Journey, Not A Destination

Oh yes, those are great! You know the word Supine in Sanskrit is SUPTA! Sounds similar, eh? :D I hope to do inverted presses eventually--do you use a wall or are you free-standing (? that right term for this situation)?

I used to be able to do them free standing. I was lighter than though and probably had much more balance and stability. I doubt I could do them now. Takes practice.

I'm impressed! :hurray: That you were able to do them at all is great!! Look--they ain't easy!!! I've been trying for the past month (well, half-assedly, like maybe for a few minutes a week) and not getting better very fast! I'm not giving up, though. One of my retreat Yoga instructors got into a handstand sans wall, and proceeded to do the front splits on each side, then wrap her legs around each other on both sides, switching off, without touching the ground or swaying ONCE, on her hands the whole time, perfectly balanced :eek2: We were all stunned.

Doing those things takes a lot of balance and core strength. If you keep practicing, eventually you'll be able to do them. Do you have anybody who can spot you?

I think I just hijacked your thread, Steve.

12 lashes with a wet noodle for me :D

Hi! :waving:

Yes, my teachers are always nice at spotting--and using the wall is great--like, standing in Downward Dog, and climbing up it with the toes and scooting the body up a bit, then taking turns putting one leg up, one on the wall at a 90 degree angle and such....

Hi Curvie Girlie!

I've heard that using the wall is also very helpful. We didn't use the wall in gymnastics -- we had spotters and we just kept at it until we could do it properly.

Ya, that's something I cannot and will never be able to do.

WOW that's cool! :D

I met a lady at my Yoga retreat who was Gumby Woman. She said the Circus always interested her, but the carnies were scary to a beautiful young dancer *cough! Target!*

hey pookie -

miss me?

Naw not even al ittle bit right ...

Going in order of priority
how's the HAW? (lovingly referred to as Hot Ass Wife)
The lovely new house -she needs a name
Frank and Bob?
your butt...

and anything else I might have forgotten

I miss you tons. You leave and this place crumbles!

lol

HAW is busy with swimming and she dislikes it b/c all she wants to do is work on making the house nice.

The house is amazing which I told you about in my email. I'll be taking some pictures later today I believe.

Frank and Bob are in heaven. It took them a while to come out of their shells but they have close to 3 times the house now to run around in and be terribly bad. Plus tons of windows with huge windowsills looking out over awesome terrain with many, many birds everywhere.

My bedroom has a ceiling that peaks at about 20 feet. It has cedar rafters going across to that are probably 12-15 feet up. Bob has found a way to get up to them and jump across. I was worried at first b/c it's a long drop and the rafters are not very big... but he handles himself well... quite the athlete.

Bum is sore. Leg training took its toll since I had a week or two out of the gym during the move.

Glad to see you back around, that's for damn sure.

Haha, that's a good idea. I'll keep the camera, which I just found finally today in one of the boxes, next to the bed.

what...

I was thinking it'd be fun to video tape the wildlife outside your window..

What were you going to do with the video camera in the bedroom :)

Not thta there's anyting wrong with that :)

I'm assuming Frank and Bob are cats? LOL I bet they are having a blast exploring and checking out their new digs.

Your bedroom sounds amazing. 20 feet ceilings? I have the standard 8ft ceiling...I'm so jealous. Sounds fabulous!! Where are these pics? I wanna see.

Glad your cats [and you and HAW] are enjoying the place--word on being concerned about Bob, but yeah, remember, cats have 9 lives! Oliver fell 15 ft off the loft railing onto the hardwood floor, once, or so I was told by my houseguest Tatyana, who witnessed it

Speaking of bums!!! Hey yo, my wishes came true this weekend! Met an awesome, cool, tall guy with a BIG NICE BOOTY and a damn nice body, to match, on Saturday :D And he doesn't have a girlfriend, YAY!!!! It feels almost WRONG to get exactly what I want, just like that, BUT I can only thank my lucky stars or whatever, to be blessed, so :) YAY!!!!!!
