Journey, Not A Destination

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping in over the weekend. I didn't make it on to the computer much.... spent much of my time outside. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekends!

Hi Steve!

Are you still cutting? How's that going for you?

I am.

And it's going. Slow but sure.

Should be faster, but I've had slip-ups here and there and that is enough to derail any appreciable progress.

I am not dissappointed though. I chose to "slip-up." I am having a very fun time in my life right now. About to get married, planning an awesome bachelor party, hanging out with friends, cookouts now that the weather is getting so nice.

I've weighed my options and being uber-lean for Hawaii isn't as important as just having fun right now. It's not like I am unhappy with my current physique. I will still cut but nothing too extreme and wherever I end up, I will be happy.

When things are less hectic in life though, I do want to do an extreme cut. Probably the next cut which will fall around winter time maybe. End of this year.

it's always nice to read that you do have your priorities in order and having fun is stil a priority for you :) all thingsin moderation :D

Howdy Steve,
You have such a great way of thinking! Your doing great
enjoy the bachelor party and cookout's,Tammy

Quote of the Day

Victory becomes, to some degree, a state of mind. Knowing ourselves superior to the anxieties, troubles, and worries which obsess us, we are superior to them.

We are told that talent creates its own opportunities. But it sometimes seems that intense desire creates not only its own opportunities, but its own talents.

Random Thought of the Day:

Folks who focus on weight-loss as the end goal rarely succeed in losing the weight AND keeping it off. On the flip-side, folks who focus on improving various aspects of their fitness/nutrition are usually successful in losing it and keeping it off.

My suggestion.

Stop thinking of it as, "I really want to lose weight so I have to do these things to make it happen." Rather, think like this:

"I want to increase my bench press."

"I want to walk/run further and harder today."

"I want to adhere to my diet plan 95% this week rather than 85%."

etc, etc.

By focusing on something that leads to weight loss, success is more likely... rather than solely focusing on weight loss alone.

Hi Steve. Good point on the goals. Of course, weight loss is only one of about 20 goals I have for myself, so it doesn't preoccupy me TOO much. :)

I'm into the last 4 days of my 18 day cycle, and then a planned 7 day rest. Got any ideas about changes to my routine?

Yup, I do. :)

I will PM you in a bit.

Nothing special, really, Bruce. Just eating less, altered minor things in terms of my macronutrients, reduced volume in the weight room, added cardio. That's really it.
