Journey, Not A Destination

I could puke just thinking about a bacon flavored whey protein. I did see on the news yesterday in some major city... a guy was selling chocolate covered bacon. That sounds disgusting to me as well.

Quotes and Randomness

"What every man needs, regardless of his job or the kind of work he is doing, is a vision of what his place is and may be. He needs an objective and a purpose. He needs a feeling and a belief that he has some worthwhile thing to do. What this is no one can tell him. It must be his own creation. Its success will be measured by the nature of his vision, what he has done to equip himself, and how well he has performed along the line of its development."

"Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value."

"The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."

So it's Friday. That's always nice. I was just checking out the blog and we've had close to 300 hits. I'm happy about that.

Tonight I'm heading to Gord's to do work. I'm not sure if I'll spend the night there or not yet. Depends on how long we work I suppose. We've been in a pattern of filming on Fridays at his house and editing and uploading on Saturdays at my house.

It supposed to be shitty weather, which always make me more motivated to stay inside and do work.

I've been going back and forth with the mortgage company for the new house. I remember how easy the last house was to buy. It was seamless. This one however, is ridiculous. I suppose it has to do with the tighter lending nowadays but let me tell ya.... it's brutal. I'm getting nervous too b/c by contract our mortgage has to be wrapped up by the 30th. I sent an email to the processor this morning to add a little fire under her butt!

Hope all is well. :)

Vosges - a fancy chocolate company - has a bacon chocolate bar

It's not bad - but I like the wasabi chocolate and the chipotle chocolate better...

COuldn't be more true - in fact I was saying something very similar the other day...

"Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value."
Even more true... character is far more improtant than anything else..

i can't blame the banks for trying to put a tigher reign on the lending -they should have done it years ago... and maybe -ah well - shudda cudda wudda... :D Hope it gets sorted out...

Have a great weekend and hope it's productive -even if productivity involves sitting in a comfy chair listening to the rain, reading a book

Hey Stacy, been a while.

Sorry to hear about all this shit you're dealing with. How frustrating! I wish you the best of luck.

Oh, whatever happened to your forum you had going?

And your sig, that phrase reminds me of something I came up with a while back I was going to use on my site...

Dream it, want it, live it... which is actually my user title at the mo

It fizzled out and became very inactive.
I could not afford to advertise and get the link on search engine so that did the forum in..lol..

lol about our tags... ;)

A few years ago, my C-Mas gift was cash so I could redo the living room..
I picked out a country/inspiration type theme.

I have an old fashioned sign on the wall that says my tag line.

I have another that says, "It's A Wonderful Life."

I have the faux antique boxes that say, "Live Well - Laugh Often - Love Much

So, I have things like that all over the living room and front entrance area.

I think that would be a very rewarding job.

Things are going well. We're slated to move in 11/21 or 11/22... thanks for asking!

Wow, your internet was out that long from a tree?

Absolutely not.

:p

I think I'm going to be so sick of people being in my house by the time this move is over that I would end up eating someone for my thanksgiving feast.

I ate McDonalds the other day. First time in such a long, long time. I know you don't like that shit. I found it amazingly appetizing. It is not something I could eat regularly at all. But it's was a nice treat.

It's interesting how people reference eating AT fast food places like Europeans reference certain things without the unnecessary propositions, for example, "I studied at University" or "I went to hospital" etc. What did you eat at MickyD's? You certainly did not EAT the store, although you just mentioned you might EAT someone for TG....;) just curious.....

I know jack shit about this process for I am ignorant and uneducated in that sphere or life. BUT I wish you the best outcome! :)

Steve, since you dont seam to quite have enough on your plate right now I thought I would bounce one more thing off of you. Kind of a neglected market I have noticed on fitness boards and in real life. A lot of people have to take physical exams for their jobs. I have noticed despite knowing what bench marks they will be expected to achieve most of these people have no idea what they are capable of now and what steps they need to take to be able to achieve the level expected of them. I witnessed this first hand yesterday.

I had to do a "stand by" at a local track yesterday for the US Forestry Service to administer their PT. The exam consisted of a 2.5m walk in <45 minutes. The one catch was a weight vest. I'm not sure what it weighed but my partner said 40lb. Anyway, of the 4 guys doing it. 2 guys made it fairly easily (40 minutes or so) the third guy was beat after about 1m but an instructor came out to pace him the last 5 laps or so which got him there with about 45 seconds to spare. He was no more than 25 and LOOKED healthy enough. The really sad part was this big guy (6"4 250ish) He took a bench at about 1 mile, then got up then took a bench at about 1.5 and didnt get up. At first I felt bad for the guy but then I just kinda felt disgusted. In rural Alabama a federal gov. job is like hitting the damn lottery. I myself have submitted my resume to the forestry service a few times and never got a sniff. It just kinda pissed me off that a seemingly healthy (from appearances) guy in his mid 20s to 30s would let something like that go because he was unprepared for what seemed to me to be a fairly simple task. I don't mean to be a keyboard warrior but I hike up mountains with 40lb packs on. I was even able to do this 2 years ago when I was over weight and that was the only exercise I got. All he had to do was walk a couple of 18 minute miles in 75 degree fall weather on a flat track.

 It just seems to me like people that have these exams could use a little help getting prepared.

2.5 miles in 45 min or less?? I'm 40lbs overweight, 36 and pregnant and I could do that easily. I walked 3 miles in 50 min on Monday.

It's a funny thing. I've been hanging around this forum so long and met a number of people I've become close with. Charging these few would simply not feel right to me.

So does this mean once I have my baby you'll whip me into shape for free? Or will you just whip me? :reddevil:

In this case McDonald's is an adjective to describe the type of food I ate. I had McDonald's double cheese burger and fries. :)
