, and I would rather just concentrate on the efforts I'm putting in to eat at 20% deficit and exercise. I would like to weigh in in a month or maybe even May 6, the end day of the challenge. Should I ask Mal if I can do this?

I have added flax seed oil, a fat that helps burn fat, to my diet and hope to see results from it.

Hey happy, it's surprising that I've never commented in your diary. I was just dropping in to wish you a happy Easter

your dedication is so impressive!

i wonder if the flax seed will help out... if it does, please keep us updated! i wouldn't mind trying it out! if it's healthy and helps, i see no harm in it! :)

Hi Kelly; I've used another source, hemp hearts (shelled hemp seeds) for years. All that stuff is so good. You are becoming so healthy. Happy, Easter!!

Survived Easter dinner without going over board. Am telling myself I'll splurge for my birthday.

Planned ahead of time what I would eat at my sister's, and stayed on target for calories for a deficit of over 500 calories today. My family was supportive of my efforts.

Turning 43 on Thursday. Have been invited out to dinner by an old friend who's birthday is two days later.

Hemp hearts are so yummy. I hope to get some some day.

I ransacked my trunk, closet and drawers today and threw out tons of clothes. I just know I'll be too small next winter for the big old sweaters I'm sick of anyway. Threw out like ten pairs of pants, piles of tops, old summer moomoos I never wear, etc. I am poor but even I can get a couple new things at Value Village (thrift store). I am happy wearing newer smaller clothes. Fourteen pounds has made a big difference.

Next weigh in for me is going to be on May 1. One month.

Happy Birthday for thursday Kelly, I hope you and your friend have a great time. I wanted to stop by and say hello, I havent been online too much so im doing a bunch of catch up. Have a great week
Michelle :)

Hi Kelly!! Thanks for stopping by my post today. I'm so pleased to have read your diary. I to am a mom of boys, actually two (twin 17 yr olds) I was married to their dad for about 12 years. I started real young I'm only 38 as of Feb. I had it really hard girl, I to started from scratch with not a penny in my pocket and two suitcases of clothes, most the boys of course, and 3 years later, I bought my first home and car. So, I know of just about all you speak of. My best friend suffers from Bipolar, and I just think she is the most awesome lady in the world. She has good days and bad, but I wouldn't trade her for anyone else out there. Oh did I say I'm now happily remarried, it will be 3 years in August. I never thought I would ever do it again. But I'm so happy, I'm truly blessed. Your not alone and I'm so happy to know your on this website. I just stumbled across it myself last week. I'm going to take in what you said about the percentage and see if that will work too. I think my main problem was bread and pasta. It seems since I haven't had either I've been losing the weight. Well, your doing fantastic, and I saw your before and after pictures and you are so pretty!! Your face even after 10 lbs has slimed down so much, it's amazing. You keep it up and keep me posted on your progress, I'll be stopping by your post regularly, so you take care and good luck!!!
