kelly's diary

Today I stepped in to my "skinny" size 16 jeans and they zipped up no problem. Awesome. Bought them several months ago but couldn't wear them. Now they're my best jeans!

What a great feeling. Relish that feeling as much as you can. One time I was at work in the bathroom and was so happy to get into a smaller size, a co-worker walked in and caught me checking out my own butt in the mirror! Okay, maybe don't relish the feeling THAT much. tee hee

wtg on the jeans!!! what a great feeling that must be :) Are they those skinny jeans? or skinny (goal jeans) ? Either way woohoo!! If they are goal , better start lining up another pair of skinny jeans to squeeze into soon :)

Have a great Sunday Kelly :D

It took me a while to get to your diary but I'm glad I have. I see that you have made some truly wonderful progress. :)

Way to go on the jeans!!

Yes, I'll have to go shopping at Value Village and pick up my next pair of jeans to fit into. Its so nice to have something new to wear and to know you look better wearing them.

Last night we had a vegetarian dinner with friends. I made chapatis (roti) and dal out of black eyed peas and spicy tomato sauce. Holly made a stuffed peppers recipe with black beans and cheese. She deep fried them but I enjoyed one anyway. It was delicious, rich. I was over calories for the day by a few hundred but its okay. Also had three oz of fine red wine. It tasted strong as I have not had any alcohol since New Year. As I was doing dishes I had to remind myself not to nibble.

I'm glad I don't eat out much. Who can resist all that delicious food? Its easier to lose when you stick close to home.

After last nights splurge on a deep fried stuffed pepper I'm glad to be back on track today, sitting at a 600 calorie deficit for the day.

Am thinking of putting the scale away. Feel the need to freshen my program.

Yay Happy on the new jeans!! Congrats on not eating out much
I did twice this week geesh I go so long without then bam 2 days worth1!
Your doing great keep up the hard work,Tammy

Hi Kelly. A single cheat day can be a good thing, as long as you hop right back in the saddle, which you've done. Have a great week!

Good For You!!

Kelly- even though I'm having a bad day, doesn't mean I'm the kind of person who can't be happy when their friends are doing well.....Congrats on the jeans!! That is a better feeling than any number on the scale, IMHO!! WOO-HOO!!:D

Yeah, so I'm not afraid of my food, I know what I'm doing. But still its so much head work. I mean its easy in a way, just stay within your calories. Its more a waiting game. The road to success is paved with practice. Oh, if I could only know all along that I'm losing. Doubt is creeping in. Oh, the mind.

I AM on the road to success.

I put my scale away this morning as I didn't like what it said the last two days.
I wish I had the discipline to wait until May 1 to weigh and change ticker.
I could visualize instead on my fridge chart's daily deficits, knowing that each day has been very good.

I just want to maximize the feelings of success and obliterate traces of failure.
I just want to control my mind. Beat it with a shoe. Any other tips?

I can relate with putting the scale away. I felt like my success was revolving around what it told me and success can be measured in many different ways. I have gotten this feeling over the last week or so that the weight isn't coming off fast enough---I am trying to give my mind a break and focus on eating healthy and until I'm satisfied (not full) and exercising a lot. Good luck to you!

Don't worry

Don't stress, the scale will go up and down! Just stay focused and keep making healthy choices 90% of the time. The weight will drop off eventually! Make sure you are getting enough fruits and veggies and lean protein! Hang in there and don't get too discouraged! :)

sounds like you have a great mindset about food! i am slowly but surely working though all of my food/scale issues.

congrats on the jeans!

:)

Here it is. I am eating, I am living, I am working, I am outside. I am successfully managing my weight, I am eating a reduced diet.

Forget the scale.

Gardened today for five hours.
Huge deficit.
