I'm always asked anyway so what's the difference, lol.

Nice truck :)

Thanks. It's a lot more practical.

How's the gas mileage on it?

Well the cool thing about these new hemi engines is on highway, it goes from an 8 cylinder to a 4 cylinder to conserve gas. They've been known to get over 20 mpg on the highway.

I'm expecting 16ish.

Being pretty much a lifelong city person - where parking is at a premium - having to dock a bigger vehicle was always a challenge... Guess you've got driveway access... :D

Haha, yea, the new house, assuming I get it isn't visible from the road. It's got a nice long driveway and a big garage. No parallel parking for me.

Whats the only thing better than a friend with a tuck?

A fiend with a truck

And a 300+lb bench press

Yup, that's what I always here. "Steve, how about you put those muscles to good use." Like they're trying to butter me up or something.

It's alright.

I'm going to need people to return those favors soon enough, in hopes of me getting this house and moving in. Three floors of narrow steps, lol.

Good luck. One thing years in the furniture business taught me is that any time the conversation turns to lifting heavy furniture, most people would be "more than happy to help......................If it weren't for this bad back I have."

Yup, really trading it in.

Oddly, since I'm very 'un-materialistic,' letting to of it really is hard. It's not about having a car that people admire. It's more about a value struggle. I value handling and speed. I really enjoy driving and driving a sports car makes the act a pleasurable experience. But I'm sure I'll find other ways to fill the void.

you'll get a lot of performance out of a truck too - just a different kind of performance...

and it's gotta be cool being bigger than most people on the road (not that size matters.. but :D

Afternoon!

Glad you had a nice vacation :) Good luck with the house, nice truck, and oh yeah I totaled 24.5 miles of running last week :D And I feel great, it's just harder to get out of bed in the morning sometimes ;) Have a good rest of your Monday! I'm off to Hawaii on Friday

Nice looking truck! But then, I love trucks. I have a Toyota Tacoma X-Runner that handles a lot like a sports car, but I can still haul stuff with it.

Oooooo, Hemi!!! :drool5:

I've been known to cry when losing cars...so I can't imagine how you'll fill the void. But I'm sure you'll manage. :) You seem to be a very practical guy so I'm not surprised by this move. Besides...your married now. No need to turn heads. hahaha

So given the fact that I am in 'save money mode' right now, I really want to reduce my monthly car payment. The 350z has been a ton of fun and I'm still fully in love with the car. But I don't need to have a 500+ dollar per month car payment at the moment.

So I went and test drove a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck over the weekend and I really like it. I don't love it like I do my car and it will be sad trading... but financially it makes the most sense. Dealers are basically giving trucks away right now. This truck is nearly a 40k truck and I'm getting it for a little over 20k.

If they weren't giving such steep discounts I probably wouldn't go through with it. But it's too good a deal to pass up.

It isn't a done deal yet, their appraisal department was closed when I was there. But if they give appraise it for what I want, the deal with go through. I should find out tomorrow.

Here's a pic of the same truck I'm getting:

I want the bright silver metallic.

In the middle of getting a mortgage is usually not a good time to make purchases. I would check with your mortgage guy just to make sure this doesn't throw any ringers.

Yea, that is something that is enticing. The true stupidity of America shines on the roads. I've yearned of being able to run said stupid over and now I'll be able to do so if I get this truck.

Lucky you! How I wish to go back to Hawaii. It doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon though. Have a blast! You've been there before from what I remember but seriously soak it all in.

I was looking at Tacomas and Tundras. I like them both. Dodge is just giving the best deals right now and when I drove the dodge, I really fell in love considering it's a truck. Great power and comfort. The Tundra is fast as hell, but expensive as hell too.

All the years i lived in new york - I swore that if there was such a thing as reincarnation - I wanted to come back as a garbage truck - or a city bus.. just to be bigger and badder than anyhing else on the road and be able to run them over if I so choose... Generally I'd exercise restraint - but the fact that you COULD is oh so appealing :)

Oh yeah and somethng else to keep in mind - my buddies at work will say that women who can drive a pick up -and not be intimidated by it - are totally hot :)
