Journey, Not A Destination

Well I doing a lot of writing projects at the moment for my business. I've written all the content for the website which has been lengthy, I'm in the process of writing all the stickies posts for my forum, and I'm also writing a small book for my clients.

Oh yea, and I'm starting my interview with Lyle McDonald this weekend.

I've been on a roll is all.

Thanks Mal. I like to think I've known my stuff for a long while, not that I don't have a lot left to learn... but I've never felt like writing as much as I do right now. It's a real good feeling.

Well keep it up. It's bound to help a lot of people at the end of the day.

That's the idea... hopefully it doesn't turn into one of those projects you never get around to finishing. So far the momentum with regards to this business has been solid since January. Can't complain about that.

you really see an end to the project? there's a point where you're going to be ready for primetime-but I'm not sure you'll ever have an end to it - it's going to be ever evolving Iw oould think...

you will absolutely be ready for primetime... I'd venture to say by bastille day

that is going to be interesting...

i mean more interesting that what you normally write - to see what you plan on asking him and his responses...

I agree... I'm so interested simply b/c he's so brilliant but rarely talks about obesity and the like. It's usually for bodybuilders and that sort of crowd. It's going to take a while b/c I'm asking a question and waiting for his response until I ask the next.. all via email.

No, you're absolutely right. Gordy and I have such big plans it's almost silly. But the good thing about us is we act on all our dreams so I have no doubt that they'll happen.

Plus, there's so much I want to do with this business. This website is just the stepping stone although I see it always being there.

a) I like relating to people through the web

b) I like writing about fitness and weight loss and it gives me that outlet

But I am sooo looking forward to the day where Gordy and I have our own place and when we can do bootcamps and seminars... those sort of things using our own facility.

so you're next question would/could be based on the answer to the previos question... :)

cool stuff...

That's the idea. I didn't want to throw a bunch of questions at him. I wanted there to be some interactive life in the interview.

I feel like I'm in major suck-up mode... and I want something .... but I dont - otehr than to jsut leave work for the day.. becauase i'm really sick of people right now... but the relating and the writing are two things that you excel at... on the web is my only interaction wih you but I can't imagine you'd be any less in real life....

you've definiely found your calling and you will be a success at it... not that you aren't successful at what you're doing right now..

Thanks Mal.

I like to believe my skill set excels in real life simply b/c of the hands on component of in-person training. But I love about the web how many people I can reach and believe it or not, the people I've worked with over the web always seem more driven to succeed than in-person.

It's strange.

If I'm having fun, stress is low, passion is high and I can afford underwear.... I'm successful in my eyes, lol.

It doesn't take much.

I've been MIA. Working on getting my own forum up and running (thanks Mal!)

I wanna hear more??!! Offline conversation perhaps?

Nothing new in my world. Been reading like a mad man which has been nice. Training is going really well... still doing 2 days of strength training and 2 days of conditioning work per week (entailing speed strength, strength endurance, power development, speed and agility as well as some corrective prehab stuff too)

I was going to strength train 3 days per week but I've decided to replace the one session with golf, lol.

Beyond that, nothing new and exciting.

Golf is a ton of fun!! What are you doing? Executive course? Full 18? That is great!! I bet you enjoy mixing in a little pleasure with your workouts.

No, it's not really a secret per se. The new website I'm working on is having an associated forum. I'll still be around there parts a bunch. I just wanted a central place for our clients to communicate, much like how this place works. I think these forums are awesome tools.

It's been a lot of work though learning the back end of vbulletin, making it's appearance resemble my site, and generating some useful stickies for the members.

Mal has been my saving grace!

We try and play 18 if we have the time. Or we just go for 9. It's tough with our schedules... I'm stupidly busy nowadays and the guys I golf with aren't much better.

I enjoy anything I can get with it though. I'm still learning for the most part.
