Journey, Not A Destination

LOL, be my guest.

You'd see me in rare form though.

And that isn't a good way to make a first impression!

I certainly will, thanks!

My parents are having a huge luau at their house in celebration of my wedding.

Lot's of alcohol and great food. Volleyball, yard games, good people and good times.

Can't wait. :)

Wow I wish I were closer, instead we are taking a trailer load full of stuff to CO. I really have to fight over eating while travling!! Wish I was having your weekend instead!! Enjoy it for me!:D

Putting my request in for a picture -and I'm playing photo stylist..

after several polynesian cocktails, you know those frou frou drinks with umbrellas in them.

put the umbrella behind your right ear.. (not in your ear, that woudl hurt)

Don a coconut bra
grass skirt
(undergarments optional)
and do the hula :)

I'd be ever so appreciative :)

LOL!

We'll see.

I already picked my outfit out. It's not provocative though.

Should be an interesting party.

Some of the fam is conservative.... the out of towners.

The locals like to have a great time.

I'm going to get drunk. I don't do that often, but I'm in the mood. Who knows what will happen. :)

man this sounds good :D i wanna get drunk too lol

you have fun steve my friend :)

p.s. mal that photo would be really really perfect :)

Thanks Lena! I plan on having a blast.

Unfortunately, it looks like rain at the moment. The party isn't until 4.... so we'll see.

Hi, Steve. Have a blast tonight! And don't get too drunk!

I might take today and even tomorrow off myself. I'm cramping up like crazy, and my legs feel like two blocks of concrete.

I hope everyone had excellent weekends! My luau was a blast. Unfortunately, I injured myself not once, but twice. Early in the night I broke my toe (at least I think it's broke) playing volleyball. I don't think it will have any significant impact on my training. I've broken my toes and fingers quite a few times, only once requiring surgery. This one definitely isn't that severe, if broken at all.

Then, today I was helping the rents clean up the aftermath and I lifted a heavy table overhead and something popped in my left shoulder. After that, severe pain. Trouble lifting my arm overhead. Even had a hard time washing my hair.

I've been doing a lot of icing, rest, and stretching. I don't think it's anything too serious. Probably a strain. However, it'll probably keep my from doing any upper body work this entire week. We'll see how it recovers... I'm certainly not going to push anything.

ALSO, I KNOW THERE WERE A FEW PEOPLE WAITING FOR ME TO POST SOME EXERCISE VIDS. I CREATED A NEW THREAD IN THE "WEIGHT LOSS THROUGH EXERCISE" SECTION OF THE SITE TITLED "THE BASIC LIFTS." I'D IMAGINE IT'LL BE A STICKIE BEFORE TOO LONG. IT SHOULD GIVE THOSE JUST STARTING OUT IN THE GYM A NICE STARTING PLACE. PLEASE KEEP QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO THOSE EXERCISES AND THE OUTLINED ROUTINE IN SAID THREAD.

See ya'll tomorrow! :)

ouch that must hurt..i really hope you recover quickly.
and thanx for that thread, i'm sure it will be very helpful as usual :)

a big hug to you
Lena

So sorry to hear about your mishaps, Steve. Hope they heal soon. So. . . did you get pretty wasted, or stay sober?

I went with full intention of getting wasted. I started drinking early in the day. However, it just didn't happen... the more I drank, the more sober I felt, LOL. I had an awesome time though, which is what I really cared about.

I placed second and the limbo competition too, behind my sister, which ain't too bad.

Wow, so next I guess you will be auditioning for "So You Think You Can Dance"! :D

Haha, that I doubt. While it'd be fun, I think I'd look like a fool.

With the limbo, all that flexibility training I do paid off finally. LOL. I was amazed how many girls couldn't "get low."

Steve, a question regarding the sorry state of my legs.

As you probably read in my journal, my legs have been pretty much toast the last few days. Today they feel a bit better, but still hurt.

My schedule today is Weights 1 (upper body), plus cardio. But I'm wondering if I should just limit it to the upper body and skip anything to do with legs. I don't want to be lazy, but I do want to recover, too.

No.

Don't leave legs out completely ever.

If fatigue is accumulating, what should be done is simple:

Reduce overall volume of leg training and keep intensity high (read: weight on the bar).

You could cut the volume by as much as 2/3 until you are feeling better and then gradually work the volume back in.
