keepitoff83's diary!

So I weighed in at 121.9lbs today.....at least we're moving DOWN. My weigh in SHOULD be good this week as I am working all nights and since I'll be weighing in after one of my shifts where I likely wont be eating......it should be down. Although knowing me I'll manage to squeeze in food as I get bad headaches if I don't eat for a few hours!

Off to work in a few hours.....planning some exercise while there.....hopefully we don't get slammed with traumas! Also bringing my gym bag with me and crossing my fingers hoping I'll go to the gym at 6am when the shift is over.....I'm sure that'll depend on how much sleep I get as I woke up around 10am today and if I don't sleep at all, I'll be a walking zombie! Oh well!

Congrats on 121.9!! You're getting there! :hurray:

Easter is a Christian holiday, so Protestants celebrate it, too--not just Catholics. ;) But like Margaret said, any holiday that gives us an excuse to eat chocolate is a holiday worth celebrating... :D Sooo, I'm guessing your Hindu, and I'm wondering if there are any Hindu holidays that encourage chocolate consumption, because if there are, I'd like to start "celebrating" them. :D Hmm...I think I may have just found a way to blame my weight on religion....

I hope you have an easy shift tonight and aren't too tired to work out in the morning.

Nah, a medical career is not in the cards for me..lol. I'd rather be married to a doctor. :D He can work the long hours and rake in the big bucks so I can spend it..hahaha. :reddevil:

GREAT JOB LOSING THE POUNDAGE!!!!!

Your doing great! Although, it must be really hard losing anything as getting a good night sleep is paramount to losing weight. You are truly an inspiration. I think with your work schedule it's great that you find time at all to exercise. So when ever I feel like , I just don't have time or feel like it , I will think of you Priti. I am a stay at home mom and believe me I am constantly trying to talk myself out of exercise (Lazy eh?) Really good job! Go Blue!!!!

COngrats on the loss!!!!!

your doing a great job keep it up, your reach your goals soon:)
Hope you have a good day at work!

I agree with Eldaweesda - it seems amazing to me that you are combining such a great weight loss focus with your intense job and its long hours - and it does make me aware of how much better I could be doing.

Congratulations on that continuing loss!! Go Blue!!

Haha thanks for visiting Kimberly. Yes, I'm hindu :). Unfortunately, we don't really have any holidays where you eat chocolate unfortunately, so I steal all the American holidays. But we do get presents so you should still start celebrating :). I did have some Chocolate actually on Easter after Margaret made that comment. I'm so weak!

I managed to work out a decent amount while at work. I was always wide awake and so instead of sleeping I would go up flights of stairs in the hospital and round the floors. Maybe not the most intense exercise, but I'm definitely a lot less winded with stairs now :). I think some of the nurses thouhght I was weird but oh well!!!!!!! Good idea about marrying the doc....it's a shame you're already taken :). My future hubby is a doc in training for radiology, which is one of hte highest paying fields so I'm excited to use all of his money for my shopping needs!

Good luck on weigh in today!!!!!!!!!

That is so so sweet of you. I really appreciate you saying all that b/c it makes me realize I shouldn't be so hard on myself when I'm not able to fit things in. I've always had a struggle with consistency with working out so I think this time I'm just determined not to fall off the path, no matter what it takes. I hope you had a good weigh in. GO BLUE!!!!!!!! I'll be over at that thread shortly :)

Thankssss so much!!!! It makes me feel better when I get such great support from all of you here! That's the thing I love about this forum.....you can always look at someone else who is doing a bit more and it's so motivating, I love it!

Alrighty, so had a busy week. Gotta work two more nights and unfortunately they are prob going to be the busier nights as ppl get drunk Thurs-Sat. Oh well! I already had my kiwi for the challenge today....forgot how good those things were!!!!! I was down about a pound in my weigh in so I'm happy that I'm going down and not up! Thanks everyone for visiting!

Good for you for being engaged to a future high-earning doctor..lol. I should've gone to med school if only long enough to get engaged to a future doctor...lmao!! I sound terrible, but really, it's as easy to fall in love with a rich man as a poor man--am I right ladies? :biggrinjester:

Nice job on the weight loss this week--and have fun with the drunks tonight! :biggrinjester:

So when are these gift receiving holidays you mentioned?? Can I give myself the gift of chocolate?? :biggrinjester:

Hi Priti,

Excellent job again! One pound for you is like 5lb for me and I am very excited that you have found motivation to keep going and getting exercise even though you probably would rather get sleep. You truly are amazing. Keep it up and you will carry the Blue team to victory! No pressure, really! ha ha Have a great weekend and make sure you have a mask on while dealing with the drunks! (that way you don't have to smell their bad breath!) Go Blue!!!!

Blah... so sad a guy died this morning in a head on collision with another driver. Both guys from both cars were in the hospital and the guy who lived was really shooken up. I was heading out to come home when I saw the guy's family all crying and walking towards his room.....he was only 49....so sad! His wife could barely move she was so shooken up. It's just so sad how one minute he was ok and boom....his life was taken away out of nowhere. Both drivers were drunk too, which makes me hate when ppl drink and drive even more. I guess nights like this make me realize that you can't take anything for granted!

Anyway, thanks everyone for visiting....just had to get that off my chest! I'll be back later after my long nap.

That was sad about the drunk drivers. You would've been proud of me last night, as H had too many beers to drive, and his friend as well. H and I insisted on driving his friend home, so I was the driver of the drunks..haha. Actually, H wasn't drunk, just had drunk a lot. :)

I detest drunk driving, too. A college buddy of mine lost her dad b/c of a drunk driver. She was only in high school when it happened.

Good job I am proud of you. There's nothing that makes me more mad than a drunk driver. Had a ton more stories about that, unfortunately always involving the non-drunk drivers! I hate how that works! Im' glad you didn't let the hubby and his friend drive!!!!!! That's so sad bout your friend---I always hate hearing about stuff like that.

I feel like i Haven't been on here much lately.....been busy. This surgery rotation is kicking my butt! I feel like I have no time to do anything, so all I do is come home, sometimes workout and then sleep! Anyway, I am hoping to get back on serious track this week as my food's been very scattered. I weighed in this morning at 121.4 lbs. I will go to the grocery store today and plan out my week's food hopefully. Will be back on later tonight!

hey girl!
I know how it is been busy... COngrats on the 121! even though your busy seems like your weight is still low!
HOpe you have a great day:)

Thanks so much for visiting Amber! Yeah I think it's b/c I managed to exercise here and there and while the food I was eating wasn't that great for me, I didn't eat as much!

So, just went to the gym and did 30 min elliptical and 30 minute ST.....hopefully I keep it up this week!

Hi Priti

Well done for keeping up the exercise despite the long and busy hours. I see that the weight is still coming off for you. I know that it is slower than you would like - but you are so near goal now that it must be a bit like a watched pot never boils. Even a fraction of a pound is a great percentage of the last journey to goal now for you.

I gain weight sometimes with spicy marinades that I think are down to the sodium too. I end up often flavouring stir frys with things like garlic and chilli peppers.

It must be difficult for you dealing with tragedy at work. I really couldnt manage it. Well done for falling in love with a man with a lucrative career ahead of him. There are rich charming men as well as poverty stricken ones. I agree with Kimberly that it is as easy to fall in love with a rich man as a poor one.

I imagine the religious festivals that you were referring to included Diwali. I have benefitted from friends bringing sweets in to work at that time and describing it as a Hindu christmas - although I understand that it is a light festival. As Kimberly mentioned - we are more than happy to embrace festivals from other religions - especially those that can be used as an excuse to eat lots of yummy things.

Take care
Love
Margaret
