if you have a chance, i'd like to hear about "every reputable thing" or frankly "
any reputable thing" that has made you think fasting does any harm. there is an
intermittent fasting club string where i try to present fact-based information. there is so much misinformation making the rounds these days, i realize it might be hard to believe anything you hear. i try to defeat "i heard it somewhere" opinions and it is usually simple if you do the research and don't merely trust the last person you heard.
you also have to be particularly vigilant with judging what even appears to be valid research by doctors. what on the surface might appear to be a comparative study can be flawed or biased and you will even find a few good examples of that recently posted there. simply from talking to my own GP, he has never expressed much interest in my own success he can plainly see.
the biggest opponents to any fasting diet are the mainstream diet conglomerates claiming their food or supplements will be the miracle you are looking for. fasting has a fatal flaw when it comes to being accepted by the billion dollar dieting industry... nobody can sell you anything since the basis of any fasting diet is simple caloric abstinence.
