Justina: Back to square one - very excited & determined to do this right

Hey Justina! Wow, lots has happened in the last year or two! Huge changes! I'm glad you've decided to knuckle down and give weight loss another shot - yob did so well before...you know you CAN do it...just got to be motivated enough (I am writing this sitting in bed hungry determined not to go downstairs and get something to eat!!!)

I think it sounds like you got to put some thought into what kind of exercise and where and when will suit you. I mean, to be honest, you could do it at home -squats, press ups, can of beans as weights etc... Or great DVDs nowadays... I suppose I'm trying to say, if you put your mind to it, you'll find a way. My downfall has been finding reasons for myself not to do things - like its a bit too dark to go out for that run!!

Anyhows good luck, keep at it and the results will come and remember just how supportive the guys here are!

Haha! Your post made me giggle!!! I sometimes do the same: eating pizza & telling everyone how fresh vegetable juice is good for you...
I defo put my mind to it this time....I am nearly at my highest weight ever. not good. I need action before it's too late.

Great job on the bellydancing!

Sounds like fun! :)

Thanks Jen - it is totally fun!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, i have decided to make today weigh in day. I had to do the weighing for the WL challenge - so here we go

I am 271 lbs! Which 2 lbs lighter than a few days ago when I started this!!!! YAY

I did SOME bellydancing yesterday....it was so hard (for me that is)..it's not really a dvd to learn belly dancing - well sort of - but it focuses more on fitness & fat burning...so it was not a walk in the park just yet. I did about 30 mins. I was gonna do more, but the dvd froze....ugh! So it took me some time to restart it & I was running out of time.

We did our food shopping today. & I had a fresh wheat grass shot at the grocery store - so grosssssss!!! it's meant to be really healthy...but i still feel like I am going to be sick...

Other than that i had my usual toast for breakfast with latte

Food plans for the rest of the day:
Lunch: Oven baked falafel with tons of salad in whole wheat pitta bread & home made tzatziki
Snack: defrosted blackberries & mandarin
Dinner: Detox part 1: grapefruit juice & with a mix of all kind of plant bases stuff (pumpkin seed etc)
LOADS OF WATER

Excercize: planning on doing some weights...my husband doesnt start working till the evening, so he can help me develop some routine (he knows this stuff). We cant go out - as we are waiting UPS. he is starting a college course on Monday - needs to read the material this weekend.

Have a lovely day all of you & GO TEAM GOLD!!!!!! We so gonna nail this :smash:

Very awesome on the quick drop.

As for the wheat grass stuff, I just couldn't do that sort of thing. I figure: cows eat grass, I eat cows, so I get all the benefits second hand anyway, no need to go straight to the source. :D

You've got the attitude and plan! Gold team is literally going to work their butts off. I'm excited for all of us!

Congratulations on the weigh loss too!

As far as wheat grass shots, I'm with you and V GROSS!

woowooowoo 2lbs - good going! Honestly, its like rolling down hill...once you start losing weight, you start feeling good about losing weight so you don't want to cheat on the diet and you do want to do exercise and it just all gathers speed....(in terms of motivation and feelign good...even though you might get to a few plateaus with lb loss now and again - but IT'S A LONG TERM GAME honey.)

Thanks MrVee! & I think I will leave the grass to cows from now on...LOL...

Thanks Quercus!! I am excited too - I think we gonna do great! :)

Congrats on the loss!!!!! yay!! :)

I'm with everyone else on the wheat grass shot! gross! lol!

Thanks Jen!

Hey Justina, sounds like you are off to a great start. I'd rather eat some spinach or salad, than drink it. Eek

Thanks Anna, I m totally sticking to salad and spinach after this :D

Thanks! Long term game indeed...I would hate to start from square again. I have support from my husband as far as eating well goes, but he is not really good with excercizing - i gonna have to motivate him!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had a great day yesterday! I started my detox...fasting - this is something i used to do 3-4 times every year when I lived in Europe. So i am happy to restart this. It really makes me feel good.
I also did excercizing. I found some body sculpting videos (with dumbbells) on youtube yesterday. & did about 30 mins of excercize! I even got my husband to do some with me!! :) bless him
Then i did some situps & squats.
I finished my excercize routine with half an hour walking. So not bad :)

Today here its very rainy - thunderstorms all around...so most likely wont go out much...
I probably do some more body sculpting today...uff - or maybe gym - depends how the weather is...

As far as fooding goes:
I had 2 glasses of grapefruit juice for breakfast (with the herbs for detox) & plenty of water

Lunch: I am making taboullah - love it!! (parsley, tomato, onion, bulghur, mint (oops we dont have any at home.. gotta go shopping for it) & olive oil/lemon dressing

Snack : fruit (blackberries, banana, mandarin), walnuts & teas

Dinner - It's juice night!!! We are having: beetroot, carrot, apple, cucumber, ginger, kale, celery, lemon & orange + a tbsp of coconut oil - yummy!!

Have a great day everyone!! :D

Ah, tabbouleh! Not only a great meal but also a great song! From the very funny Remy Munasifi:

OMG your food sounds delicious! Congrats on the loss:party::party::party: The challenge is also motivating me. I'm not usually as into them as I am this time--I think all the participants are a great bunch. All the best Justina!

