Just over 50 pounds gone. Not there yet.

Very nice job dude.
Im about im about to start and my body type is simlar to yours.
Im 16 years old and weigh ~170 pounds.
I really want to loose a lot of weight and get skinny and in shape.

so may i ask
what did you do to loose all the weight?
obviously eat right and work out, but what else, in detail please, thanks

And the way I have lost so much weight... Well, it probably hasn't been the best way, but it worked for me.

Nice work, you've lost a lot of weight and you're really thin now. What a difference from that first picture of you.

I guess I have to be the "lame old guy" on this thread, hahaha, and say that you should really consider changing your eating habits because what you're doing is not heathly. You know, you can eat more nutritious foods and still maintain your current weight of 140.

You may not care about that at this age, but it should be looked into. Congrats again.

Oh no, I appreciate it. I understand that I'm not really eating the best food haha. I have been eating more actual food stuff lately, so yeah. Now that i'm at a decent weight, I can actually eat a good amount, just not a lot of unhealthy stuff. :p

Hey Thatguy, just wanted to add my congrats - fantastic weight loss and you do look really cool now.

Like Silver I'd like to know what kinds of cereal you ate, I suppose it must've been something high in fibre (to keep you full) and, did you use skim milk or regular (2%)?

Also, you said you ate one either meal (besides your cereal), so did you only eat 3 'big' meals per day? And did you do any strength training?

Oh and well done, I read your first post back in September 2009, you've come a long way...bet it feels good reading those old posts and knowing how much you've accomplished

Well...Lately I've just been sick of hating myself.

So here I am.

I've been big most of my life. Probably since I was 8. Here I am, 18, still probably about 220 lbs and about 6" tall. I'm not comfortable with myself, and every day is terrible. Just a simple thing like sitting there in my class, I feel uncomfortable. I feel ugly. My body and my mind have been completely drained at times, just from the stress of...living. Does anyone remember feeling that way? So uncomfortable in your own skin, it's tough just to be anywhere near people?

Well... I don't want to feel that way anymore. So I've decided to change.

I've been eating a lot better for the past 7 weeks. Probably still not very healthy, but a nice improvement for me.

So I have some questions...

If I had a little bowl of cereal in the morning, a bag of sunchips and a little gatorade for lunch, and a salad for dinner, is that good?
Is it too much?

If I were to eat like that most of the time, would that be a decent way of eating for me? I'm totally comfortable with it. I get pretty hungry sometimes before lunch, but the chips usually satisfy me until dinner.

And as for exercise...I'm not an active person. I'm wondering if anyone knows of some simple stuff I could do just to get started.

And for my biggest issue, something that's probably been the biggest issue for me for as long as I can remember...
I've kinda got man boobs....
It's weird, even most people who are bigger than me don't have it like I do. Most guys have flatter chests, no matter how fat they may be. But for me, mine seem to point out more than they should, and it makes me feel like complete sh*t. Sorry for the language, that's just the only way for me to describe it.

I don't even like wearing t-shirts alone, I prefer to wear layers, or a hoodie of some sort. And considering I live at the south end of Texas, that's definitely not practical. It's always blazing hot here. So yeah, I get teased for wearing a jacket so much. But to me, that's better than people seeing me without one.

So I definitely want to know if weight loss should help me with that. Or if there are any specific exercises that can help me to tone my chest. I've been occasionally trying to do pushups. Though I can't do much yet.
That's really all I know as far as toning the chest goes, and I don't even think it's done much.

For me to REALLY lose weight, I only ate 3 times a day.

On weekdays at school:
-Cereal for breakfast
-Bag of chips and a water for lunch
-Cereal for dinner

On weekends:
-Cereal for breakfast
-Cereal for lunch
-Cereal for dinner

Haha, a few days of the week I would eat whatever for dinner, but that was pretty much my diet for a few months. It's probably not healthy, and a lot of people would hate to do that, but it worked well for me.

Now that i'm not trying to really lose weight, I eat:

-Cereal for breakfast
-Anything for lunch like a sandwich, pasta, sometimes even pizza. Whatever's being served.
-Cereal for dinner. Or if I eat at a restaurant, I try to just not eat everything in sight.

Pretty random diet.
When it comes to cereal, my favorite is Special K with the strawberries in it. It's just my favorite flavor.
Most cereal is pretty good though. As long as it's like 0-2 grams of fat per serving, around 120 calories per serving, and less than 15 g of sugar in each serving, i'll eat it.

And I use 2% milk.

What a crazy diet! :willy_nilly: I don't know how you stuck with that for months. By the way, be careful what you say around here, because your diet is encouraging others to take the same dangerous path.

But I tried every diet in high school, so I guess I understand why you did it.

At least try to eat some protein! You're going to lose any remaining muscle if you don't. You like Special K, right? Switch to the protein enriched Special K then. It tastes the same.

...This may be kinda pointless, but it's been a little over a year now, and I've managed to keep the weight off. So that's been awesome :)
Update pictures, why not?

I still feel like I have... flab? Like if I sit down without a shirt, it's pretty bad looking. So many rolls of skin and flab. If a normal thin person sits, they don't have it, or at least not half as bad as I do. So I still feel bad about that... But i'm not sure how to fix it.

You look great! And it definitely doesn't look like you have flab to me, you look super thin. :D

Congrats on your amazing success.

Yeah i wouldnt consider it that either, if you want to try something try doing some crunches to build up abs in there, all you really have to do is tone it out if youre going for more of 6 pack look either way you look great
