Journey, Not A Destination

Personally, my long term goal is to get to around 13% body fat. But then my lon, long term goal is to get to a state where I actually am doing what you're doing -- bulking to put on some more muscle. I don't know if that's possible for a 60 year old (which is how old I'll be when I get there), but I'd sure like to try!

As corny as this sounds, there is no such thing as "impossible" to me. I have seen amazing physiques at every age. And I HATE limited thinking. You can do what you put your mind to Tom. You are living proof of that every single day.

Want to see an old man that is straight jacked.

Check out .

WOW! That's incredible! I don't think I'll look as good as him on my 60th, but I'll be a lot closer than 95% of males my age.

I have role models that I KNOW I could never look like in terms of physique. Not because they know more than me, but because they are genetically blessed. I am not. That doesn't stop me, however, from striving to look like them. It drives me.

You just have to be careful with this way of thinking. Far too many people will compare themselves to others and get frustrated when they are not having the same results.

I understand my body and physiology enough to know what I am capable of. I don't use my role-models as the benchmark of what I hope for myself. I merely use them as one piece of artillery in my huge bag of weapons of motivation.

Hello Steve! Hope your week is great! After a week off from exercise (well, I only did 2 workouts) I am SO ready to break a sweat again.

Hiya Casey, and ditto. Enjoy your week!

I love coming off time off from the gym. I usually find that my strength has improved and I always psychologically pumped!

I feel you on this one, buddy! But I get the feeling that women are judged more harshly when they share this opinion. You're lucky you're a man sometimes.....

Have a beautiful Monday and I'm glad to hear you're close to your current goal. Thanks for the post of the evidence of over-eating in animals.

Hi Steve, I wanted to thank you for popping by my diary the other day.

But, I really want you to know that your information sharing has been appreciated. I see it all over the place around here and always learn something new.

Have a great day.

Lisa

Hey Steve. I did pretty well last month (results in my journal). However, I have a bad feeling another plateau is coming on. Oh well, that was probably inevitable. Hope you have a good day.

By the way, I saw a pic of Arnold in another thread. He looks like he should be on WLF!

I'll have to check your journal. Plateaus are inevitable, you know this. Just roll with the punches and the weight will continue to drop. It's like the stock market. I know people who want to sell the minute the market experiences a downturn. I keep saying to myself, "Are they freaking insane. The market is going on sale right now and they are selling! I am going to buy while it is going down."

We know over the long-run that the market is going to average 10ish% Even better if you know what you are doing. Ride it out, just like you stick it out with your methods for losing weight.

And Arnold is a mess. I can't imagine having probably the most amazing physique in history and ending up like that. Drugs aren't fun in the end. :D
