Justina: Back to square one - very excited & determined to do this right

You must've posted at the same time as me!!! Sorry to hear you're going through some stuff right now, that's never fun... Congrats on the loss though, 4.5lbs is huge!

Hope all is ok xx

Really sorry to hear about the emotional turmoil. Try not to let it take your attention from the great effort you've been putting in with your eating & exercise. A few years ago, I lost a bunch of weight and was on track until an incident in my life upended me and derailed me until this month... it's important now more than ever to keep focus.

GREAT job on the weight loss! That is a huge drop in such a short time.

Hehehe I used to run at the gym too, however the treadmills were facing AWAY from the mirrors (thankfully lol). I like the mirrors, you kind of need them to check your form when doing heavy lifts. Makes life easier!! Wish I could get Ash to exercise with me here, he came to a few spin classes with me when we were gym members back home (and he loved them) but he won't just do a workout because I am! He so needs to, he does so much lifting at work with improper form and I swear he's going to hurt himself one of these days. He already gets back pain (boys can be so silly!)

Food looks good, I haven't had sauerkraut in forever!

Hey agree, mirrors could be good. besides you look so pretty!!! :)
but yeah like the mirror for belly dancing, or weights - they help you to do things right.
I hope you can get Ash to go to the gym with you.
& sauerkraut is soooo yum! i invented a super easy soup recipe and low in calories too!

Yeah, could be. thanks for your support Lucy, hoping that things get better.

Hey thanks for your support!! I don' know why i m doing the opposite of emotional eating right now - so not me...but I am not complaining - maybe because I am on this challenge ? who knows!
I am totally happy with the weight loss. thanks!

I am feeling a lot better today. Thanks for support on this thread, gold team thread & messages.
You guys rock.

I weighed myself today. & I m 256.5 lbs - I am down 2.5 from yesterday.
I know I ate stupidly little yesterday - but today I am back to normal eating. I had my usual herbal coffee and banana for breakfast. I am planning on having something for lunch & dinner too. & possibly a workout session at home - I still have a DVD to try - before I return it to the library.

I have a good errand to run today - i m so looking forward to it.

I 'll update later

I really don't want to/can't go into details.
You don't have to. Just try and keep your chin up and I hope things work out as best they can.

Anyway congrats on the 4.5 pounds lost for the week. That's some very good work.

Hey Justina ,
Great work on your 4.5lbs lost this week, and 14lbs. lost so far...U are catching up to me gal ! eeek...better get my own butt in gear ..

Hope your "turmoil stuff" turns out ok - life is just a roller-coaster full of suprise sometimes... but glad to hear yu did try to get some sensible eats in , and that you are thinking positive ...

Thanks for sharing the university course website - FREE anything is so awesome... I take a fair amount of cont.ed.courses for my pharmacy work - but most of those are $$ ...so I am looking forward to see what's avail no-charge on this site - I hope you enjoy the PHysiology course... I took it many years ago , our human body & how it functions is totally amazing.... how one organ can "tell" the other organ what needs to happen.. ... it's complex - but so interesting to learn about...

thankyou for the link to the GreekSalad recipe ....the same page also had a yummy looking grated - courgette/zucchini salad - am planning to try that one out too..... any way I can get more veggies in my day - the better !

Keep up your great work - your Energy & enthusiasm are such an inspiration Justina.

cheers, Maryann

Thanks Maryann - you are so sweet! No problem about the course website - I m glad you find it useful.
as for the recipe site- I love bbcgoodfood - I use about 20 recipes from there on a regular basis - they are fast, low in calories and yum! :)
You gotta let me know how your courgette recipe turns out!

Again, I can't thank you enough for your support!
:grouphug:

Today I didn't quite have the day I was after - I did not eat much...again :blush5:
I was not hungry...i eat so little. I never thought that i will complain about this.
However I had some nutritious food today - just not enough.
B: Banana + herbal coffee
S:Nothing
L: Vegan cookie + Veggie juice (carrot, ginger, beetroot & apple)
D: 8 slices of black forest ham
S: Kombucha drink
I know - this totally sucks!!! I improved on yesterday at least - sort of.
Tomorrow I ll try to have more...it is such a struggle.. I m mad
Guess what? - I even exercised - i went to the track - actually it was a good thing - to go out a bit - it was sunny and mild - so i walked an hour.

Never wanted Monday to come so badly as I want it now... hopefully things get back to normal...

Good job on the exercise even when things are a bit stressful!
Haha, I certainly hope I look a bit more... orthodox than Phoebe!

