kelly's diary

Good cardio session today, alternated between 3.3 and 5.5 mph, a minute or two at a time for 30 minutes.

I'm doing really well with my mood this January and its because I'm going to the gym and I have the support of a trainer. Having a day off between workouts is working well for me. Also, he has given me a website which I am finding helpful.

I am also enjoying busy days but not too busy. I see my sons on the weekend (they are older now) for a bit and truthfully, I"m glad to get back to my own routine on Monday mornings.

Love this line by my trainer, "Why would you do that?" (or "eat that").

I feel secure in my program and I'm looking forward to noticing results.

Tomorrow I am going to stay overnight at my friend's house in the next town who is terminally ill. I am taking some of my own food so that I can fill up on what's healthy and hopefully avoid the ton of chocolate that they keep in the house. I will have to use my line, "Why would I eat that???" I hope to watch the inauguration.

Hey there Kelly, WOW alot going on in here lol!! Congrats on getting to the gym,I was so freaked about going for years then I finally went for the first time last year and LOVED it then 2 months later I was pregg lol anyway great way to lose weight and get in shape also congrats on your own personal trainer!!!

I am sure you will definatley get results you want,If I remeber I was 175 ish when I started the gym and made it to 154 B4 I got pregg lol!!
ALSO I totally understand about being and feeling impatient about the SLOW weightloss, when I was 255 I was so used to losing 4-5 lbs a week the first few weeks then 2-3 thererafter well I started in this JAN1 and I have lost 7lbs not bad but blah I just want it gone already lol!
STAY STRONG you can do it once you get your mind set and it sounds like you are ready!!

Well Roy, my new best friend (trainer) really helped me fine tune my diet when he saw I hadn't lost anything in two weeks, he picked up on something andthat is, as a vegetarian mostly, my diet is way high in carbohydrates. I always figured with lentils, chick peas and tofu that i was getting good protein. Well I have been educated and while its too bad I'm only making use of this knowledge now, at least I'm FINALLY counting carbs and protein grams. This reminds me of Cym who used to be on here with all her daily diet data. This is an improvement and I'm sure I will see results now that I'm not eating huge amounts of carbs, like beans for supper and whatever else that just gets converted to fat during the night. What a ripoff that is. i learned that carbs get used first for fuel and if they're not used, look out.

Check this out: a cup of chick peas 14.5 g protein 45 g carbs
bowl lentil soup 10.4 g protein 26.5 g carbs

4 oz salmon 26.6 g protein 0 carbs
1 cup chicken 36.5 g protein 0 carbs

So it sucks to be vegetarian.

I have bought a case of chicken breasts and a big can of whey powder.
Keeping a written food journal noting times and what I eat, calories, protein and carbs. I should watch fibre too but I'm just doing what my diet guru tells me.

Roy said to write down what I eat this week and he will look it over in a week's time. Can you believe the amount of help I am getting now. The fact that he's looking for change every two weeks is great. It means I don't have to wait for a month or a year from now. Just work for two weeks and measure. That's what I call progressive.

As you all know I have stalled out but I'm sure I'm on the right path now.

I was so glad to see some people stopped by my diary this week. I will go visit now. Love Kelly:seeya:

hey Kelly, i always read but rarely post.Im glad to see he is helping you out and having you be so positive you go girl, however ive seen you in person and you look great to me:):hug2:

Meat Substitutes:
Worthington foods and Loma Linda Foods make some nice protein alternatives to just beans and other legumes. If you're not allergic to wheat, consider gluten-based products; as I understand it, there is a lot of protein in that sort of thing.

I'm glad to see huge red letters of glee :D

I do buy gluten when I go to Fairway Market. I'm okay with meat as long as its tasty. Better than fish.

I'm down another pound today. Whoopee.:hurray:

So it sucks to be vegetarian.

Awwww shucks I've been eating vegetarian lately more often than not, and I lost SIX POUNDS in 3 weeks! But I've been dieting. However, I'm VERY glad to hear you're getting more educated and inspired!

chicken and broccoli chicken and broccoli chicken and broccoli (and other dark veggies too) and oatmeal. 2000 cals, 150-175 g protein 150 g carbs

Doing great. But I'm a little tired. I'm so glad to have rest days in between gym days. I really do try my hardest in the gym. Tomorrow is cardio. On my last cardio day I ran the fastest I have tried so far on the treadmill which was 6 mph. That got me panting. When I do it I tell myself, "I'm burning fat I'm burning fat.....go your hardest!"

Did my body fat percentage yesterday - ugh. Got a long way to go, let me tell ya. But I'm stickin' to it and going to bed early tonight.
