Saturday....drank like a MORON huh!?!?!.....geeeee MEEE TOO!!! LOL!!!! It's okay....we all deserve it baby!!! GOOD TIMES :D:!!!!!

Glad you had a great time though!!! WAAAAAAY TO GO on losing all them LBS!!! You are so inspiring and on a ROLLLLLLL!!!!! :jump: I love it!!!!

Thanks Alta!! I LIVED IT UP, but Sunday, I refocused and tried to get rid of all the "toxins" through workout!! Life happens right??? I'm still learning how to deal with it in this new LIFESTYLE!! ;) ;) :)

One of my favorite stories is when they met they were both working at the NY Plaza hotel. My Grandmother expressed an interest in him, but my Grandfather said to her, "I do not associate with those whom I work." Yeah, he really talked like that. Her resposne was something like "We'll see about that." and we know who won that one. :biggrinjester: You don't win against a determined Irish woman.

What a cute story!!

Congrats on benching 250x2. I would probably die. No, I would die. So yeah, reading that makes me hurt BUT congrats! lol :) Go bench your max on Friday. You can do it!!!

Awesome job on nutrition as well. Flawless all around. Great way to start off the week :)

I bought a huge box of protein mix but I have yet to drink it. It seems like most of you snacks are protein so I think I'll copy you and start drinking my shakes. The snacks I'm eating just aren't that fulfilling.

Thanks for all the positive encouragement :) You have definitely kick-started the week with an awesome day. You'll do great the rest of the week :) Keep up the hard work!

Mine met in NY also... pretty much right off the boat!! They lived there for about two years, then Gramps got a job workin' railroad(go figure!! That or some sort of building trade) around the Detroit area! They moved to Farmington Hills, Mich and stayed there the rest of their lives! I bet those times were great. I'm kind of a dork(love history), but I like that time period... so much going on all over the world! They were a "GREAT" generation!!

Hmmm, my great grandma (dad's mom's mom) came from Yugoslavia in 1905. She met my great grandpa in San Francisco, in a port--he was on a ship that took bootleg liquor from Canada to Mexico. He was Welsh. He said he liked her because of her BIG TITS. LOL!!!! She was blond with blue eyes--totally different from my mom's side.....ah, family! It's good to be mixed, I tell ya!

Hi JZ;

I just read the first entry in your diary ... inspiring stuff. It's always good to hear about a fellow human being rise up after a fall. Most of us, been there, done that and you are in good company. My Ex left me also, but I always thought that said more about him than me. lol You are on such a great path and wow about your over 30 pound weight loss already.

I'm looking forward to reading more in your diary.
Have a good one,
Lili

Keep up that awesome bench press JZ! I cannot WAIT till you can bench more than you weigh!!

Have an awesome night :)

Jess- Thanks for the kind and encouraging words as well!! Yes... eat your protein!!! It "stays" with you longer and you feel full longer. I wasn't getting enough actually, till a few WISE people on here shared some good thoughts. Since then, I have gotten the "appropriate amounts" and have felt more energetic and my hunger for food happens WAY less!! :)

2Skinny- Thanks for droppin' in. I appreciate all comments, wit and humor, and advice... as for the getting back up when you fall... Thanks for noticing my "progress"!! It's been challenging, but also REWARDING!! I'm not sure who said this, but I like it... "Adversity introduces a man to himself". I was LOST in a relationship and had forgotten who I was... so maybe I beleive that "adversity RE-introduces a man to himself"... I've always had it, I just gave it away to try and help everyone else but me! OK, enough about that junk!! Swing in anytime, Thanks! :)

Bunny - I love stories like that... especially when they invole "BIG TITS"!! :D :D I LOVE HISTORY... and alot of that is stories of "everyday people" and what they went through, and how they overcame adversity. One of my favorite books is a collection of "personal letters" from soldiers to their families around the time of the revolution. You can almost see and feel what they were going through, and realize the human side of history. :)

Tuesday - 52minutes steady state cardio on the elliptical. Thank God for I-Pods!! Good workout, but I feel it lacked intensity, so I also did some jumprope and the heavy bag in the pm!! My eating was great, GOT ALL MY PROTEIN, and finished with about 2,900 calories. I'm having FAITH that my body is using all the calories to the MAX!! We shall see!

After the pm workout... I could not sleep. I ended up pulling out my guitar and playing for two hours!! I can't seem to put it down sometimes!! :D At 1245am, I finally set it down and went to sleep. My am workout this morning was NOT effected however, which is good, but I'll post that info in "Wenesdays official post" later.

I doubled up on the cardio, so I feel pretty good about that, but in all honesty, I feel like it was actually only 1.5 times as much effort. I need to keep things interesting!!

