Journey, Not A Destination

Hey, it's not my job to help stupid people.

Survival of the fittest.

Welcome to the jungle..... time to fatten my wallet.

:p

if you build it - they will come...

and if you have the appropriate marketing...

well then...

the weight loss industry is like the beauty industry - preys on people's perceptions of themselves... it's fascinating and discouraging at he same time...

Compassion and sincerity are overrated... and the internet is no place for them :)

Money Money Money Money :)

that's what the internet is for :D

And on a serious note.... I will never sell out Jimbo.

Never ever ever.

Oh Bah - the good steve is back...

No wait -that's a good thing :)

but the good steve will never give me the flexing avatar that I crave... the bad steve - could have been bought :) and would have flexed for a fee :D

I was willing to pay per flex :)

I'm a simpleton.. I mean simple girl - it's the little things that make me happy.. though in your case those flexing biceps aren't so little - and a flexing gluteus maximus - well - :D

Ah well -

in my dreams :D

Brother, your recording At San Quentin has already happened... It is only a matter of time before you show up on MTV with a band that calls themself punk 'cause their drummer has a fake mohawk, or grunge 'cause they don't wash their hair.

If you do sell out, I reserve the right to punch you in "el gonads", as the french would say. Keep the faith.

Haha, if you don't know by now that I'm not one of 'them' then.....

listen to what I have to sell you.

Hola everyone...

Things have been extremely busy around here. Work is driving me into the ground but I'm in high spirits. This weekend Gordy and I are slated to finish the last bit of content for our site. Things that are holding us up right now:

1) Should we get into great detail on the exercise page. I tend to think not. They are just too broad of topics and I doubt anyone would want to read all that I'd want to say if we were going to go into detail. I was thinking the exercise page would be better if it had a video of the month posted at the top or something, an exercise tid bit of the week or something, a Q&A of the month, and a very general blurb about the benefits associated with the basic forms of exercise. Everything would be updated almost monthly except for that last general blurb. There would also be a link to the exercise video demonstration page.

2. Same deal with the nutrition page. This can get even more nitty gritty and I don't think that's what should be done. Something like a recipe of the month maybe, fact of the month, and very general blurb about what important factors are a must for a successful diet plan. Nothing more.

3. If that's the route we take, of course we'd put a blurb about, 'for more serious inquiries and discussions, please visit out forum.'

4. We're having a hell of a time picking a logo for our site. Gord came up with the idea of using the Vitruvian Man. He wanted to work that health symbol into it and put wings on the Vitruvian man. Seemed far out to me but wouldn't you know he did some searching and that has already been drawn. We thought about using the image but a) it's a little sloppy and b) the rights to it are ridiculously expensive, and the rights only last 5 years or so.

Neither of us are real artsy so this weekend we are meeting with a tattooist and showing him the picture mentioned above and telling him a bit about us and hopefully he can come up with a cool idea. If not.... we're back to square one.

For those interested, here is the picture from above:

I'm wondering if the tattooist can do something similar will we get sued?

5. We actually decided to go the route of designing the website ourselves. We were working with a designer/developer and it was just too much of a pain in the ass. So I decided to sign up to the homestead platform, which is an application that allows you to design websites without knowing all the code and language. This way Gord and I can build/tweak on the fly and we know exactly how to update and make changes without having to learn anything crazy or go through an intermediary to make basic changes on the site. It actually is turning out really well. I have a contact at homestead who told me it's one of the best one's he has seen in his time there that's created by ametuers.... he could very well be blowing smoke up my ass... but we'll see. I think we are going to design as much of it as we can then hand it over to a homestead designer and have him clean up and make the finishing touches.

Busy, busy, busy.

As always, up for any suggestions, thoughts or comments.

Hope everyone is well.

Oh yea, I've also decided to obtain some more certifications. I just ordered my NASM material. The only reason I like the NASM is that it's strong where I feel my current cert is weak. Though I don't think I'll learn anything spectacular.... it's more for show. There are actually 2 certifications I'm interested in from NASM.

After that, I think I'm going to shoot for my CSCS from NSCA sometime later this year if everything goes as planned.

Its good to see all is well steve. Im sure the tatooist can come up with something different!

I dont think you can get sued if its different but im sure you will check into it....I have noticed your business with your abscence from the forums! But everyone needs break and other things are way more important.

Thanks for filling us in man and best of luck to your site building.

Trevor

You should have like an anatomy section in the forum. :)

Haha - I love answering questions about human anatomy and how things function in that regard. After all, how the body functions is very important. How can you "Fix" your body if you don't understand?

We could talk about metabolic pathways including ATP resynthesis? Or how sodium and potassium ions travel down axons through RDR! Maybe have something on the immune system? I love the immune system!

To be honest, I do not like that picture.
