I use this stuff called omega smart balance. It has flax oil that balances the omega 6 and omega 3's I read something somewhere that you should try to balance these. i really gotta learn to start bookmarking stuff.

oh yeah but anyhoo its pretty much like natural peanut butter no hydrogenated oil, no added sugar etc
 
45 minutes of soccer is cardio, so bravo! looks like we're both doing those things we hate. ;) Oh, and random question, which smart start are you having? the healthy heart or antioxidants? it's an ongoing poll Matt and I have to see which is more popular, his favorite or mine.

Antioxidants. And yes, as long as I'm having fun doing the cardio, so it doesn't feel like cardio, I enjoy it. That's why the tennis, the hockey, the soccer, the boxing... plus I won't get bored.
 
so it's not that you don't like cardio, you just don't like boredom. and it looks like you're on my side of the cereal debate, so thanks for the extra vote. :D
 
You have to be careful with the "all natural" peanut butter. All natural sometimes includes palm oil and such. The all natural that I get is peanuts and salt. Doesn't get more all natural then that. I also figure if you want to add some flax, better to do that separate. That way you know exactly what it is that you have.

There is so much to learn about this stuff!! Thanks for the heads up/opinion. I'll have to study up before jumping into the peanut butter!
 
I get the Trader Joe's brand. Only a dollar sixty nine for a one pound jar. Of course the nearest Trader Joe's is 25 miles away, so I have to stock up or pay more for gas then I'm saving.

I think Smuckers brand is also just peanuts and salt.

JZ, popping in for the first time on ya because it looks like we're both trying to be as determined and motivated as possible. Make a deal with you... I'll kick your ass for slacking if you do, you kick mine... deal?

I totally get what Shandy said about boredom and cardio. Put me on a bicycle and give me a place to ride and I'm there. I can go for hours. Stick me indoors on a stationary bike and I'll be watching the clock until my minimum 30 minutes is up. I just hate it. I'll do it, but I hate it.

Thanks for "popping" in, and that mutual I'll kick yours if you kick mine sounds like a deal. I get the bike thing... I've got a Trek 1000, can ride it all day long(actually ride in the "MS bike to the Bay" every year...it's a 75 mile per day, two day ride to benifit MS), but put me on one of those "gym" bikes and I can't stand it!!

You'll laugh and enjoy my amazing company, that's what you can do with me. :D and I'm noticing a trend here, there's a lot of kicking going on. JZ kicks me to do my weights, I kick him to do his cardio, and now we've got Karl coming in to kick JZ too. this could get painful. ;)
 
Hey JZ! Hope you had another fantastic day! I was thinking about you and how good your diet is when I was eating CRAP for lunch today (not literally eating CRAP... but that might be healthier for me than what I DID eat lol)!:blush5:
 
Day 9

Skipped the early morning Cardio today... new I was playing tennis tonight.

Breakfast - Egg beaters omlet (Southwest Style), 1 wheat 100 cal english muffin
Snack 1 - Yogurt, small apple
Lunch - Grilled chicken Salad, cottage cheese
Snack 2 - R2DS
Dinner - Grilled Salmon and mixed veggies
Snack 3 - granola bar (post workout...I was hungry)

10 -16oz bottles of water

Cardio - 1 Hour of tennis, 1 hour of "doubles" tennis = sore today...but in a good way!

Got to bed late! Need to try to get there sooner.

Day 9 was a success... on to day 10!
 
Ooh I LOVE grilled salmon! I hate grilled chicken though... there are some foods (mostly meats) that I can't stand after being pregnant. Unfortunately, grilled chicken is one of them. Of course I still like the fried stuff though WTH?!

Just returning a favor is all! And I too am extremely glad to have found this forum. I don't know if right at this time in my life I could be accountable for my nutrition/exercise to myself...someday sure... but if I wasn't sharing the journey and getting support, and returning that favor... I don't know if things would be going as well for me... actually, I know they wouldn't.
 
how odd, we had the exact same breakfast. funny, but odd.
Anyways! good job on the tennis, see cardio can be fun, you just have to pick the right activities. Glad you're doing so great with everything.

I OWNED that gym this morning!!! I mean I do, but I mean I OWNED it! Upper body workout was intense, challenging, but… Oh SO REWARDING! Left that place high as a kite. 10…yes, 10 on a scale of 1-10. Did I mention it was my first 10. I just let the weights do the work is all… :D

Breakfast – two wheat 100 cal English muffins with one TBS all natural PB… Delicious! (thanks RJ)
Snack 1 – earlier than usual… One R2DS
Lunch – Boca Burger, baby carrots
Snack 2 – Plan on having… 1 large pearapple, yogurt
Dinner – Plan on having… Seasoned brown rice over shredded chicken with taco seasoning

8-10 16oz bottled waters throughout the day.

Busy later today, so I’m posting now for the complete day. I have my "snack 2" with me, and my dinner ready to throw in the microwave when I get home, so I WILL stick to the nutrition plan. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that today was a success, and I’m looking forward to the “boxing” W.O. in the morning! Takin’ a page from Trops… JUMP ROPE for 35 minutes no matter what followed by 20-30 minutes of heavy bag work. Should kick my butt but get me going for the rest of the day!

Also, going to try to be in bed tonight by 10pm! I have not hit this mark, even sick, in probably 10 years! We’ll see.

Way to go JZ!!! That is AMAZING!!! Glad you had a great workout!!! Way to KILL IT!!!! ;)
