Justina's February Diary

I'm glad that your friend joined you in working out. It's so much more fun exercising with somebody else. I get a lot of visitors and it is difficult to keep up with healthy eating and exercising while they are here.

Its really cool that instead of letting a vistitor pull you out of your exercise groove, you pulled her into it! Thats great! And...BEWARE THE BUFFETT!!!

You are absolutely correct....go you, go you.

btw - I think reading about your grapefruit put the thought in my subconscious and I picked one up the other day. I be enjoying it tomorrow or Friday.

Hey Justina! I hope you have a faboulous time with your London friend - and congrats on getting them to join in on your healthy lifestyle choices!

Thanks everyone - you guys rock!!! :grouphug:

Jennifer: beware - grapefruit can be addictive hehehehe!

Yes i am very lucky with my friend she is totally supportive.
she came to the gym today again with me yay!!!

ok BUFFET....Yep we went to the Asian buffet thing today - and they just had the most amazing food!!! YUM yum.
i managed to do quality control - but i totally failed the quantity.... :(
i had 2 big plates of sushi!! i mean its all good for me - bc its rice and fish and seaweed and prawns and salmon etc...all good...
then i had a bit of rice noodeles wth some vegetables.
& finished up with fruits: lychee, fresh pineapple and some jello.
i was so full i could hardly move. so was my friend.
so we both decided to head to the beach - it was nice and sunny - and had a 90 minute stroll.

then we hit the gym - i did 90 mins cardio. - well needed after me pigging out on sushi.

Today i also had breakie: cereals + banana
Dinner: 2 grapefruits
i need to drink more water..and herbal tea

So there...i ll do damage control tomorrow morning - check the scale...
*sigh*..fingers crossed.

scale showed no damage at all - yay!

but today we went out for "tapas" and i think i overdid it...welll not compared to how i used to eat before its more like what had.
we shared patatas bravas which is deep fried potato wedges in a mayo base spicey dressing...booo at me. i also had pickled anchovies and some king prawns al pil pil for lunch...
oh and i had a small choco bar: it s like half a bounty coco covered with black chocolate...it was delish....
i also had cereals with banana for breakie
and a big grapefruit for dinner.

We had an amazing day here on the coast today - sunnny and 21 C !!!! & its febreuary. so we were walking on the beach a lot and had a some nice fesh orange juice.

I also had a 90 min cardio workout...i really should do some weighs...i m lame...
i m going out tonight with some friends...i ll try to stick to water..
fingers crossed

GRRRrrrrrrrrrrr
not a good day....
i dont understand how i cd put on weight. but i did..... 0.6KG (maybe its just water but it really put me in a bad mood)
i mean i did slip at lunch time yesterday...but i didnt eat massive amounts...and thn i had a 90min cardio workout and a VERY light lunch....
:banghead:
today i had normal breakfast...
but then we went to an indian lunch....feast!
( i ate the same as my skinny friends- i bet they dont put on even a gram)
anyway then i went to swim for 75 minutes
oh yeah i didnt have dinner.
see what happens tomorrow...
i m dreading it- its scale day!
HELP!

I just love Indian cuisine! :drool5:

Don't worry, you're doing so great with the exercise and all, so I would be very surprised if you're not gonna keep on losing weight in the long run.

Good luck on your weigh in!

Scale day...
and must say not a happy one.....up 0.1 kg...:nopity:
i m furious...yes i had a few unhealthy food choices - i went o restaurants (indian. tapas) but and a big but i always stayed under 1300 calories and every single day i did at least a 90 min workout...(swimming, walking, cardio, fitness balll etc)
i m also disappointed dc during the week it was down from 96,9 to 96,4 and i ended up with 97kg...which is up 0.1...
My friend left today and tomorrow my grandparents are with me - they live far from me - and now they are coming to see me for a week (bc i live by the sea and my grandma loves the sea) so its gonna be nice to see them....i really wanna be in good spirit for them. so i hope i can work on it until tomorrw when they arrive. fingers crossed
today my menu was not really nutritious..i m not feeling really motivated - yet i havent given up at all - just didnt put much effort in it.

Breakie: cereals + banana
Lunch: greek pasta: black olives, feta, spinach, cherry tomato
Snack: 2 grapefruits + few strawberries
Dinner: (blushing) - i picked out the chocolate coated cereals from my Fitness cereal box...
Drink: water and tea

Workout: 60 min cardio inthe gym

I really hope i can celebrate some considerable weightloss next sunday - i really need to cheer up. i ll try to put together some helathy menu - something that my grandparents would enjoy too.

You're doing so good on your exercise! Maybe you are gaining some muscle mass or if you are sore you may have DOMS. Otherwise, with your diet and all, I'm sure it only could be a flucuation in fluid levels. You'll lose weight in the long run if you just keep it up!

Yesterday i got a bit caught up.
i had to go to airport to pick up grandparents - so here are my food choices for yesterday:

breakie: cereals/banana
snack (airport) : carrot cake/skinny late

dinner: vegetable soup

so there - i did some good deeds.
tomorrow i WILL go to the gym - i will!

i never realized it was so much work to have my grandparents here. they are awesome, and i really enjoy having them around - but cooking cleaning up etc...i never stop - i guess i just take it as a training for my future family :)

Hi Justina - just getting caught up on the diary. Sounds like you are doing really well with exercise. Perhaps you are limiting your calories too much or not eating at regular intervals (skipping meals) and your body is clinging on to the fuel you have consumed.

I've had many days of wondering why I would go up - usually it has something to do with my diet - too much salt - not enough fiber.....but I keep plugging along and eventually my body has to give up that weight.

I agree with Jennifer, you are doing great with the exercise. I've been enjoying the warmer weather as well and getting out a lot walking although this weekend it is going rainy again. I can't wait for spring to really kick in . I love spring and autumn weather. Have a great weekend

thanks for dropping by! :)

Jennifer: you are probably right about the salt in food @ restaurants...i just couldnt avoid them while i had guests...now i won have anybody for 2 weeks - yay!
i guess thats gonna accelerate things - fingers crossed.

Ecky: yeah the weather is AMAZING - it s been like this for over a week now - we had 26 degrees today! in february!! quite a few ppl on the beach - and not only tourists. Did you get the rain in the end? i hope not!

Tomorrow is Scale day - and also my grandparents are flying back home - so i have to be up at 6am :( poor me.
and then i ll come back and then i ll have to go to the gym. i gonna be knackered.

First today...somewhat naughty day...
Breakie: toast with jam and butter
Snack: date (yum)
Lunch: tapas (anchovies/1 meatball/a few king prawns, bread :( /octopus)
Snack: coco icecream :(
Dinner: half a bounty :(
i know i totally suck - especially a day before my scale day... :banghead:

(sauna!! :) )
