Justina: Back to square one - very excited & determined to do this right

Cory - get ready- because we are about to lose some serious weight!!! :D Perfect timing for the competition really!!

Camila - I really don't like going to the gym here - my goal is motivating me! :) pretty clothes and stuff haha (i am shallow I know...I have no health problems at all - so I concentrate on looking good lol)
I lived in London & I loved it - to be honest it's very similar to NY. Not because of the skyscrapers of course...mind you London has skyscrapers too - but the whole vibe of the city, activities, different cultures. NY really reminded me of London.
Juicing:I started to do evening juicing when I had a big lunch and I wanted to balance out my calories - it has no other significance whatsoever. In fact I think you are doing a good job giving your body all the goodies in the morning - a great start to the day. You are doing it well!

Don - Thanks!! Exercise: what are you talking about? :D you are doing tons of exercise! DVD & stuff - I just read it on your diary!!

Scale moving , Gym going, & London baby !! Yay, Yay, Yay !!
U R on a roll miss Justina ;)

Hi Justina,

Great job on your weight loss!

I really wanna try juicing! I've made smoothies by blending water with mixed greens and fruit but I've yet to take on the juicer yet.

Do you listen to music while your on the elliptical/treadmill? I watch netflix on my Iphone while I'm on the elliptical and it makes it easier to stay on longer. Unfortunately my gym doesn't have wifi so my phone plan is pretty pricey :p

Mystic: Thanks Mystic - hahaha - I hope yours moves soon too!

Maryann: Thanks Maryann! :)

Katie: Hey Katie thanks for stopping by! Juicing is awesome - you should definitely try it!!
In the gym I watch tv - all machines have an integrated tv & we can pick the channel - otherwise an hour would be too boring...I prefer class exercises - but before I go to a class I wanna raise my fitness level a bit!

------------------------------------------------------

I m loving the scale guys - so much! I have been waiting for it to move for 2 weeks now....Finally!!!!

OK, few announcements.

I HAVE BEEN CHOCOLATE FREE FOR 6 WEEKS!!! :hurray: I am very proud but I can't wait until this weekend - I can have it again YAY! Lent will be over.

I HAVE BEEN STARBUCKS FREE SINCE SUNDAY!! yay! :hurray: Well I want to keep consumption there to the minimum - my wallet will thank me & and my body too....So i probably will have SBs once a week.

Also things are starting to come together for our life after the move (slooooowly....but still it's happening) - we know more and more every day.

I am going flower shopping today - I usually buy flowers for special occasions. Well, it's Easter, but more importantly I want to feel (at least when I m home & don't suffer the winter winds) that spring is HERE.

Food:
B: Ezekiel bread with cheese
S: Banana
L: Pasta +tuna& olives in garlicy olive oil - yummy!
S: tea, nuts, mandarin
D: Juicing :)

E: gym

Ok firstly, there is always a good excuse to buy flowers!!!

And yayyyy for the scale!!! Your hard work is paying off. And look at you with all of your willpower! No chocolate, no Starbucks...you are just doing fabulous!

Also, it has got to be a huge stress relief to have things start coming together for the move. I have a hard enough time moving across town...I can't imagine a big move!

I actually like the idea of using juicing as a balancing act for your other meals throughout the day. I just hate that I never know how many calories are in my juices...I mean I can sort of estimate by adding all of the veggies/fruits up...but I can't account for all of the skin. I don't know. Your method does make a lot of sense.

Happy Wednesday to you! And thank you so much for the natural sinus infection remedies. Seriously, you are so sweet for forwarding that info to me!

~Camila~

Mystic & Maryann - thanks!!!

Cory -Good luck with the soda - i just phased that out slowly. I barely ever crave it anymore.

Camila -The move is really stressful - we find new "situations" every day - like today - so fingers crossed we solve them.
As for the juicing - I would not worry about the calories in the juice - honestly - you won't put on any weight when you drink them - consider them "water". I know they have calories - but as i heard someone say today - not everything is about calories..it's defo that category.
I hope your sinus infection is better x

------------------------

It was so sunny today & warm for a change!! I loved it - so now we are in for a rainy, stormy weekend...YAY! Typical...

I did not end up going to the gym. Instead I did my 10 min solution TARGET TONING DVD workout - 40mins + some extra exercise to bring it up to an hour.

We did grocery shopping. YAY! I love doing that. we are on a budget now... we totally overspent last/this month :banghead:...so we only spent $70 for next week for 2 people - including a bottle of wine for Easter Sunday. (for all organic it's not bad) In any case, it means we have to cut back on juicing for a while.. From now on juicing is only for 3-4 days a week - it's still good. the rest of the week we'll have salad for dinner. I am happy with that compromise. I honestly prefer juicing to salad. I prefer the taste but I know eating salads are super good too... :D

Foods today:
B: Ezekiel toast+butter + latte
S:Banana
L: Home made chicken korma + jasmine rice
S: Nuts, clementine
D: Juicing

E: Exercise DVD

Great job on the workout! Sometimes it is fun to do something a little different to shake the routine up! Oh man, overspending on groceries is SO easy!!! Sorry you must cut back on juicing, though 3-4 days is still GREAT! Who knows, maybe switching the diet around a bit will be a blessing! I've always heard that when losing weight you should try to shake up the routine sometimes, so who knows!

