Yup, it's been a stressful month to say the least. However, the agreements are all signed so now it's just a matter of the home passing certain inspections. It should be a relatively smooth ride from here on out.
Thanks man.
Gas doens't matter much when you don't drive a whole heck of a lot. In addition, the rebates they're giving on full size pick ups far outweigh the increase in the cost of gas.
When they're giving 15-20k off the trucks, gas doesn't really matter, lol.
The Tundra's are real nice. I actually like the looks of the Dodge Ram better though. The Quad Cab at least. In addition, Tundras are way over-priced. I agree, beautiful truck. Just not shelling out that sort of money right now. I'm looking to cut my monthly payments since my bills are going to sky rocket once I get this house.
So yesterday I actually did go out and buy a new truck. It was very, very hard to let go of my car. Shit, I could've shed a tear... I loved that thing.
But the truck is very nice. I'm more than impressed. It's the Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab Big Horn with the 5.7 L hemi engine. It's got some balls. Plus it's practical as all hell relative to that sports car I had.
congrats on your new vehicle...

Haha - hot damn I bet that thing sounds nice!
You need to post some pics of the house and truck!
Yeah, the money you save up front and in monthly payments from the discounts on trucks right now can more than make up for the gas price.
I'm assuming you traded in the Nissan to help shave off the price of the truck. Not a bad move, I'm sure.
The tundra I configued was $21,000. That was with the top of the line engine(v8,386hp,400Torque, if i remember right). Of course, It was single cab. But seeing as how you are married and have a new house you will likely need the extra cab soon enough.![]()
What model year is the truck?
It has some grumble to it, that's for sure. I like the sound though I'll miss the sound of the Z. That thing sounded bad ass. But this is totally different, apples to organges.
I posted some pics of the house a while back. If you go out to the diaries section and find mine, there should be a paperclip icon next to my thread title. If you click on that, you'll see all the pics I've posted in this thread. The house photos are in there.
Without a doubt. I doubt I'll be stacking on the miles anyhow. The new house is about 15 miles round trip. The Z I only put on 16000 miles and I had that for 3 years.
It helps that I also have my jeep wrangler. Old but gets the job done.
I didn't make out too well actually on the trade in... but I had to get rid of it. I still owed a good chunk of change on it and pretty much paid off what I owed and put a few thousand down on the truck.
Yea, I was in the market for a four door. They're much more pricey. And I think you'd be surprised by how 'cheap' the baseline models look. If you go to the lot, the trucks that actually look nice are pricey as all hell.
The sticker price on my truck was 38k.
I paid nowhere near that though.
It's an 08.
The 2009s come out soon and I don't really like them, so I wasn't about to wait.
I have never really seen the inside of a any expensive car/truck, in person, to be honest.
So the tundras "cheap" looking interior would likely look very high class to me. lol
What kind of audio system came on your truck,
and what color is it?
You know, from what I've seen of the 09's I really like.
I still need a car. If were able to get a new car it would likely be a Honda Civic or a Honda fit.
I love the scion Tc but the mpg's ain't all that great. And I will likely be driving quite a bit so its very important to me.
You know, you could have always gone with a van. Yeah, get a little fanny pack and start jogging the down the street with little pink wrist weights and a headband...Yup, I can totally see you that way...lol
I used to be all impressed by the interiors of nice cars. Now it's more about the performance to me. This Dodge's interior looks cheap compared to the Z's interior. The Z was decked out inside. But now it's all about practicality.
I don't think the Tundra's have a cheap interior. At least not the one I was looking at. The thing I love about the new Tundras is that the rear window goes all the way down. At least on the expensive models. They're nice trucks.
Nothing fancy. That was something I was a little upset about. The Z came with a Bose system with 7 speakers, which is a lot for a little two seater. It also had a sub woofer standard.
This is your typical truck, nothing fancy inside.
I went with silver.
Yea, they have some fancy stuff. They're a bit too fancy for my liking when it comes to trucks. They come standard with dual exhaust which is nice. They have some features I haven't seen on a truck yet, like the side trunks and whatnot. I just like the looks of the 08s better personally. To boot, the 09s I'm sure will be costly to deck them out.
Something 4 cylinder with a stick, nice and small. You should be able to find a civic for a decent price, depending what you're planning on spending.
That's a negative, lol.
Ohhh, so chicks dig guys in trucks, huh?
