Jmann journey to a new me

Thanks knotty. I'm still waiting on some cash to build up my SS/fixed gear. But tomorrow I'm riding my Raleigh to work. And hopefully be ordering insanity asylum. Here is my SS/fixed gear build

Well if you read my diary you know I finished insanity this past Sunday. So today I rode my bike to and from work. Took the long way home and added 4 and some change miles on to my ride. So instead of 8.32 I got 13. But I got home and I didn't know what to do. I have had a steady workout routine for the past 60 days. And today I was lost. So I got a shovel a post hole digger and a breaker bar and started working on a fence.

Nice effort on the ride, fencing is awesome hard work, a great replacement for Insanity :)

Well today I pushed myself again. I rode to work and home for a total of 8.5 miles the ride was split between 8 hours of work. But when I got home I put on the running shoes and went for a 4 mile run. And out of all of it I had to stop and walk for about .15 of a mile at the 2.5 mile mark. It only took me 35 min. Then came home did three sets of 15 reps on my homemade TRX system. And to top it all off I got insanity asylum ordered. Hope it will be here by the end of the week.

That's quite a workout Jmann! I wish I could run but plantar fasciitis prevents it. Running gives you high intensity quick. I looked at Insanity ads on TV but I don't think I could do many of those moves...haha!

I've been considering checking out Insanity, how do you like it?

I liked it once I got into it. It took about two weeks of saying to myself you have to do this. And I say that I made myself do because I said to myself this time your doing all 60 days. By the start of the second month I was really into it. And the last week was the hardest for me. Knowing I was so close to the end but still had to do one more week of it. But all in all it was good. I lost about 22lbs and about 2 inches off my waist. I will say if your looking to build a bunch of muscle don't do this. I have more muscle definition but I didn't bulk up. It was great for weight loss.

Ok so today my good diet went right out the widow. It was spring barrel tasting this weekend so the wife and I and a couple of friends went out and drank a lot of wine and ate some bad snacks. And then pizza for dinner. But back to the hard work and better eating tomorrow.

Sounds like you're kicking some serious butt with your workout! Great job! Don't worry about the "bad food" yesterday. It happens. As you said, back on track today. :)

Well after taking two days off from an actual workout to build a small fence. I did my first insanity the asylum workout to see what it is all about. And it is going to kick my tail. Did a 45 min workout then went for a 3.25 mile bike ride and my Schwinn SS build. Finally got it all built up

Hey Jmann, that's quite a difference, congrats! and, a lot of fat comes from the inside too. Yes, true it's so great to lose the fat in how you feel and look, it's a wonder why we put it on in the first place. Unfortunately, I never took photos when I began, I thought about it but just had the thought I'll never will be back this way again.

Keep it going,
knotty

Thanks knotty. It's funny the before pics were from when I was about 210 or so. I noticed that in the before pic I didn't have my roses on my shoulder and I got those done last August. That was my first attempt at loosing weight that didn't go so well. But now I'm doing great.

You can definitely see a big difference in your before and after pics. Congrats on a job well done! I'm sure you'll get continued success doing the workouts you're doing. :)

Thanks Mandy. Well I decided tomorrow that I'm starting insanity: The Asylum. I have done 5 of the 6 just to try them out. And I'm sore from it. So tomorrow will be interesting. I will be biking to work. Working 8 hours then biking home for a total of 8.5 miles or so. Then do the fit test. Then start the workout. I have a feeling I will be a little tied tomorrow night. Well that's all for now. Good night
