Jmann journey to a new me

Thanks. So today was a little bit tougher. I pushed myself today on the bike and was a minute faster then yesterday. But the. Came in changed and did a hour long workout. And it kicked my tail. But this morning I was down to 188.6. So I'm pretty happy with my progress so far.

Nice work in here Jmann! You'll hit your goal in no time working as hard as you are. Keep it up!

Thanks. I kinda plateaued this past week. So I decided to push it a little harder today. That and I found my self snacking a little bit more then I should have. But I'm still on track to loose the weight by aug 1st.

Well I'm not sure if the scale was lying to me or if my body finally caught up to me working out. But I weighed in at 186.6 this morning. So that was nice to see. I also got in a nice run this morning. Another 3 miles. A little bit slower then last time. And a nice McDonald's ad at the bottom again. It sounded nice this morning. since I went for the run before breakfast. View attachment 20472

I still have one more workout to do today then I get tomorrow off.

Today I went and bought a new pair of pants. I was wearing a 34 waist size and it was kinda snug on me. Well today I bought a 32 waist size and it fits a little loose on me. It was a great feeling to buy new jean two sizes smaller and have them fit loose on me.

So yesterday I had my first cheat day in over a month and a half. I had a small Quiznos sandwich for lunch. And then had a burger and fries for dinner. And I was weak and broke down and had a small scoop of ice cream with a small piece of brownie. But I'm glad to report that even though I ate all of that bad food I did enough work around the house building a fence to maintain my weight of 186.6. So it was nice to have a day off from a strict eating habit and still maintain my weight. But today it's back to working my butt off and eating good.

So I opened up my closet it put a coat away and all of a sudden I hear this noise I can't tell what it is I look around and I don't see anything and so I go to close the door and I hear it again. This time I hear the words use me. I look down and see my running shoes under a vest that fell down I pick it up and there is the noise again. This time I can hear it very well. The noise is my running shoes yelling at me telling me to use them. So after being yelled at I go and change and put on my running shoes. I step out side turn on some tunes and my running app and start running. Didn't have a destination or distance that I wanted to go. I hit start on the running app and started to run. Well it turned out to be my farthest and best run to date. Ended up hitting three miles about a 1/4 of a mile to where I started so I kept at it. Got to the stop sign where I started my run looked at my phone and was at 3.30 miles an thought what the hell lets so 3.50 miles. Got home and took my shoes off and asked if they got enough use for the day and they told me yes. Well if anybody actually reads my dairy hope you enjoyed my story. Here is the screen shots of my running app

I find it interesting there has been 705 views of this thread and about 3/4 of the posts are just me. Thinking this forum is not supportive.

I often think that the best support is in the challenges rather than the diaries...

I tend to abandon my diary for weeks at a time...

If you are in a team challenge a number of people maka a posting in the one thread so that there is only one place to visit. People are busy and do not all get round to visiting lots of diaries

If you stick to diaries - it is a bit like sitting in your house and hoping that someone will visit. Sometimes it works - but sometimes it doesn't. You can visit other people's diaries but there is no way of knowing when they would visit back - if ever... I owe some people a reply to their posting in my diary - never mind millions of return visits - but I am just way too busy...

At the time that my diary was most active - I was visiting maybe a dozen or more diaries every day with people who were logging in all the time... If you are keen to get visits to your diary - I suggest you see who is making a lot of postings every day and visit some of their diaries a couple of times... If they RTF then do it again.

I just find it funny that when new people join your told to start a diary. And I did and got some responses. But i was looking at how many have viewed my diary and there was 705 views. And only 35 responses. And out of the 35 I'm sure close to 3/4 of that was me writing things about what I'm doing.

Can I also just point out that when I was logged on the diary page earlier today and scrolled down the bottom where it shows who is online it said that I was online, along with 45 unregistered guests. Out of the views you have, a lot of them could be from unregistered guests unable to comment because they haven't registered with the site.

:)

Edit: Right now at the bottom it says:

"Users Browsing this Forum
There are currently 15 users browsing this forum. (4 members & 11 guests)"

So lots of people aren't able to post :) This part of the forum isn't overly active unless you post regularly and keep up to date with everyone else's diaries. I find it the most rewarding section of the forum but I have been here since Jan 2010 and go through stages of posting every day for months and months. Stick with it--The people will come ;)

I don't tend to mention diaries nearly as much as other people when I welcome folk.... I tend to suggest clubs and challenges....
Whilst some people just say "start a diary" - I tend to go more for the notion of start a diary and visit other people in their diary in the hope that other people will visit you.

I also suggest that people welcome new people because they have just turned up and are looking for friends.

I must admit that I made tons of really good friends on this forum in my time here from 2007 until I disappeared at the start of 2010. Most of my friends and I tended to move over to FB en masse then so that we could just scan a heap of statuses and very quickly replicate the contact of visiting about a dozen diaries... The problem with diaries in my experience is that it can get very time consuming.

I guess that is one reason why I think that the clubs and challenges can be so good... A number of people all make their postings in the one shared thread...