LOL - I m sure you do! But it was a funny image :D

OK..SO it's official my body is in starvation mode...even though i ate like less than 500 kcal yesterday I put on weight according to the scale. (still lower than my weigh in on Friday though - which is good)
So today I ate properly.
B: I had toast for breakfast with ham and cream cheese.
S: I had a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice (made of 4 oranges)
L: I made myself a Greek pasta salad for lunch.
D: Baby cake (flax-meal) I love this recipe & recommend it to anyone! I made it 4 times already in the last month. It' usually my husband who eats most of it though.
It's Lucy's (luzdafuzz)
+ Herbal tea, water

And I made it to the gym!! I did 50 min elliptical & 10 min bike. I feel good about it!
I had tons of housework to do - so more exercise. I kept myself pretty busy today. I just wanted to get Sunday out of the way.
Bring on tomorrow. I hope it brings some good news...fingers crossed.

What a tiring day...but I think we achieved something.
Well, I hope that what happened last week - even though it was very very stressful and emotional - can actually be a stepping stone to the right direction for us. That's how things look right now. I have my fingers crossed and praying that this remains the case.

Food was not good today. All I had so far is 3/4 of a baby cake in the morning (about 240 kcal)
I was caught up today - and eating totally slipped my mind.
So it sucks...I am a bit hungry. I am planning on having a fresh veggie juice for dinner. This is to give the nutrition my body needs.
I am also thinking about eating something small.
It is a struggle to get back to my normal eating plan. Emotions can totally affect your diet! Things are settling down though - so hopefully by the end of this week I ll be eating properly again.

Oh yeah - forgot to mention: planning on having a glass of champagne today - I have my husband back tonight! Bliss.
Hopefully will help me sleep better - I didnt sleep much in the past few days..I needed help from "star wars" to put me to sleep.

Exercise...erm...not much to report - walked an hour today - that's it. I probably do a bit more of walking.

I hope things are coming right for you Justina, you sound a bit more hopeful.

After having such low cal days, the danger for me would be binging, so watch out for that.

Good luck for a good sleep, and yay that hubby will be home! I hate it when mine is away.

Hi Justina, sorry to hear about the rough patches lady but at the end of the day they are temporary and things always get better and easier with EVERYTHING. Me and you seem to be at the same level right about now with the lack of eating. Myself as well I am struggling with not eating enough and probably that is one thing we need to change, just like overeating is bad under eating is as equally damaging to our bodies. We gotta pick up our game girl or those weddings will have two sausages as guests :) haha! My problem still is I haven't worked out yet so I give you SO much credit for getting of your butt and actually MOVING! YAY for u :)

Hope the stress levels come down soon. I know that struggle. I had it while trying to get back on track after christmas when I discovered my horse had fractured it's leg. But I know you can get back on track!

Hey Justina, glad to see you are slowly slowly getting your spirits back up again. You just need to step it up on the eating. Last week I had about 3 days that I ate very little and I picked up 300gram. So you body will definitely hold on to the little food you consume.

At least you getting your hour exercise - High 5 on that!!

Hi
Thanks for welcoming me back to the diary!
Keep fighting! 2 steps forward and one step back is still progress.

Hey you, thanks for stopping by! I love to see my wedding-guest-weight-loss buddy around here! Damn right we need to eat more, lol! Hope your gym opens again soon!!! or try get some DVDs/go for walkies!! It makes a huge difference when you start moving!! (at least for me).

Hope the stress levels come down soon. I know that struggle. I had it while trying to get back on track after christmas when I discovered my horse had fractured it's leg. But I know you can get back on track!

Hey sweetie, thanks for your support. Stress levels lowered! Defo. I feel a lot more relaxed. & least i didn t go the opposite way (overeating) - but my appetite is back now.

Hey Mands, thanks for your support. I know weight fluctuates when you go super low on calories...I dropped like 4 lbs in 2 days...but i put back 2 on (even with only 500 kcal a day)- so overall I am still down though.

Hi
Thanks for welcoming me back to the diary!
Keep fighting! 2 steps forward and one step back is still progress.

Hey - thanks for stopping by!!

Oh my gosh - i feel like 100% better. Life is good again. I have high hopes now for spring.
I can eat properly again!!! Yay!
I had a super busy day - errands after errands.
My husband got today off - so we did them together & decided to eat out after a crappy weekend.
we went to a Japanese restaurant. I used to looove sushi - but almost all of them have avocado & i m allergic :( I love it though, but hey.
So i had some of their warm food. It was a buffet. Now buffet is not exactly a dieter's dream scenario - lol. I could easily go crazy with that...All you can eat...sometimes i can take it quite literally
I am really proud - I only had ONE plate of food - mainly meat & very little rice & veggies!! I didnt have any dessert! Go me, right? :D
All right food today:
B: Banana
S: Starbucks frappucino light (small)
L: Japanese buffet (one plate only!)
S:Blueberries
D: anchovies

E: Tons of walking!

Great job at the buffet! Those are dangerous to me. Even if I think I'm doing well, I end up eating too much of it.
by the way, do you like raw fish? If so, just order sashimi... no rice. That, tofu soup, and pickled veggies are good in Japanese restaurants.
