Justina: Back to square one - very excited & determined to do this right

Don - Thanks Don, I appreciate it!

Camila - I am glad I could be juice-spiration :) for you! Pepper sucked in the juice.. It could be because I don't like pepper to start with - only a kind that's rarely available here - but mostly I only liked it cooked/roasted etc. I do eat it raw in salads if I cut it to small pieces and mix it in with other things though. Anyway according to my husband the juice tasted good (he tried it) - so it could be just me.

Hana - thanks so much!! It's easier to stick with it than I previously thought!

Mystic - thanks!!

Xenon - thanks!! Some of them ARE tasty!! :) Water snacks! I know :) it does sound funny - i do drink a lot of water!

JUICING - Day 3

So I am still feeling well - something I am surprised at a little. I don't feel hungry!! I cannot look at yummy foods on blogs or cook books though for long - even though I just did that last night - looking for a soup recipe in my Italian cook book.

Juicing is quite an experience. I am happy that I have started it & I love seeing the scale moving!! I wish I could just do it for 60 days and be done with the whole weight loss thing. I know I could but I don't want to. I think it's a great reboot! I wish I had discovered it earlier. What I think I'd do is a 3-5 day reboot once a month until I reach my goal weight. And I will just continue with my healthy diet plan as always.

Juicing: I have mixed the vegetables & fruits in a way that I get a good variety of everything. I also add a small spoon of coconut oil to some of my juices to make sure that fat soluble vitamins could absorb. I like to experiment a bit with the different veggies, and I have found that certain things I cannot stomach - but I also found many combos that I love! One of my absolute favorite is: apple, lime & mint!! L O V E it!!

Today I am having:
Pre-breakfast: Lemon water
Breakfast/Morning: Carrot, Apple, Grapefruit - 2 big glasses
Lunch/afternoon: Celery, cucumber, ginger, grapefruit & Lemon - 2 big glasses
Dinner/evening: Kale, beetroot, lemon, orange, carrot, cucumber, apple - 2 big glasses
+WATER WATER WATER

BTW I lost 7 lbs since Saturday.

Great job on the dropped pounds.

Apple, lime and mint. Sounds tasty (which I don't need) and like a mouthwash, which I probably do need.

Oh my goodness, you are totally inspiring me to do the reboot. Not even for the weight loss, but it just sounds very cleansing and refreshing overall. My only worry is that I feel I could not do it. Some might call it lack of willpower....haha, and I agree with that. :) In any case, I so admire you for doing this and do not be surprised if I come knocking at your door in the near future looking for tips on how to survive doing a reboot!

You are doing absolutely incredible!

Kudos for the juice reboot! I think it's smart to only do a 3-5 day reboot, rather than for 60 days.

Congrats on the 7lb loss!!!

This sounds like a great idea. I'll try to get a juicer before next month and might do a couple days of juice fasting with you in May :biggrinjester:

I'm with Camila on the lack of willpower, haha. It sounds like such a fantastic idea and is obviously working great for you. Thanks for being such a good influence on us!

Jen renee - thanks! :) I m happy to see that number too!

MrVee - thanks! Apple-lime-mint juice is tasty and healthy!!! You need some tasty! :D

Hana - thanks! Yes I am really pleased with the results!

Camila - I am happy I have inspired you. Losing weight with juice fast is NOT optional - it's a side effect, a happy side effect!!!

Cory- thanks! I figured 60 days is a bit excessive, especially that I have been eating well for over a year now (just too much occasionally) 3-5 days sound reasonable to me!

Mystic - thanks! Great loss indeed!

Xenon - thanks! I'd love if you joined in the juicing in May!

Laura F - thanks you are really sweet! I am surprised I have the willpower to do it too! It's not as hard as I though it would be.

JUICING DAY 4

Wow! I made it to day 4! I haven't cheated!! I drink nothing but fresh vegetable & fruit juice. And water, lots of it!!!
Yesterday I felt so good - I went to the track and walked 3 miles!!! I honestly cannot believe how well I am - considering that I don't eat "food".

I prepare food for my husband - before I started the juicing I thought it would be hell to do that - but it's not a problem. Yesterday I made him pizza & I watched him eat it while I was sipping my celery juice!!! Pretty crazy!!

So I am never hungry! & my cravings are getting better. The first days I was craving all sorts of yummy meals - even though I wasn't hungry. Today I am fine! I don't have cravings.

One more day to go.

Today's menu:
Pre-Breakfast: Lemon- water
Breakfast/Morning: pineapple, ginger, orange - 2 large glasses
Lunch/Afternoon:cucumber, celery, kale, apple, carrot, ginger, lemon, orange, cucumber - 2 large glasses
Dinner/Evening: Grapefruit, carrot, apple - 2 large glasses
WATER!!!

Exercise: stationary bike for an hour

I lost 8 lbs since Saturday.

Holy amazing! It is so incredible to hear you so enthusiastic and lively. You are my inspiration, no question. I only hope that I am half as successful as you have been.

How are you going to break the fast? That's one thing I'm worries about. Gaining at least some of the weight back seems inevitable. I've read some people who just eat fruit and veg for a few days after. Others prefer broth. I cannot wait to see how things go for you when the reboot is finished! You are amazing!

Camila - Thanks! :)
Good question about breaking the fast. I am going to eat just fruit and vegetable for at least one day after the fast.
I am not crazy about it - but I thought about it - and I think it's worth it.
It probably won't be so hard considering that I only had juice for 5 days.
Then the second day I m thinking to make a salad with quinoa, like tabulah. I love that. I was thinking about making vegetable soup too.
By Sunday I want to eat legumes like chickpeas.. I know a really good salad with that & I want to start high intensity exercising then. So fingers crossed I wont gain the weight.
If i gain a pound or two back - temporarily - I won't worry about it.

Hey Justina

Good job on the fast, I have been thinking about myself read it helps cut out the cravings....but I don't know that I would have the willpower to do it....expecially no coffee I need my one cup a day if I listen to myself I would have the intre pot lol! Congrats on the 7lb lost and hope the transition back to regular eating works out well for you!

That sounds pretty similar to what I was thinking. I will have to keep up on your entries to see how it goes for you. (I feel a little guilty starting right as you are ending...I can steal all of your tips. ;)) I think I might do fruit & veg the first day with some veggie broth in the evening. That is actually what I am craving right now..veggie broth haha!

Hope you are having a great day!

Vero - thanks! You can have a coffee if you want - it is not recommended - but allowed. I guess I got the willpower because no matter what I did the numbers weren't going down! Once you put your mind to something - willpower comes along! :)

Camila - no worries - :D you can come and get tips/ideas! For some reason I m craving broth too with lots of vegetables! I am making one on Friday - it's in the 15 day plan - if you have a look. So i guess it allowed.
