Journey, Not A Destination

Agreed.

I don't think you ever know everything in anything, actually.

**********

So this was a very nice weekend. Friday evening my friend had a cookout since he just built a new deck. Had the chance to hang out with some guys I hadn't seen in a while.

Saturday I had a real good workout... just your basic strength routine consisting of:

Squats 5x3
DB Rows 3x5
DB Bench 3x5
High Cable Curls 2x10
Dips 2x10
Some static core work with supermans and planks

Saturday evening Krista went out with another couple to Maggianos, an excellent Italian place in King of Prussia. There was great conversation and great food. I had some fried mozzarella and chicken parm with a side of spaghetti.

I realized how fortunate I am to have maintained so many close friends over the years. The couple we went with, I've actually been friends with him since pre-school. Really close friends... and that's so rare nowadays. He's actually the same guy who trains with me right now.

Sunday consisted of work, which was okay since I worked outside on the porch. I also did a lot of reading. I killing a book a week right now which is extremely good for me.

that's very cool to have a friendship for that long - the older you get the more you'll really appreciate it...

Sounds like the perfect steve weekend.. .glad you enjoyed... and it's a short week this week :)

I've been using yahoo radio for a couple of years for when I'm in the office. I've enjoyed it for the most part and the annual subscription is cheap.

I just found a new love though for internet radio.

I think it's

Free, very easy to use, and plays great music. Customizable too.

Anyone else use this?

Pandora is awesome- I think I was one of their first subscribers :

What's really cool is that you get to hear stuff you wouldn't normally lsiten to based on what you currently like...

Good stuff :)

Exactly... I'm loving it. Thoroughly impressed so far.

I forgot to mention that I also found a house I would love to buy over the weekend. We aren't/weren't in the market but it's a house I've loved since I was a kid. Sits right along a stream I grew up fishing and there isn't another house in sight. It was built in the 1700s and has 3 structures on the property.

It's out of our price range, I think, but I've heard rumors that they are thinking about signifcantly dropping the price. I think I might call them this week to see what's up.

I'd be scared shitless to buy it for a number of reasons, not just the price... at the same time though I feel like I have to see if it's a possibility since I love the property.

If the price is right... and the house passes all the structural inspections that it needs to pass... well -then - it might be worth it long term...

As young as you are - you seem fairly settled in your area.... so unless you're planing on packing up and moving acrsoss the country... :)

And houses are good for little steves, stephanies, kristas, and kris's :D

(I wanna be a web auntie mal :D

I'm just not a fan of strapping myself financially. I make good money now and I save money... but I don't want to make an atmosphere where I have to worry at all. It's tough to judge what will become of my financial picture too. If I stay in the position I'm at currently in finance I'll be making even more money for sure with each passing year. This coupled with training and what the website will become would make it a no brainer.

If I were to leave the finance feild all together though... than it's real scary. I also don't like the idea of being trapped in anything. I have to put some serious thought to it but right now my mind is ticking.

Here are some pics of the outside.

the property that house is on is beautiful... is there fish in that stream? :D

You've got a good head on your shoulders - you'll know what to do when the time comes... if it's right then it's right :)

Steve...how american dream of you....the house is great....I want a house...lol

I've always wanted to build my own house and have it be next to a stream. This isn't building but it's the next best. I'm not going to get my hopes up but it's certainly in my sites at the moment. There are three buildings on the property. Above the garage is a completely finished antique store now. I would probably make that my office if I were to get it.

Is the area zoned for commercial ventures -or doesnt PA care about taht stuff.. .Could the garage at some point or one of the other buildings be transformed into studio space?

Not suggesting you live beyond your means butif you were to make an offer based on what you can comfortably afford... you never know... the owners might accept it..

I agree. I kid you not I grew up fishing that stretch of stream since I was a very young kid... I grew up not far from this place actually. I used to always say how cool it would be to live back there. The property on the other side of the stream is a state park so there is no possibility of ever being built up.

is there fish in that stream? :D

Certainly is.

You've got a good head on your shoulders - you'll know what to do when the time comes... if it's right then it's right :)

Thanks and my thoughts exactly. If it's right, it's right. If not, there will be other properties. I certainly won't get bent out of shape or upset.

I would imagine so since she runs a functional store out of it now.

To be honest I'm not so sure. I haven't looked up close yet at everything. On that note though, I would certainly think about it. Although Gord and I still want something big relatively speaking in order to do what we hope.

That's my thought. I'm planning on calling them sometime this week and playing stupid as if I don't know what they're asking. When they tell me the price, I'll simply say up front that it's above what we can afford but we are willing to spend this so if nothing comes along and you're willing, please keep is in mind.... something like that.

That's so boy scoutish of you... :D

that you and krista are a very cute young couple will definitely work in your favor - especially when you're so honest..

Are the current owners the original owners -or rather have the owned the place a long time? if that's the case then their morgage is probably paid off so everyhing they'd make on the sale of the house is pure profit - so a lesser price than their asking to get rid of it... is definitely an option.

And you know all this -i'm just trying to up my post count :)
