Journey, Not A Destination

Yesterday:

A bunch of thoracic extension work coupled with scapula mobility stuff and chest/shoulder flexibility stuff.

No weights.

very good workout lastnight...

Bench Press - 2x3, 1x6 (last set was 275 without a spot)
Incline Cable Fly - 3x10
Plate Loaded Rows - 3x12
CG Cable Pulldowns - 2x12
DB French Press - RP
Hammer Curls - RP

So nothing exciting to report from the weekend. I am loving this weather... down in the low 60's during the night. Mid 70's during the day. Feels like fall a bit.

Training today was heavy. Joints are feeling it.

Bench - 1x5, 1x3, 1x4 (last set was at 290)
Incline Cable Fly - 3x10
Rows - 3x12
CG Cable Pulldown - 2x12
DB French Press - RP
Hammer Curls - RP

After I did loads of mobility and flexibility work. I'm feeling all screwed up as of late.

I am loving the weather too - here in ATL it was in the 70s. Whoever heard for the end of Aug???

I have been foam rolling myself the last few day - ouchie. But needed.

Shit yea this weather is great. I actually woke up FREEZING this morning. All the windows were open in the house and it dropped down to 50 degrees.

Damn, considering it's been in the 90s for the past couple weeks... 50 is quite a shock.

so...I am 5'11 inches tall ( last I checked ) I weigh in at 250lbs, most is fat now, I need some advice as far as say, should I work out and diet or what? work out and keep my intake high? I hate to sound like an idiot, but I really need some help here, this is my first time actually starting up the work out/diet plan (since high school)

Well, yeah I suppose it is a pretty vague question, I just feel lost like you wouldn't believe man, I need some advice big time, any way I could just get a few tips? so I don't break my plans(diet/exercise routine) or anything, I know it's really vague, but I don't really know where to start... :(

I just saw that you know what's what, so I thought I'd ask for advice, to be honest this is my first forum that I've joined and participated in, so I don't know what the "Sticky" posts are?

AT the top of each section of the forum are posts that are pinned to the top so everyone can see them. It's pretty standard operating procedure in every online community to have "pinned" or "stuck" posts with the rules, most common questions, etc.

When you first join a forum, it's considered good manners to read those pinned/stuck posts first before asking questions that have been asked a million times before. Kinda like reading the FAQ on a regular website. :)

Ditto Kara.

I don't mind helping but essentially you're asking me, "How do you lose weight?"

That's like me going up to an engineer and asking him how he built the skyscraper.

Not saying weight loss if as difficult as engineering... but there are a lot of moving parts.

And as Kara noted... most of the foundational concepts are discussed heavily in the stickies.

I also have my own forum with loads of stickies you might consider reading before asking specific questions.

No, you don't need to apologize. And I don't think you're a tard.

Really.

It's just tough to answer such an open ended question.

I typically answer vague questions with vague replies... which I'm sure you wouldn't be happy with.

It would go something like:

Eat less and move more.

:)

I'm all ears for more specific questions so don't hesitate to speak up as much as you'd like once you spend some time reading the stickies.

This would be a good place to start. It's a bit old but the information still applies today.

It almost tempts me to get up earlier just to enjoy the colder weather-soon though, it'll be back to walking in layered socks so the snow doesn't soak through to my feet :biggrinjester:

sad thing is, I have to ALWAYS have the fan on, even in the winter when it's "Cold"(to my wife) I'm frying if I don't have the fan on.
