Journey, Not A Destination

We haven't but I'm not keen on the idea of a franchise. My vision is the body-improvements logo and name on the front of my building doing things exactly the way I want with no ties.

I'm usually a Christmas person and this year I don't have any of the The Spirit at all. I'm not in a bad mood or anything... I'm just not into the holiday.

You know? I see WAY LESS decorations and hubbub this year--too many people are broke I guess. I am super stoked and excited about all the cool DJ shows and parties going on around here and the Bay, and also about seeing my family and long-time friends :cheers2: I get a 4 day weekend (like TG) and can hardly wait to hang out with my family. I guess holidays, for me, is all about my awesome family and not so much about buying things. Course, everybody gets WINE and burned CDs of cool music from me! :D That's all I can afford (uh, and it costs me nothing) but no one seems to think I'm cheap since everyone loves wine and music *shrugs*

I personally am excited about you and Gordy rising up and realizing some business ventures, even if it doesn't happen right away :)

Happy Tuesday! :waving:

hehe greatminds think a like..i was just writing how i feel like Christmas spirit is less present this year than usual.
i don't know if its the crisis..croatia has been in crisis for a long time lol
i'm also not a buying person. i prefer giving and receiving presents which mean somthing. one of my favorite presents ever was a tape of pakistani and turkish music with a made card where a friend of mine wrote me birthday wishes in svahili language and a story about me :)
the only thing i love to do is sending Christmas cards...it actually surprises people. lol people forgot the feeling of receiving letters and cards. all i get in my mailbox are usually bills and commercials. its so nice to get something personal for a change :)

We just finalized our Christmas letter last night. I alternate between a letter and cards...depends on what is going on and this year I decided we should update all the out of state peeps with what is going with the kids (six of them), our move and the expected little grandbaby...

I will address the envelopes tonight and mail them tomorrow.

Honestly, I am struggling with feelings of "Scrooginess" this year....*sigh* I'm trying my best to not be that way...but I'm already "over" all the shopping, wrapping, and holidaying. Isn't it January yet???

I've been MIA a lot lately. I'm insanely busy with a number of things but all is well. I'm usually a Christmas person and this year I don't have any of the The Spirit at all. I'm not in a bad mood or anything... I'm just not into the holiday.

Same here!! I'm dreading having to hang the lights already! lol

Hope the gym legalities work out for ya smoothly!

I do really enjoy that aspect of the holidays. That's the main reason I like it in fact. We stopped doing gift giving a long time ago. It's just silly. Spending time with family and friends and forgetting about work for a few days is what it's all about for me.

I actually took the week after Christmas off since Krista also has off then. We're going to spend the time finishing up the house.

I personally am excited about you and Gordy rising up and realizing some business ventures, even if it doesn't happen right away :)

Thanks Val!

One day at a time. Personally I'm content with Body-Improvements, lol. And it's not even open to the masses yet. We have clients. It keeps me busy. It allows me to vent my creative side of things. It's a good gig. Whatever is surmounts to I'll be happy with.

I'm with you Lena.

Frivolous spending on things people don't need for the simple sake of opening a present is just silly. I mean, I understand it with kids. I used to love receiving presents. All the toys, magic and excitement. You can't beat it.

But carrying that through to adulthood is just silly IMO.

However, if I had it my way, I'd be buying a puppy to put under the tree this year. We've decided it best to wait until summer time though; this way Krista is home since she's a teacher and can spend time with it.

Happy Holidays Lena.

Hiya Beth. :)

Oh that's great news--sounds like fun fun fun! :D

Perfect, glad to hear it--and who KNOWS what will happen.

Ugh, did you hear about this? Disgusting

It's more like commercialism. It's pushed on us before Halloween and it gets really stale for me. I stopped Xmas shopping about 10 years ago. I give the gift of retail therapy (i.e., cash) for my relatives because they like to go shopping on Boxing Day. I don't. I prefer to hibernate :D

As for the adults, my gift is Xmas dinner. Although I don't drink alcohol, I make sure I provide a few really good vintage wines for those who like to indulge and a nice port or after-dinner libation that I know somebody will appreciate and take home with them ;)

You know that shopping is a sort of obsession and disorder for many people. I myself have been privy to feeling bad, and going out and buying a new top and feeling better--good thing I caught myself and don't compulsive shop anymore--can't afford it!

a puppy??? how cute. i want one too :) i had a dog for 14 years almost...was devastated when he died 5 years ago. i still miss him. but i don't have the possibilities to own one now...which ever puppy you get is gonna love it at your place :D so many runnign and hiding opportunities lol

btw been meaning to ask you.
i tried finding something on the soft tissue work that i saw on your you tube channel but i didn't really find anything useful except that it is good for weight lifters. my question is how useful is that in general? what does it do?

i have a problem with my foot mainly because of the foot muscle. i have flat feet and when i walk a lot the left one starts cramping really bad and it became sensitive. i will have to wear the pads for it, but i was also told to walk on stones and larger pebbles to improve the muscle strength. since its raining and its cold for me to walk on the local beach lol i was wondering can this soft tissue work help? because it seems like it can. so i just wanted to check.

a big hug to you :D

Yea, it's definitely doggy heaven, the property. It's going to be a smelly dog b/c each kind I'm thinking of getting loves water. Creek water doesn't smell so good when it dries on a dog, lol.

We're considering a lab, golden retriever and a burmese mountain dog right now.

You should search for myofascial release. That's really what it is. How useful is it? Very.

Rather than getting into the details, have a look at this free ebook Mike Robertson put out this year regarding foam rolling. It's an excellent resource considering the cost (free) and he's a good guy.

Hard to say really. Have you been to an ortho or podiatrist? I don't know much about flat feet as I've never worked with a client who had it or complained about it.

Myofascial release can be considered a form of flexibility training and from what I know flat feet are caused by excessive flexibility of the ligaments and tendons that support a normal arch. That said, I'm not sure it's something that would help.

I know I have a friend who had the problem and he was prescribed orthotics that supposedly helped.

Workout was good yesterday:

Full Squats (light) - 225 x 4 x 5
Romanian Deads - 195 x 4 x 5
Bulgarian Split Squats - BW x 15, 10, 6 RP
Seated Calves - 70 x 3 x 15
Planks

Today is a rest day.

True, but in actuality, some dogs are naturally smelly and others, not so much, creek water or not. Labs and retrievers to me, don't smell that great :ack2: I think pitbulls are cooler, but that's because my dad used to have them and I grew up seeing them with friends a lot.

HAPPY HUMP DAY! :waving:
