Journey, Not A Destination

Quote of the Day and Randomness

"I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."

"You are your own most important resource for making your life work. Life rewards action. Until your knowledge, awareness, insights, and understandings are translated into action, they are of no value."

So I'm having a helluva week with regards to business. That said, I'm in excellent spirits and state of mind. And to top it off, I tested my max in bench last night which I haven't done since before my wedding and I'm getting a lot of my strength back. At 190 lbs, I only wanted 315 lbs. However, I threw 315 up like it was nothing. I then went for 325 and threw it up like nothing, so I did another rep. I stopped there as I didn't want to push things too much but 325x2 I'm very happy with. My true max is probably much higher as the 325x2 was done with no 'grind' whatsoever. I think I definitely had another 20 lbs at least in the tank.

Good shit man... I know how a good week or even day can make someone feel. Again, congrats on the hard work and enjoy the payout.

Thanks!

There's something about feeling strong that nothing compares to for me. If I could maintain my physique and recover enough from it, I'd train with 1-2 reps all the time.

No shit huh??!!

Congrats on feeling strong! Glad business is good, have an enjoyable mid-week :)

Happy hump day! ;) And it's all downhill from here...to Friday, that is! :D

This weekend can't come soon enough.

I've got nothing to do aside from CPR and AED certification testing. Aside from that... I relaxing and reading. I almost decided to go down to Florida for the weekend as I have a free ticket.... but I opted out of that. Too much hassle.

amen to that

I could find you lots of candidates for the mouth to mouth portion of CPR testing :)

Sitting your behind on a beach watching the waves in the sun sounds pretty hassle free...

Hahaha, I'm certified already but my wife needs to update hers for swim coaching so I figured I'd go with her.

This is true. But all that travel just for a weekend on the beach isn't worth it to me. If I were going to down for a week, it would be different.

what a good boy you are :) so sweet... :D

to actually not be freezing for a day or two would be a beautiful thing :) I'm not sure what's colder these days - my heart, the training room I've been in for the past two weeks, or outside... :D pretty damn frosty...

I generally do not mind the cold.. you can always put on a sweater and warm up but this new office space has incredibly drafty windows - so my desk is freezing, the training room's average temp has been 60 degrees - and 12 computers isn't warming it up any... the outside temp has been finger numbing below 10 degrees... I need my extra layer of blubber back...

Wow, that's way too cold. I think it's been in the 20s here and I hate it. I need to put Operation-Hawaii into high gear!

Says the woman who makes up every excuse in the book not to take a vacation. :D

Nice job on the bench press, Steve! I can't decide who my favorite meathead is--you or James. :biggrinjester:

So I think I'm going to be switching gyms when my membership expires at my current one. I checked out the other one in my small town, and the price is very reasonable, and the equipment is impressive. They have pretty much everything I want--and they are open later so I can workout late--something I can't do at my current gym. So what weight should I aim for with the bench press? The last time I did it a few years ago I benched 100lbs a couple of times. I think I could've done a little bit more.

I'm glad you're feeling good these days. :hurray:

Thanks Kimberly!

I'm still happy about that. :)

It has to be James, b/c I'm not a meathead. :p

Are you talking about a regular bench press using a barbell?

So today I walk out to my jeep to drive into work. Lo and behold I've got a flat tire. I usually don't sweat these kinds of uncontrollable parts of life as there's no point in getting worked up over it. But it did make my blood boil a bit as now I had to drive the sports car into work. Wouldn't be an issue usually, but it's supposed to snow today so I could really be in a mess later. I'll have to watch the roads closely I guess and leave early if needed.

It also sucks b/c the tires on my jeep are close to 300 bucks per tire.

The kicker is, I couldn't see anything that punctured the tire and it definitely wasn't a slow leak or I would have noticed it deflating over time.

I have suspicions that some shit let the air out of my tire.

Serenity now.

Holy shit man, those are amazing numbers. I may have to go roid up just to try to compete!

It has to be James, b/c I'm not a meathead.

YEAH... and my name is not Sir Anthony Hopkins

Now I have this vision of how Steve changes a tire...

Yes, i have a rich fantasy life..

No need for jacks in Steve-land...

I lifts up the car with one hand and removes the lug nuts - possibly twirling the car around instead of the more simple approach of just twisting off the nuts.. because the car twirls are more dramatic...

he then single handedly swaps out the tire and replaces the lug nuts... and gently places the car back on the ground and drives off...

:)

Just drive carefully and watch the other morons on the road who don't know what to do in snow...
