Journey, Not A Destination

Fantastic, Steve! All of it!

I'd love to see pics of the house... it sounds wonderful.

And that's great about Jared's dad... it seems it was just what the man needed to start the healing process.

WOW--that's WONDERFUL you helped his dad out so much without even trying! Hey--BRAVO!!! :hurray: Congrats on moving in!

Thanks Val! Exciting times. This house sits in the center of a county park. There is a beautiful stream 20 yards from my house that my back yard butts up against, a cliff rising over the stream on my property, trails, fields, forests, etc. It's heavenly. I'll have to take some pictures when I get the chance.

Thanks so much. It's right up my alley. I was telling Krista as we lay in bed last night that the house doesn't feel like ours. Our room has 20 foot ceilings, a loft with exposed, 300 year old stone, cedar walls and rafters, etc. It feels like we're in a ski resort lodge or something which is a very nice feeling.

I'll get pictures up when I get the chance. I have no idea where my camera is at this point!

It will feel like yours soon enough. CONGRATS!! I hope you "broke in" your bedroom already :) Can't wait to see some pics.

OMG yes i need pics!!! i suppose you have spare places to house guests if we visit?
Personal training holidays!!! YAY!!

Haha, yup, plenty of space. It's not ginormous or anything... I think it was 2700 square feet but it's roomy. And it's not quite 300 years old... it was built in 1720.

Whah! You moved in before me! lol Congrats! :hurray: I currently have no bathroom there b/c they took out the toilet and sink in order to tile the floor..lol. I am praying they are finished by tomorrow so we can maybe move in this weekend.

That is incredibly sad about that boy that killed himself. I cannot believe how inhuman some people are. I really hope the police find the bastards who egged him on. It's sickening.

Happy Thanksgiving Steve :) and congrats on the move in. i can't wait to see the photos, because it just sounds wonderful :)

p.s. you really are changing people's lives :)

:)

Hey everyone... and Happy Thanksgiving.

Today was great. Tons of amazing food and good company. I work tomorrow half a day than some people are coming over to see the house. It's amazing how many people are stopping by. The first few tours were fun to give. Now it's getting old, lol.

Hopefully Krista and I will find some furniture we like this weekend. I'm looking forward to shopping for it actually.

Thanks for stopping in!

Hope your Thanksgiving with the family and friends was good, Steve.

Wish you the best this coming year.

Much respect and admiration to you, young man. :)

Best wishes

Chillen

Thanks guys.

So some not so good news:

A week or so back a friend of mine who I grew up with was shot and killed. The article is here:

The short of the story for those who don't feel like reading the article is:

-Scott owned a baber shop in Reading, which is a local city here.
-He and two of his barbers were finishing up the last few haircuts for the day.
-Two masked gunmen barged into the shop demanding everyone onto their knees and asking for money
-Scott carries a gun since he's in a bad part of the city.
-He made a poor choice to reach for it, which one of the men saw.
-The man shot Scott in the top of his head leaving him for dead.
-He was pronounced dead the next day.

He was a great guy. Really great. Always willing to help everyone and was a real community figure in the area. It's really sad. To boot, the family has had so many hardships. Years ago Scott's brother, who I also grew up with, was in a terrible car accident that left him completely dependent for the rest of his life. He's there mentally but has very poor motor function and can't speak to a level that most anyone can understand him.

Life has a crazy way of playing out at times.

I'm pretty sure Ryan went to Reading High School and now he lives within a few blocks of Reading High, and teaches at Wilson Middle. So yeah... small world:)
