Journey, Not A Destination

well ladies that means he's having some bad thoughts about you...hmmm wonder what steve's bad thoughts are...ok i need to get a hold of myself :D

Last week was spring break. I just didn't count anything.I ate what I wanted within reason. I know basically what I can have and not go over.

Right, but I wonder how many cals you were eating. By break, I mean a ramp up in your caloric intake for a brief time. This gives your body a nice physiological break, allows some things to reset.

I don't know. I go over cals sometimes, but I don't that often. I don't want to gain anything back that I have lost. And I am looking pretty good in my opinion. But I would look better one size smaller. Which is where I used to be. I know I need to lose about 10 lbs more even with the lean muscal I am getting. I am not a large person and am not big boned. I would lik to fit in my wedding dress again.

Sometimes you need to take one step back in order to take 2 steps forward when it comes to this. Just the way it works. Stick with what you are doing now, but if the weight doesn't come off in 2 weeks or so with such a low caloric intake, I would bump cals up toward maintenance for a good week or so and then drop them back down.

Excellent Friday morning, I am pumped up for the weekend. It is the start of fishing season. I am leaving for a trip with 3 buddies, probably won't be around the computer much for a few day after today.

awww heck - have a fun buddy bonding weekend :)

we'll keep your seat warm for ya

Hey, Steve. This "momentum" thing is really interesting. I wouldn't believe it unless I had seen it with my own eyes twice. For most of March, I was stuck at 244. Then, in a 2 day period, it dropped below 240. I had build up a stored deficit of over 12,000 calories (and maybe even more than that, because I'm so conservative in estimating my RMR).

We'll see what happens when I'm away from the gym for so long, and away from all my tracking spreadsheets too. Away from the scale -- yikes, first time in months for that too happen.

My rest period is going to be about 10 days because the last few days were so screwed up for me, but I'll still be doing lots of physical activity while I'm away. It'll be very interesting to see what has happened to me when I get back on April 8th.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Tom, I really wouldn't worry about calories too much. If anything, I would want them to be up from the norm to give your body a break.

Actually, it's 10 per pound now (I assume you're talking about RMR). You think I should go lower? I'm very happy with my weight loss so far. . .

Gee that's terrific news you've seen such a good loss lately. And you're sure to have an awesome time. Sure you'll miss us, for a second. I'm midway through Archery. Taking some notes to keep with me in my purse for weak moments, but I don't really have any. That's good!

I am not talking about RMR. I am talking about total caloric intake. If it is 10 calories per pound of total bodyweight, than fine. I was saying if it is up around 11+, then you should drop it.
