I joined the gym today!! It was my first day and so happy i finally decided to join. I am in a ton of pain, but i know it will get better. I had a personal trainer, and he had me doing resistance training for an hour. Something i have never really done before, since i have only been doing cardio. From what my trainer had told me, all the cardio was too much and i started to burn my lean muscle instead of fat. So now he has me doing resistance training 3x a week and cardio 2x a week. I'm up a few pounds too and i am back in the 190's :eek: 192 to be exact.
body fat 35% hope to get that lowered too..soon
 
Monday, may 14

2 lbs down back to 190. Geez I am still in Pain from friday's workout. Must have been a good workout though :)

I am not going to continue with the trainer, it is very pricey and cant fit it into my budget just yet.

So i am going to continue the workout routine that my trainer taught me.
Not sure what to do for cardio on my 2 days aweek. Maybe a suggestion anyone? I was thinking elliptical but how long should i be on it? I want to use at least 2 different machines, spend an hour at the gym.
 
Hey, congrats for joining the gym! When I was going I was doing cardio everyday with resistance training 3x a week. For my cardio, I wanted to get an hour of cardio in every time so I would do something like 30 min treadmill, 30 min bike... or 20 min treadmill, 20 min bike, 20 min elliptical. I would just do different things depending on how I felt, but no matter what ... if I had the time I would definately make it an hour. I love resistance training, it's much more fun than cardio I find. I think it's because you don't spend a whole lot of time doing one thing, you do your reps and your off to the next thing!

I wish you luck at the gym, I'm sure if you do your 5 days a week consistantly that you'll see results for sure!

I really liked the resistance training, even though i was in soo much pain. He showed me how much more calories i burned, i was was really huffing and puffing in that session. lol I'm all good to go today, so i think i will do the cardio 5x a week also.I really want to lose this weight.

and This morning down to 189.4 whoopie back to the 80's :jump:
 
and down another pound today too. what is going on?? 188.4 my pants went from tight to loose in just 4 days? lol not complaining for sure:jump:

Yesterday went to the gym. I did the elliptical for 30 minutes, and wanted to use some other equipment but still felt a little wierd.It's my first time there alone and no trainer. So i went home and did some resistance training.My friend is tagging along with me today, so maybe can get a bigger workout.

My Daily Menu for now until i get sick of the food :)
Breakfast: Kashi go lean or Special K cereal
Snack - Banana and yogurt
lunch : Turkey or Chicken sandwich with light mayo no cheese
Snack: Wheat thins with lowfat cheese
Dinner: baked potato ,Grilled Chicken with ranch and salad
Snack: Fruits or veggies

Nice to hear about the gym. And I'm sure that you'll soon feel like home there. It takes courage only once, after that you can always think that you've done it before, why not this time. :cool:

I'm pretty sure I will get the hang of it, i think for now i feel like i dont know what i am doing when it comes to the other equipment with weights, and others will stare and laugh.. lol i know it wont be like that but its that feeling..Im happy i have someone to go with, she has been going for 3 months now, and pretty much uses only the other equipment. So i am excited about that..
 
Hey! Congrats on losing that weight, that's awesome! I wouldn't worry about not knowing how to use the other machines quite yet. You just started using these ones at the gym so your body isn't used to them yet and you don't need a change from it yet. So just use what the trainer showed you and you'll be fine! After a while you'll get curious about the other machines and take a peek and try them out. That's what happened to me anyways! Keep up the good work, you're doing awesome!
 
Just wanted to let anyone know, how reads my journal, I have some now pics of me in the before after forum (crazy4beadzprogress), not a too dramatic difference, but a little :jump: .

I'm so jealous that you're seeing the 187's. I'm still floating in the 189-192 range. I saw your before/after shots. You really are looking great.

You'll get there too Jen! I was stuck at 190 for about a month, and now it seems I'm losing more than i should. Your peeking into the 80's now :jump: You can do it.
 
Wow i havnt stopped in , in over a month! been so busy around here. I am down to 184.2 :jump: a long struggle , losing less than a pound a week, but its soo worth it! I feel soo much better about myself , went shopping today and bought some tank tops with spaghetti straps and i felt i looked good! for the first time in years. I hope everyone is doing great! I havnt had time to peek in anyones diaries, but im pretty sure them tickers went down :)
 
Why do i retain soooo much water after eating watermelon??? i mean i can poke my leg and leave a dent in it!!

Not feeling to good now, i feel so bloated! only happens after watermelon too.

ideas anyone?
