keepitoff83's diary!

Hi Priti!
I don't get a spring break so that's two of us stuck at home while everybody else seem to be on holiday!

Congrats for getting some exercise in even if the school gym was closed. Keep moving is soooo important!

Have a nice sunday!

India

Yeah I hate thinking that the weather's turning so beautiful, everyone has a week off, and I'm stuck in the confines of a dark and dull hospital! Oh well such is life :) I actually later found out that they had just shortened hours b/c of spring break. I am probably going to be heading there soon as I think it opens at 11! Thanks for visiting, India!

So, I wake up to a bright and sunny Sunday morning. I haven't had a beautiful day off like this in ages! So, even though I know in my head this is not a good idea, I walked over to the nearest Einstein Bagels, got myself a whole wheat bagel with veggie cream cheese, and a nice cup of hazelnut coffee (black). Those bagels have well over 300 calories just in them, not to mention the cream cheese added. Oh well, I guess I'll have to be good about my food the rest of the day. I hate when I do this, but it was just one of those mornings!

Edit: Accordng to fitday, I just ate 515 calories, with 17g of fat....OUCH. I REALLY need to watch myself the rest of today!

BB, just read that you posted earlier.....I hate ob/gyn. Most of the women I worked with were very crabby and moody, but supposedly beforehand, very nice. I don't want to be that person that turns into a huge b*&!#. Not worth it to me. :)

As for exercise today, I went to the gym, did 35 min elliptical and 15 min back exercises. Hopefully I'll go and do some more tonight as the week will be busy!

Ah, well, I can think of better things to do with my day than sticking my fingers up other women's hoohas...lmao. :D What I can't understand is how anyone can go into proctology. :ack2: Sorry, I usually reserve this dirty talk for my own diary...lmao.

Nice job on the exercise. :hurray:

busy day yesterday, did some exercise at the hospital, but not quite the gym work I wanted :). I will make sure to do some tonight when I get off work!

So I've had a very busy week. I managed to get in a decent amount of exercise in though, so I was pretty happy with that. Unfortunately, my weight loss was only 0.6 pounds. I am still not getting back to my all time low from 2-3 weeks ago, which is frustrating me. I guess I thought I'd be at goal weight my now, and I feel like I'm just at a stop sign and can't keep going :(. I am going to evaluate my diet and starting logging it in again to fitday, so I can see that I'm getting enough fiber/protein and not too much fat/sodium. I am worried that sodium intake may be halting this weight loss. Hopefully next week I can get at lesat a 1.5 pound loss. I have until Mon off, so I'm hoping to do a lot of exercise until then!

That's a good idea to check on your sodium intake, as it could very well be the reason your not getting back to your old low.

I hope next week's less busy for you. :) You still got in a lot of exercise despite your heavy workload. :hurray:

Hey girl thanks for stopping in my dairy!
COngrats on the .6 loss, its better then nothing or gaining that .6 and they add up.... good job on all the excerising, keep it up. I'm going to try to get some in this week to get my weight ging doen again! have a great weekend:)

Thanks Kimberly! Like I said I'm going to be closely following my sodium intake and I'm hoping that's the culprit so I can fix it! Next week I'm working all nights, but I think it'll work in my favor as I plan on working out when I get off my shift. I hear some nights when there are no traumas we just get to sleep so it shouldn't be too bad!

Amber: Thanks for stopping by! You're right, 0.6 lbs is better than gaining, which is what I did a bit of a couple weeks ago! I guess I should start looking at the positive side of things! Thanks for the encouragement!

I am on surgery but two weeks of it is TRAUMA, so we see all the car crashes, stabbings, gun shots. We had a guy who was stuck under a train for three hours the other day. We're the only level one trauma center in the area so we get a lot of neat things. Sad though! But you are right in thinking it's like ER, because we are down in the ER....just moreso in the trauma part of it :).

That must be very interesting. Sometimes I think I should've gone into medicine..lol. Do you watch ER? I love that show and am sad next year's the last season of it. wah wah

I can't imagine removing bullets and all that. Do you mostly observe at this point, or do you get to get in on the action?

Actually, they let us do a lot because we are "in training." Mostly I do a lot of stitching up of stuff on their bodies, but the more you ask to do the more they let you. We actually get to be part of the "docs" that are right up there in the action when the pt first arrives. I stopped watching ER a while ago, I'm stuck on Grey's Anatomy :) and am likely to start watching Scrubs :). Haha you can still go into medicine....never too late! Although you lose a lot of money in the process!!!!!!!!

Thanks India.

Happy Easter to everyone!

I just ordered some Jimmy John's, but I had them only add one slice of cheese instead of the billion they add and took away the mayo.....so it's some bread w/ veggies, I know not the best for me but better than eating it like it is :).

Anyway, me not being Catholic and all, today is just another day to me :). So off to study then workout later! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hi Priti

Happy Easter.
You should definitely join in all celebrations - whatever your faith.

I have already decided that next Easter I will eat chocolate - I havent had any this Easter or last Easter. When you get to maintenance - your should definitely consider it a good excuse to eat chocolate.

I hope that you manage to identify what is stopping you getting back to your low weight (and beyond). You are so near to goal that you will be there very quickly when you get some weightloss going. It has to be worth you doing the full analysis that you mention. It is often a case of hidden calories, inaccurate measuring or sodium. I weigh every day and find that my spreadsheet very very valuable. I log my daily weight and therefore daily variation against what I eat and everything else that could have a bearing on my weight (exercise, toilet activity, period info). It helped me identify the fact that cheese really does not agree with me for weight loss irrespective of the amount of calories involved.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Hey Margaret, thanks for visiting. Happy Easter to you too! I have been recording my foods on fitday again for the past few days, and I am realizing that even when I think my sodium is low, it's NOT! It is so frustrating! I am going to have to start finding foods lower in sodium. I'm definitely adding more veggies to my diet and not throwing them in the pre-bought stiry fry sauce I used to. I guess little things add up. I also have to increase my water intake. I was really good about that, but now that I'm on my surgery rotation, I almost forget to drink water and am always downing coffee b/c of the long hours we work! Hopefully since I am more aware I can fix this problem and get to my stinking goal weight!