Thanks, Xenon! I love preparing food, trying new things...creating healthy meals - and the main achievement is that they actually taste yummy - amazing how creativity can make the food (that is perceived normally as boring/tasteless) taste great. Oh and it's filling too. :)

Yep all teams and their members seem to be really committed at this point!

-------------------------------------------------------------

I had an amazing weekend diet wise... I was totally satisfied with the food, and did not have massive cravings.
I don't normally eat junk/overly processed food anyway.
I did my fasting (24hr detox) though & while i was sipping my green vegetable juice I was looking up some recipes online, and drooling :drool5: all over the cinnamon rolls/other yummies. It's our first wedding anniversary on January 20th - so I might make some treat. I have found some great websites (thanks Lucy :) ) with recipes for baking with alternative ingredients that are not only healthier, more nutritious, but also lower in calories/fat content. E.g. a cinnamon roll - that's 120 calories. We shall see.

Today is not my weigh in day - but i had to have a look :D I lost 5 lbs since Friday. This is totally awesome! I now it wont be like this - one month in, and it's only the dieter's first week joy - LOL! Nevertheless I m jumping for joy!!!

Today I am back to my normal healthy eating plan:
B: Ezekiel bread toasted (they use sprouted grains instead of flour) with peanut butter (that has no sugar or other ingredients other than peanut) & banana & herbal coffe (vanilla nut flavour)
L: Veggie wrap - i saw this at a restaurant & i love it so much so i recreated it: wholewheat tortilla wrap *warmed up* - with homemade hummus & veggies (shredded carrot, spinach, onion, celery, cucumber, tomato)
S: Walnuts, mandarin, defrosted peach
D: Fresh vegetable juice (carrot, cucumber, beetroot, celery, kale, ginger, apple, mandarin, lemon) - My husbands adds broccoli to his...bless him.
Drinking: WATER & Lapacho tea

Exercize: 60 min workout in the gym - i need to make this more intensive than yesterday - since i am back to my normal eating plan - I wanna keep the lbs off!!!

So off I go!!! Hope you all have had a great weekend! xoxo

ps/ sorry guys about my English -it's all over the place. I lived in the UK for 8 years and now I am in the US - so my spelling is very inconsistent.

5 pounds! YAY! You're doing awesome and your food looks great! You should definitely make a treat for your anniversary. :)

You're sounding really motivated and on track. Thanks for stopping by my page. Will keep checking in.
I also am a belly dancer and just love how it makes me feel. Been doing it for nearly 4 years and co teaching for about 1 year. Can't say it's ever helped my weight but it has kept me fit to a degree

Hehe belly dancing... I don't even have the coordination for normal dancing!! I'm so jealous of people that can do that and make it look how it's supposed to.

Seriously- try the cinnamon rolls! I'm making them again today for my husband to take to work. I haven't tried the frosting she has on there (he's not a fan of icing and likes them plain!) but he LOVES them! Without the frosting if you get 8 out of the recipe it's like 107cals per roll according to fitday when I punch in my ingredients. I really love them too, really strange way to make dough but it works so well! They're big and puffy and chewy, just how they should be!

I think I must've missed something as everyone seems to be doing a challenge? I must've missed out!

Wow, you are teaching!! That's so cool! I wish I was that advanced. Well, in the past I nearly ever did it as my only source of exercise, I usually did it after a body sculpting class etc. Now, my fitness level is so low (compared to before), that my body recognized it as great exercise. The DVD I am using focuses on fitness, fat burning. I break out in sweat after 10 mins, lol!

Well, I am not exactly a pretty sight right now bellydancing - lol - but i m hoping to improve on that!! :) i have belly-dancing belt, but it's not with me here (it's in Spain). But for now i m doing it for fitness/weight-loss, and fun is secondary - when i get better I like to do an egyptian make up & it goes well with the dance/music!
Cinnamon rolls - I am making them!!! I ordered the ingredients on amazon!! I hope they arrive in time! I am not keen on frosting either, but my husband is..lol...so i think i ll make it for him! can i freeze the rolls? (what we dont eat)
There is a 10 week weight loss challenge - it's first week - you might still be able to join - ask Korrie.

Trusylver, Tasha, Jen
- thanks so much for the support guys!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello, hello, hello! I feel great! I haven't been on this diet for a week yet - but i already lost 7 lbs, now I am at 266 (SW: 273, CW:266 MiniGW: 230, GW:180).
It is brilliant. For the competition it's only 5lbs though - so far - since it started on Firday. If only it was so easy & fast for the rest of my weight-loss....
I m fully expecting it to stall anytime now...

My food plan for today:
B: Ezekiel bread - 2 pieces of toast with blueberry jam + Herbal coffee latte
S: Banana + raw cacao nibs
L: Moroccan aubergine & chickpea salad
s: Some fruit
D: Sweet potato & feta salad

Exercize - haven't a clue - i'll think of something. I have to do an hour. Gym..probably..yeah i'll do that.

Happy Monday everyone!!

Outstanding work on the 7 pounds. Don't worry about the stalling or even the scale so much. Just stick with the plan and the weight will come. When you lose weight this quickly, it sometimes slows down for a few days while your body adjusts (I've got fours months of my own weight data that demonstrates this well). Just keep at it and it will start down again.