Understood--way to go to play the guitar! ??????????

Steady State cardio sucks IMO, unless you're outside running or jogging in the forest or on the beach....but I'm a spoiled bunny! :D

Hey JZ! :)

Awesome work-out today :) Elliptical is my BFF lol. A few people on here mention jump-roping. How do you like that? I used to be a pro back in third/fourth grade. :p Not so sure how I'd fare now but I think I'm going to pick it up. Change my routine up a bit :)

Great job on doubling your cardio!

Before I started doing intervals and HIIT, I loved steady state cardio and I felt like I was REALLY pushing myself. Then I tried intervals and I DEFINITELY notice a difference. I totally can relate to lacking intensity. There's always tomorrow! :)

As always, great job with nutrition and getting all your protein in. I honestly don't know how you do it. My protein shake yesterday was NASTY and I felt SO sick afterwards. Totally skipping on that today :-X

Keep it up!

What up JZ ? Your workouts are making me very very tired. ha ha ha

If you play guitar that often, I expect a CD coming out pretty soon. You can sing about nutrition, weight loss, and hitting the gym. We'll help with lyrics.
:coolgleamA:

Have a great night.

Trops is the JUMP MASTER he does 10,000... yes, 10,000 jumps per session, but a few of us here try and keep up!! It is awesome!! It's such a great cardio excercise and I like it cause I like to pretend I'm a boxer in training! ;) My last jumping session, I did 522 in a row, then continued on and ended up doing a total of around 2000. I am DEAD after that!! I think you would enjoy it, you should totally give it a go!

Great job on doubling your cardio!

Thanks, but as I said, the second session was like a "Damn, I'm not satisfied with my AM cardio session" thing.

I only do HIIT like once, maybe twice a week. You are suppossed to spread out the sessions. I think it's only meant to shock your system every few days(5-7) ?? There are way better people on here who could tell you better than I... if any of them are reading... please chime in for Jess! But anyways, I still do steady state and enjoy it, but for some reason, on Tuesday, my mind just wasn't into it???

There are MANY whey protein powders out on the market, try to find one that doesn't upset your stomach. I use the EAS brand, and haven't had any issues *knocks on wood*, check it out. No need to feel sick or want to :puke: !!!

Thanks for your post!! :) :)

Hey Lilli (great name ;) ;) ), don't expect a cd anytime soon... I only play at "drunken bon fires", parties, around the house, or family events!! I play well, but my voice... let's just say it's on the low end of average!!! :D I saw your diary, and your workout was great as well!!

Wednesday

AM Lower body workout. I only got 4 hours sleep, but I had a great session anyway!!! I increased weight on all lifts, and opened with the jump ups, so no falls!! At the end, I tried to extend my wall sit... I got to just over twelve minutes, and my HAM was on fire!!! Getting to 15 minutes sounds impossible... but I'll keep trying!! If I had gotten to 13 minutes I would have said 10, I didn't, so I'll rate this one a 9.7!! Don't give in next time!!!

Food - I'm going to take the liberty of either listing everything or just summing up my nutrition in a few words from now on... I OWN my eating, so some days I'll list what I ate, and some I won't. My Journal right?? If I get off track, I will definately return to posting for the beating Cabbie is supposed to give me!!! I track it at fitday anyways.

Food - I ate CLEAN and PLENTIFUL today. I missed my protein goal by 12 grams... I'll make up for it tomorrow!!

A good day... on to tomorrow!!! :)

JZ you are on fire. I think that listing everything you eat can be very helpful at the beginning, but after you get the hang of it, you know what you should and shouldn't be eating.

Great job on the workouts. I know that my intensity is much lower then I'd like it to be, but that is cyclical. As long as I'm making improvements I'm happy. :cheers2:

Thanks Trops. I'm still tracking the food, but like you said... I know what I should be eating!!
I hear you on intensity being cyclical... sometimes I'm CONNECTED and FULL GO, and sometimes I feel like I'm just going through the motions!! Luckily, more of the former than the latter!!

My thinking is that it's probably just as important to get that workout in on the days that you just aren't feeling it as it is on the days where you are roaring to go. Perhaps more. It's those low motivation days that will multiply and sabotage your path if you just ignore it. Getting in there and doing a half ass job will set you up for the great workout. That's my theory, anyway.

:iagree: as usual!! Getting back to the "knowing" part of things... the eating, and the excercise... I've always known. I don't know about you, but when I'm going to do things, I study them like crazy, constantly making sure I'm informed! I had so much information, it was choking my ACTION!! I guess what I mean, is I had the information, I knew how to eat, and from being a decent former athlete, I knew how to work out. The HARD part was SIMPLY doing it!! Yes, I love contradicting my self in ONE sentence!!! :D