I'm super jealous...I love love love chicken korma!!! Yummy!!!! It got warmer here today as well. Seeing the sun shining outside makes me so much more motivated to exercise. Hopefully the rain doesn't last too long!

Happy Thursday!

p.s. Every time I go into Trader Joe's I am so tempted to buy a bottle of organic wine. I really can't justify it though...since I'd probably drink the entire bottle myself (bf is not a wine drinker). Because if I don't drink the entire bottle it will all go to waste. I should look into one of those wine saver gadgets...anyways, enjoy your vino! Have a glass for me!

~Camila~

Camila - You are right - I think I ll benefit from eating more salad. I need more fiber :D I just prefer the taste of juice. Evening salads are boring (cheap) , when I make salad for lunch I make more effort!
I tried organic wine - I bought conventional today. If I were you I'd try that bottle of organic wine - my husband doesn't drink wine either - just get a cork for the bottle - and you can put it in the fridge- it takes me 3-4 days to finish it :)

The nice weather we are getting lately is lovely!!! I walked to my car without a jacket on today (in my very thin grooming outfit) and was not the slightest bit cold, and had to immediately turn the temp in my car to cold.
I spend far too much on groceries as well. My poor bank account!!

Starbucks AAAANNNDDD chocolate free!!! Whoooohooooo!! You are doing fabulous girl!

Great job on the weight loss!

Sounds like things are going really well :)

No chocolate - heroic effort!
No starbucks - good riddence!!

Scale shifting - go go go GO!

I know its budget busting but doesn't buying good food feel good? I never really appreciated health food grocery stores before now - but now I spend ages wandering around them! Costs me a fortune though...no wonder the vast majority in the modern world eat processed rubbish - its so much more economically viable. Sad really when it costs less to buy a pack of chicken fingers than a bit of brocolli.

Anyhow, keep it up girl, YOU ARE DOING GREAT!

hey Justina, sounds like you are making some great choices! Good job!!
When you have that salad, I would suggest you always have some form of protein (meat or boiled egg) and a healthy fat, like olive oil dressing. It will keep you feeling fuller longer! My problem with just lettuce salad was that I was always starving after a couple of hours and then over ate on all the wrong stuff! Better to eat more of the healthy stuff than any of the not healthy stuff!
Keep up the good work girl!
Sarah

Isn't it just awesome to feel spring in the air? It is so easy to overspend on groceries....they add up!! I better be careful in the future.

Thanks Jjay! I loooove grocery shopping for healthy food - it makes me feel good in every way. I honestly don't understand though why is it that if I want less ingredients in my food I have to pay more? I look forward to moving from here - our organic grocery store has no competition here - they can pretty much charge whatever they want.

Thanks Sarah! Well, when I have salad in the evening I usually put fish (tuna) or feta cheese in it - to make it more substantial - but just gets boring. Our budget it tight for now to make it more exciting - I reserve more exciting food for lunch. I tend not to eat too much for dinner - so it's ok, I am kind of used to it. I agree with you: better to eat more of the healthy stuff than any of the non healthy stuff :)

----------------------------

Early morning *yawn* A lot on my mind today. Some things don't go exactly as planned - so just fretting over them...yet I feel i m not able to do anything - as it's out of my hand... You know when you fill out a form, and you submit it - and the lady puts it in a drawer..and you have the distinct feeling that she never puts it on a certain person's desk - as she is supposed to because your matter is urgent...now it could be lost...and I can't just go up to her and accuse her. And I don't have the certain person's phone number either. I am so frustrated... Plus this is important. It could take 6-8 weeks if it goes on top of the pile...but if she loses it and we don't have the paper back then we have to submit another form...and we simply don't have that kind of time.....:smash: MAD..

on a happier note..scale is super nice today..hope it stays this good tomorrow - for the weigh in day! Fingers crossed.

I had Ezekiel toast for breakfast with butter, and latte. I am planning on having a banana later for snacking.

Lunch: Falafel sandwich with home made tzatziki sauce
& Dinner will be juicing!!! yay!!

Exercise - not decided yet - weather is miserable...but I wanna go to the gym.

Sorry to hear about the stress, Justina. Take it out in the form of exercise! :) Good luck on your weigh-in tomorrow... you deserve a great one after all the hard work you're doing.

Hey Justina, I hear you on the "system" being frustrating sometimes...and nothing you can do about it...hope it turns out ok, but being patient and waiting is so hard....
..glad to hear your scale is being good , and homemade tzatziki sounds yum ! ... and hope U make it to the gym today...( ?is it open today with the stat holiday?)...

Glad to hear about the good scale numbers.

As for the bureaucrat hopefully they aren't as incompetent as it would appear. They probably are, but you never know.

Keep up the good work.
